  1. Hey Lee, reading your sig, who wins? Chuck Norris or Mike Ditka?
  2. Pro circuit for your application. You will have to rejet however. Mains and needle clips. Not a big deal. We'll walk you thorugh it.
  3. I've still got my first shee. My 99 I brought home on July 4 of 1999. Since then I've had three more. I've got 3 now, 2 ported (I bought 1 from NYUK) and the 99 which is stock with pipes and the usual stuff. I have purchased loads of stuff from members on here, NYUK, Bansh88, Jeff at F.A.S.T. Souva, and alot more, never had a problem, till I ran into lil Ronnie Sheepick. :yankyank: Oh well, live and learn. This site is outstanding. People from all walks of life to give you a hand in just about anything. I had a problem with my washer a few years ago and a guy in here advised me how to fix it. Great site, Lee, thanks.
  4. Bud, I was in your exact shoes when I bought my 99, in um, 99. Anyway, after much trial and error, and now that I have 3 Banshees I have some knowledge here. The order I would do your mods, on a stock machine is: ( buy a Clymers repair manual asap) 1. If you dont ride water/mud dual K and Ns', if you do get a pro design plate and foam filter for your air box 2. pipes of your choice 3. cool head with the domes of your choice 21's or 20's on a stock machine should do you good. 4. better rear tires. 5. port your stock cages and get some good reeds, TDR comes to mind, or some v-force reeds. 6. When your top end goes get it bored and ported and start over with carbs, a longer swingarm blah blah blah. It never ends.
  5. Where are you talking? I grew up in Middletown, I'd be willing to meet up and do some friendly drag racing. My son and I both have ported Banshees and my youngest guy has a stock bike with some stuff. Let me know.
  6. Pod K & N's are two seperate filters, one for each carb, you get rid of the air box so you flow more air. 340's with pods is about average on stock carbs. When I had my air box on with no lid I was running 320's at sea level. I noticed quite a difference when I ditched the air box tough. Thats why I "highly recommend' the pods.
  7. On my 99 with T-5's I run 20cc domes and run 50/50 race gas. As far as jetting goes I have pod K & N's (highly recommended!) with 340 mains and 27.5 pilots, dynoport needles with the clip in the middle.
  8. Good to hear your back up to speed big man. Like I told you on the phone the other day, if you need anything gimme a call. If you're gonna be out next weekend let me know. I'll swing by with the boys. Bob
  9. I'm pretty old school here, but I only drink Miller High Life. I bring home a 12 pack, pop one, throw two in the freezer and the rest in the fridge. I keep that rotation up until I'm done. usually 6-7. Dont really like booze per se, hate Whiskey, Bourbon and such. Only booze I like at all is Tanguray (SP?) and tonic with a twist of lime. Drink that rarely. Used to really like tequuilla when i was younger and working construction, got in too many "scrapes" while indulging in that crazy shit though. Give me a few beers, a camp fire in the pit with my family and friends and a grill and I'm good to go.
  10. Get some spacers and tap the clutch adjustment arm down with a hammer a bit to make em fit.
  11. Our prayers go out to you Willy. He'll be back, might take a little time, but he's a tough sum bitch.
  12. You dont need the friction plates. Look at your hub, there should be an arrow on there somewhere, maybe its a circle, I cant remember, but its something to draw your attention. Line that arrow up with the one on the basket and they'll fit together, snug.
  13. Nice bike!! I like the heat wrap on the stingers. What did you do that with? What did it cost you? Thanks.
  14. Just follow the black wire from the thumb throttle. Under the tank is a black connector (if memory serves me right). Just unplug that and you're good to go. I stood mine on my grab bar when I did mine. Makes things much easier.
  15. I'd bet its the TORS. Unplug em under your tank and you'll be good to go.
  16. IMO Banshees are made with 2 carbs for a reason. Dont switch to a 2 in 1. Is your parking brake and TORS unplugged? My 99 did the same as you described 2 summers ago and it wound up being the parking brake was screwed up. I unplugged it and that was the fix.
  17. I run it in my 94 at 40:1. Good oil. Get yourself a ratio rite cup, makes it easier.
  18. I would imagine the same as you experienced. Maybe you would have gotten some low end back by upping your pilots, probably not much though. My stock 99 has T-5's and my ported 94 has CPI's. Both run like a mofo. I wondered how the 99 would do with the CPI's, now I know. Thanks for the info.
  19. If it were me I wouldnt make the change. If your beating everything now with the t-5's why switch? Dont be like me and fix it till its broke. I seem to do that time and time again. Save the wear and tear on the CPI's and just keep running them T-5's. On a stock motor I'm not sure you'll even notice that much of a difference.
  20. You forgot the fountains of champagne in the front yard. Seriously, he's a friend from a while back, I thought it would be about half of that. The stuff I have now is from working my friggin balls off since I was about 12. Came from shit, with nothing, now I want more! lol..
  21. Hey, thanks for the replies fellas. The guy thats installing it I went to HS with. I've helped him out with a few things over the years and I used to work with him in the heating and air conditioning business. He has done work for me in the past at this house and my old house as well. He said its gonna be about a grand to install, I just felt that that price was pretty steep for someone you consider a friend. Shit, I do alot of shit for friggin free for my buds AND their families. Ah, it is what it is. Thanks again.
