John, are you talking about Dave?

Like the title says, I'm looking for a cool head. Dont want to have to take out the studs, I want the direct bolt in type, i.e. Noss, Twister crank, etc. The SST's are in good shape, not great but good.
-
I dont like graphics. Painted stock, cut plastics look the best IMO. If I were to get graphics on one of my bikes with black plastics I would get the white tribals, hands down.
-
Been in your shoes bud. I recommend pods on the stock carbs, better rear tires and a cool head. Sooner or later you'll get a cool head anyway , do it now and you can play with your compression. Money well spent.

Do they typically have more than one run a year?
-
How far is the poker run from Lock Haven? Lock Haven is exit 177 off of 80 (I think). Will there be room for a motor home?
-
Not with pods. 300 is too small with pods.

I need jetting help from the Oklahoma riders
Toomey Banshee replied to BansheeRider71's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
On my 99 with T-5's, v-force 2's, cool head with 20's we run 340 mains with pods and 27.5 pilots. I know CPI likes a bit of a bigger main then the Toomeys, hence the 330-360 suggestion. -

Your'e gonna need bigger mains. In the 330-360 area. -
On my 99 with T-5's when we went to pods we run 340 mains and 27.5 pilots and if my memory serves me right, the middle (third of six) clip on the needle. This bike runs real strong. Probably the strongest running/fastest stock stroke bike I have ever ridden. When we had the pro design plate and foam filter I'm pretty sure we had 300's and stock pilots, needle the same? That was a few seasons ago so I may be off on the needle clip. 300 sounds real small with pods.

Weisco. Have a set in the 99 going on 4 or 5 seasons now, no problems what so ever. Actually never heard of anyone having problems with Weiscos.

Chats is a friggin RIPOFF! My local spots have been closed down so I took a ride out there with my sons last summer. 3 Banshees, my sons are 18 and 15. Anyway I've only been there once many years before with my brother in law so we paid the 150 bucks for the friggin day, rented a chest protector for my 18 year old, his JUST broke, literally, and parked. Unloaded the shees and drove real slow to the first "track". I had no idea it was a kids track so once we realized it was (about 2 seconds in) we putted around it 2nd gear hugging to the extreme right. Some kid working the track with a severe authority complex started SCREAMING at my 15 year old about something, I was last so I putted up to him, took my helmet off (to show him I was an adult) and asked what the problem was. The KID screamed at me that we were on a kids track, I said sorry we didnt know and thats why we were going REALLY slow and we had literally 20 yards till we were off to explore more. He then said we all need long sleeve t-shirts, we had on t-shirts as it was about 95 degrees. I said we only had what we wore. He told me we needed to go back to the clubhouse and buy long sleeve t's or had to leave. What a bunch of morons. Snotty, authority complex dickheads. I gave them back their crappy chest protector and left. Really wanted to drill the 125 pound big mouth kid and the fat ass bunch of nerds working the desk with authority complexes, but I have bills to pay and kids of my own to show what not to do. Bottom line that place sucks. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE !!!

I would like to make a trip in the near future. Is there a place to maybe park a motor home and a trailer with a few banshees for a few days and enjoy or is it hit it and get out? -
HELP! Reving High, Stalling out, Back Firing
Toomey Banshee replied to flyRTby's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Agreed. I think its the TORS as well. Had the same problem years ago on my 99. Unplug that and your parking brake, that'll cause you problems next. -
Nope, plug wires yes, slides no

I have some SST's with power core II silencers. Looking to trade for some Banshee stuff. Maybe some sand tires on polished or black rims, front/back or a cool head and domes or something else. Pipes are in pretty good shape, bluing around the base, as usual, 1 minor ding about the size of half a peanut on one of the pipes Herss a pic on the bike last November.

Look at it this way. If you own your shee for a few seasons, chances are its gonna get ported. Once the top end goes and you get yer tailed whipped in a few drags with fellas with some porting your gonna want to get it ported, believe me. I have no experience with T-6's but my 99 has T-5s and is basically stock. It runs really strong. When the top end goes again its gonna get ported. And believe me, when I bought it new in 99 I said "nah, I dont need pipes or that other 'fancy' c crap, I'm fine with just the pleasure of owning a Banshee". 2 PORTED Banshees later with a decent amount of mods I'm thinking of whats gonna be next.
-
Exactly where I'm at with my 99. T-5's responded well with the pods and the bigger pilots.
-
Stock filter? If I remember right, when I had the airbox with the holes I had the prodesign plate and the foam 2 stage filter, I ran 310 mains, stock pilots with T-5's.
-
Did you unplug the tors and the parking brake, clean the carbs? My guess thats where the problem is.
-
Understood. If you are getting new pipes anyway, CPI's are a good choice. I just bought another set from NYUK and put them on the 2002 ported bike we have. Took off the SST's that were on there. With a dune port and if Jeff said you'll see a difference AND you need new pipes anyway then its a no brainer. Unless you wanna go with some Shearers. Good luck.
-
I currently have a bike with both. The T-5 bike is stock and the CPI bike is ported. Both great pipes. Toomeys sound better IMO. Cant comment much on any type of performance comparasion as they are on completely different motors. As far as spark plugs go, its easy to get at them. Just go in from the front , piece of cake. Unless your getting it ported and your builder tells you that you NEED the CPI's just stick with the T-5's. They really are a great pipe.

Picking up my Cheetah Cub tomorrow ?
Toomey Banshee replied to smuttdawg's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
On my 99 and 02 we run yamalube. The 99 I bought new and it has been bored just once and that was because of a crank seal failure/leak. I rode the piss out of it and now my son does. Its a good product in my book. On my 94 I run motuls for no other reason than the builder recommeded it. -
I had the exact opposite on my 99 with just T-5s, V-force II's and a cool head. Pretty noticible performance increase when I took the air box out and went to K&N pods and jetted accordingly.

The bike in my sig is painted and has been for about 5 years or so. It needs to be redone, maybe this winter, but it held up really well. The back fenders near the bolt holes by the seat is showing some cracks but other than that it still looks outstanding.
