  1. As soon as they come up with a 30 pack rack (hey that even rhymes) I'm buyin, and buyin big.
  2. Been a member on both sites for about the same time. PS is obvioulsy geared for the serious engine builder/drag racer. Outstanding site, in my opinion. The HQ is more of the common mans site. You can post a question about almost anything here and someone will give you a hand. Ask how or who shaves flywheels here, question answered. Ask how to fix a friggin washing machine or build a decent back yard Koi pond, and the same thing, someone here is gonna jump in and give you a hand. A very unique site/community we have here. Best site on the net, IMHO. I've received help from both and both are outstanding sites, for what they are.
  3. And why exactly do you need an assault rifle?
  4. I have CPI's on my bike and Toomeys on my sons' bike. Personally I like the way the T-5's sound. More of a WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPP
  5. I would pull them puppies off and get yourself a can of carb cleaner and clean the shit outta of em. They may do it again if they're dirty when your out someplace that you cant fix it real quick.
  6. Actually there are 2 bolts on the top at the rear of the air box. As Holyman said, after that you gotta wiggle that sucka out. Theres 2 pegs that you have to manuever around. Just push the box towards the carbs, It'll come out.
  7. Man, 44 I thought I was old! Happy birthday Will.
  8. Clean your carbs and put in fresh plugs.
  9. compression sounds low. How much time on your current top end? Probably time to do the cylinders. Match the pistons to your port work while your at it.
  10. Check and be sure you unplug your TORS and parking brake assemblies.
  11. Thats an awesome start, next up is some porting, carbs, reeds, blah, blah, blah. Basically, you'll never be happy. Anyway, welcome.
  12. Anybody have a website? I've read good things about his stuff, wanna talk to him about a few little things. Thanx.
  13. Save the money that you were gonna spend on the carbs and get 20cc domes, good gripy rear tires, lighten your flywheel and advance your timing. You'll be closer to him, but if hes ported your still a ways off.
  14. Just disconnect the parking brake as well. It'll eventually fail.
  15. I saw that as well. From my understanding its just a slip on pipe, no head pipe. If your interested just go on their site and ask for yourself. They have always responded to my e-mails, most of the time Toomey himself.
  16. Keep your stock air box and just get a pro design filter and adapter plate. I run that on the 99 since just about day one and havent had a problem.
  17. An "LE Banshee" only has upgraded plastic. Motor and suspension is identical.
  18. tors stands for throttle over ride system. Theoretically its used if your throttle becomes stuck wide open it'll shut your machine down. Its the huge box on the top of your carbs. Typically alot of people remove em. I just unplugged them on the 99. They have a tendancy to fuck up, thats why I unplugged mine. Unplug em, keep em with your stock carbs, it helps in syncing your carbs and adjusting the idle.
  19. Unplug the TORS and and the parking brake while your at it.
  20. I run 15/41 on the 99. Noticed a huge difference when we went up to the 15. You'll like it.
  21. I run water wetter in both shees, and have done so for the last couple of seasons. No complaints. Next season, I'm gonna give engine ice a try.
  22. Some quick and inexpensive mods are; go up a a tooth on the front sprocket, good rear tires, Razrs come to mind, advance your timing with an adjustable plate, lighten your flywheel, carbon fiber reeds and port your own reed cages, or just get some V-Force. After that, get er ported, buy some CPI's, Rockets or T-5's, get bigger carbs, yada, yada, yada. Rydas' post really hit home. Once you start you cant stop. Your shee will never be fast enough, quick enough or shiny enough. Welcome to our misery.
  23. I would go in this order: 1. rear tires 2. go up a gear on the front sprocket, stock is 14, try a 15. 3. cool head, up your compression, 20cc domes should do the trick 4. either V-Force reeds or carbon fiber reeds with ported cages 5. timing advance 6. lighten the flywheel Run that set up till you have to rebuild the top end, then get her ported and polished with some Weisco pro lites, than your Toomeys will really shine. After this start some suspension mods. I guess what I'm getting at is IT NEVER EVER FRIGGIN ENDS. You get it running right than you fuck with something to make it go a friggin billionth of a second faster and you have to start over again cause all the other shit you just fucked with is now FUCKED UP TOO. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Whoa sorry, lost you a bit there. Umm, just have fun.
