  1. Get better rear tires before anything else. When I upgraded my 99 back in 2000 with the Toomeys I didnt notice what I thought would be a huge improvement until I got some better rear tires. They were one of the biggest improvements that I noticed until of course porting.
  2. Unplug your parking brake asap. That'll be next. Just follow the wire from the parking brake assembly and unplug it. You'll be good to go till you start gettin beat. Thats when the bucks start piling up. Congrats on your machine.
  3. Thats the filter system. It actually comes with two foam filters. One fits over the other. As far as tires I have just run RAZR's and have had no problems. They hook up anywhere. I have to say I dont ride alot of mud, so someone else may have to square you away with that issue. My guess for both mud and dirt would be some realtors. Any more questions ask away. Good luck.
  4. Dont forget better rear tires. With the new power your stockers will just spin. Believe me.
  5. I traded John (NYUK) 2 kids quads and about 1500 bucks for this bike.
  6. IMO the stockers are great little carbs. They outflow a stock machine and are cheap and easy to tune. You can find parts here for next to nothing from fellow members and they're easy to work on. Dont blow money on bigger carbs till you port your machine. my .02
  7. I would do the mods in this order; 1. keep the air box and get the pro design adapter plate and the uni foam filter set up 2. T-5's 3. cool head with 21's or 20's 4. better rear tires 5. v-force reeds When the top end goes get it ported when you get it bored.
  8. Good luck with everything. My prayers and best wishes are with you.
  9. I've run 20's on my 99 for 3 or 4 seasons. Have to mix 2 gallons of race fuel with 3 gallons of pump gas, no problems to date.
  10. Mines black and purple. Maybe it'll give you an idea.
  11. Congrats!! I'm hoping next year I get a Cub set up. Enjoy and post some pics.
  12. 330's do seem big. For a point of reference, on my 99 I have T-5's, stock port and with pods I'm running 340's. Toomeys will out perform CPI's on a stock port bike. At least thats what I have seen. How much are you losing by and how long is the drag? As far as gearing, it makes a big difference. He may have his flywheel lightend to let it rev a bit quicker. Just get yours ported and buy some carbs (33's or 35's) and the next time you race him dont tell him what you did and spank his candy ass.
  13. Outstanding looking bike. It's everything I want my shee to be. If you have the money jump on it.
  14. I use car domain. I just click on the pic I want, right click when it comes up. Then I copy and paste the "properties" tab. Then I minimize car domain, come here, click on the picture link and just paste the URL. Pretty easy.
  15. I'm assuming you now have pods and want to keep the over flow. On my 99 I took the stock air box, hacked off the housing for the air filter and just kept the rear section that holds the bottle. Bolted it back on the frame and threw the over flow back on. Took a total of about 10 minutes.
  16. I have an edit. Apoligies Big VIncent. On my 94 with a decent drag port I run 170 mains, 52 pilots, CEL needles on the #2 clip with CPI's and pods. On the 02 with a play port I run 165 mains, 52 pilots and a CGL needle on the #3 clip with SST's. Sorry for the mis-information. I have no idea how I pulled 155 mains out of my pea-brain. Maybe something to do with both having 52 pilots. Took me a while to dial in the 02 though. Still not perfect. My guess is I have to upgrade the pipes.
  17. I run 155's with the 33's on both Banshees.
  18. Agreed, but if you cant get it cleared up with the air screws you might wanna bump up your pilots to 27.5's.
  19. My guess is you know who took it. And they knew your bike. Think.
  20. Napoleon was great, Nacho Libre was horrible. Jack Black is not funny and hard to watch. IMO.
  21. 300-320 mains, 27.5 pilots, needle in the middle, air screws 1 and a half turns out. 280's seem really small.
  22. Geez, I dunno know about the gettin wiser stuff. I'm, ahem, 41 and I forget almost immediatley EVERYONES name that I meet. My kids sometimes have to show me how to do shit on the computer, I used to be pretty good at technical shit and now they beat my ass so bad at video games I dont even bother. But the gettin better toys shit, I got that down. I just picked up another, a 29 foot motor home, with you guessed it, a trailer hitch to tow the Banshees around. Next up is a Cheetah Cub and hopefully in a year or so a Buick Grand National. Oh and the wife just kinda leaves me be, been with that poor women for 21 years, shes goin straight to heaven after dealing with my stupid ass. As far as you being in your early thirties, man thats the best time. From about 26 or so up to where I am at now is outstanding. It just gets better.
  23. I have the same set up on my 99. T-5's, 340 mains, needle clip in the middle and 27.5 pilots. Air screws 1 and 1/2 turns out. Pulls hard in all gears.
  24. After I dump the fluid I usually put the lower radiator hose back on, keep the bolts off of the cylinders and flush the radiator with the garden hose for a few minutes, then take the lower hose back off and flush it a few more seconds.
