Whoa, I would say yes. 90 psi is very low, I typically rebuild at 100psi. And a new motor will usually test to 125psi with stock heads at sea level. Also though, do you know if the compression tester is right? Some of these new cheap testers don;t work so well, and a few people have had issues with them. If those are in fact the right values I would pull the cylinders and take them to a machinist, or measure them out yourself with a bore gauge and see if your going to need a rebore or just a hone and rings. Could save you a couple bucks if the bores arent too bad.

Hmm, I always remember hearing it the other way... Ive never been a big fan of reed spacers for perfomance reasons, and I only ever ran them on one bike, and they were placed with the cylinder/spacer/reed, I remember the directions saying that was the way to run them. I could be wrong though.

Hey, put an outline or a picture of a Banshee on one and I'll buy one. None of the poeple I work with know what a Banshee Headquarters is unless they see a picture of it. I would love to see a black hoody with yellow lettering/picture.

I'm really anal on my bikes, so I tighten everything to 5ft-lbs, than 10, then 15, then 20 in the pattern specified in Clymer's. Ive never had a head gasket, or or-ing kit leak in the 5 top ends Ive done. If you have a straight edge you may want to double check the cool head and tops of cylinders to make sure they havent warped.

Typically people put the spacer on the cylinder side of the reed valve, so the second(lower) picture would be correct. In theory anyway the extra space is supposed to allow the fuel to better mix or something to that effect. In actuality, the reed spacers mainly help with carb clearance issues either on the clutch arm or with your intake setup so the placement really doesn't matter too much because the reed spacers won't give you much of a performance gain to begin with.

PT Mids will fit as well as the High Revs. DOn't let the names fool you though, PT mids are more of a low end pipe, and theyre high revs are a more mid range pipe. I run PT Mids on my bike, and I do some fairly tough trail riding and Ive never had any issues, they run really decent, I like them better than any other pipe Ive had. I don't beleive anything other than Rockets or PTs will fit the RZ jugs. New PTs are damn expensive, especially if you want chrome. Try and find a used set if you want to save a little coin, you can have them PCed with high temp stuff or even ceramic coated and theyll look pretty good. Good luck on your build, and def post up some pics, Ive wanted to do an RZ build for a while, but I just havent been able to find the parts.

The lugs are only 14mm, and a 9" extension and ratchet should do the trick.

Who's going to be doing the engine work for ya? I have a set of cases, and cylinders, but I was looking for someone to sell me the crank/carbs/kit, and do the head and portwork for me. I'm probably a month or so away, but I guess it's a good a time as any to start looking.

A few people on here used to run the 404 Vito's kit. It's a good play/trail kit, and can definately make some good power. I forget what these things go for new, but if you check Vito's I don't think the ebay price is a heck of deal, but I could be wrong. I probably wouldn't use this setup for drag or anything like that, but I have thought about doing one with a 4mil crank for a while, makes for a nasty trail bike.

I agree!! Splitting them isnt too difficult, but for putting them back together you will def need a manual which will list the tightening sequence and torque specs for all the case bolts. Clymer is the best engine manual Ive ever read, if you follow it step by step and look at the pictures everything is spelled out very nicely. Good luck, and if you run into any problems post 'em up.

I don't think anyone is saying only site sponsors are worthy of doing Banshee work, they just happen to be the most used and trusted on this board. So it is easy to recommend them, and they have been proven here to do high quality work. Now, I shouldn't have ragged on the dude so bad in my original post, but if you are selling a product or service, it will bring you much more credibility if you take the time to set up a web site that is easy to use, factually correct, written somewhat clearly, and punctuated correctly. Someone who doesn't even take the time to set up a web site that barely meets those standards seems to me like someone who doesn't mind cutting corners, and I more than likely wouldn't use them. I think that's the crux of this argument. Here's my logic: I don't know these dudes personally, and I'm sure not going to fly down to FL to have a cup of coffee with them, so the website is all I would have to go on before buying parts from them, and that doesn't make a great first impression by any shot. I would much rather buy from somewhere else, as I think most people would agree. Which is what the OP was asking.

Awesome, thanks bro, I heard, a while back, that some of the hot rods were mis-stamped. I don't know how you could tell, but I was worried this might have been one of them, I gotta throw the calipers on it tomorrow and make sure it is what is says I guess. Thanks again!!

Just a quick look at the site makes me think that dude is a total tool bag!! Seriously, Product's?!?! I'm not the best speller in the world, or a web design genius, but come on, my 5 year old nepehew could make a site better than that. On a side note, what is the deal with the BansheeDude? I've seen his local ads here, seems like a couple of Strong Island cats, but Ive never had the good fortune of dealing with them.

Hey, I bought a lot of parts today, and I got a Hot Rods crank with the number CK 121 B on the rod. I was wondering if anyone knew a site where I can check out what the number means. I'm going to throw my caliper on it tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a site or just knew what the numbers indicate? I looked at the Hot Rods site but couldnt find anything.
