  1. Its a bumper to protect the sprocket, since I'm usually in front of everyone when I ride. J/K. It actually came in handy when I hit a tree and stopped short and my little guy ran into the rear of my bike at a pretty good clip. Bent the bumper a bit, didnt touch the sprocket/chain.
  2. Yup, 360's do seem big with fatties. I went with the 340's with T-5's and 27.5 pilots. Every ride is different.
  3. There you go. Try a set of outerwares and keep em clean.
  4. Are you using an outerware and are the filters properly oiled? I ask this because I went from a uni foam filter set up on my 99, now my sons, and I loved the foam set up. I check pretty thoroughly and I have yet to see anything after my K & N's. When I switched over I was real concerned about what you mention. I havent seen any debris to date.
  5. You'll see a pretty good increase in power with pods. When I put the pods on my sons 99 and jetted from 310's to 340's it was a significant power increase.
  6. Like I said, I bought a motor home with a hitch and my local spot is gonna be a housing/business complex. So I lost that spot. Where in the local area can I bring my sons and our three Banshees for a weekend. Does Meat still have a place out in PA, anyone else thats not too far of a ride? Thanks. Bob
  7. 1.) T-5's 2.) Pod filters with an assortment of jets, 300-350 should do on the mains and 25, 27.5 and 30 pilots 3.) Increased timing 4.) Increased compression, cool head or shave your stock head 5.) Better rear tires That right there is an outstanding start.
  8. Have a great one Bud. I knocked back enough for the both of us this weekend.
  9. Yamalube 32-1 in the 99 and 02 and Motul 800 in the 94 at 40-1. Typically Bel Ray gear saver 80W in the trans on all three bikes but picked up a case of ATF trans fluid at Wall mart and gonna run that this season and see how I do on all three bikes. Cant complain with yama-lube. Ran that in the 99 since I bought it new and just one top end rebuild to date. I ran the piss out of that bike till I gave it to my son and he beats on it too.
  10. Do you still have the TORS hooked up? If so unplug that, same goes for the parking break. Make sure the tube is connected between the two carbs as well.
  11. Get rid of the box and go with pods. Jet up acordingly. Start at 170's and work your way down.
  12. I know Toomey recommends using 280's but I would work from 320's down. My guess is you'll need at least 300 mains. When i had the pro flow I had the foam filter and ran 300s and the K & N probably flows a bit better than the foam.
  13. On my 99 with T-5s and pods I run 27.5 pilots and 330 mains. Sea level, 70-90 degrees it runs strong all the way through.
  14. Kongo is HUGE!! If he learns some ground skills he will be very hard to beat. Outstanding on his feet.
  15. WOW!! On a side note, my son was recruited by Minnesota for a wrestling scholarship (Minn is the number 1 ranked college for wrestling in the nation). They sent us out some airline tickets and when we were waiting for our flight at Newark airport (NJ) last month I saw Tito Ortiz in the airport. I told Luke (my son), where he was sitting and grabbed a coffee. Luke walked over to Tito and introduced himself. Tito said hello and asked him why he was there. The two got into a good 10 minute conversation about wrestling, martial arts, MMA and what not. Bottom line is Tito is a real good dude, took 10-15 minutes out of his day to talk to an 18 year old kid/fan. Just shows this is a great sport with good dudes involved.
  16. Did I damage the pilot? I chunked it up a bit trying to get it out with too small of a screw driver. I got the right size one and got it out but I noticed that some of the brass flaked off and there are some small gouges on said pilot. Nothing too big but is it screwed up? Thanks.
  17. If only added 1.5 quarts and you're sure you drained all the old fluid out just let it sit over night, start it up and let it warm up for about 5-10 minutes and you should be good to go.
  18. The Clymer manual actually says it takes 1.6 quarts. I usually fill mine up with about a quart and a half and check it when I'm riding. You're ok.
  19. I thought GRR made those. I may be wrong though. Ask NYUK, he has dealt alot with GRR. I have seen them before in here. They look alot like Shearers, as previously stated. I really like the turn downs on the silencers.
  20. Alright, gotta brag. The kid is the forth ranked wrestler in the 152 pound weight class in the nation among ALL HS WRESTLERES . YES #4 in the ENTIRE COUNTRY! If anyone knows wrestling out there you know what it takes. Anyway, Again, as a proud Papa, I'm FRIGGIN BRAGGING!!!. Oh well, sorry, he works his but off, he deserves some credit from us here. He's one of our own. Bob.
  21. Happy Birthday boy. 18. Man the time flew. You should all be so blessed to have a son as humble yet outstanding! Love ya Luke!
  22. Pull your carbs off and rip em apart. Clean your main and pilot jets real good with carb cleaner and some compressed air. Verify both mains and pilots match one another. Flip your reeds on your V-Force over and make sure the tension setting is the same on both. Reinstall your carbs and sync them so that both slides open at the same time when you hit the throttle. Insall brandy new plugs. Check compression on both cylinders. Disconnect your tors and parking break assemblies if you still have them and see where your at.
  23. A couple pictures of the 02. Silver plastics/orange frame.
  24. Coolant will spit out of that vent from time to time. I wouldn't run it over the motor unless you like the smell of antifreeze. Just run it to where it dumps behind your swingarm.
