Roundslide VS. Flatslide Carbs
LiftdT4R replied to bansheeman1988's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Yeah, I have D-Slides too. I'm sure there is some technical difference, although I never noticed a power difference. The thing I prefer most is it makes it impossible to put them back together wrong. -
32 parts to 1 is the same whether your using liters or gallons. You would just use 1 liter of oil to 32 liters of gas.

Lonestar -3 roundhouse swingarm
LiftdT4R replied to Washburn's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
That would be a nice MX setup for someone. Lonestar makes nice stuff too. Bump for ya bro! -
^^ Like he said, you need a ratio rite mix cup. Basically the 32:1 which is a good mix ratio and what most people run is like taking 32 gallons of gas and mixing in 1 gallon of oil. Now obviously you really can't do that unless you have a big drum, so you would do like 1/32 gallon of oil to 1 gallon of gas. The cup has lines on it that will tell you where to fill it to for what ratio, and how many gallons of gas your mixing it with. Or you could grab one of mom's measuring cups and a pencil and paper. She might get mad though, I got hit with the wooden spoon for that.

Ohhhh man, that's a good one. :yelrotflmao: You got mirrors in your pants? Cause I can see me in them. You know what I really want in a girl? Me.

Definately getting gas into the cylinders. I looked at it about 15 minutes ago, and I noticed that the idle screws don't seem to move the slides up and down. So, anyway, gonna make an ass outta myself, but I took off my twist throttle and put on a thumb throttle through all of this. I'm guessing that the Motion Pro Twist and the stock thumb don't use the same cable........? It looks like the slides sit too high in the bore, and sice the bike revs to the moon with the start spray, and the idle screws do nothing, I'm thinking maybe thats what happened. It's nasty out here today, but I might go out later tonight, or tomorrow and change out the cable. I was thinking its somsehting really really dumb because Ive done carbs about 20 or so times now, and have had 0 problems.

Damn, that sucks. Tell him best of luck when you see him! I'd go crazy out there all alone with no power.

No I havent tried the choke screw, I never really messed around with it, I'll have to take a look, but Ive never touched it and it always ran fine. The slides look to be maybe about 20-30mm from the bottom of the venturi to the highest point of the ridge. They look fine. They are also in the bore correctly, with the cutout pointing back towards the air box. That's one of the first things I checked. Also, the choke tube IS there. I can't for the life of me figure out whats going on, and I'm about done for tonight. It seems like the fuel isnt making its way into the cylinders, but the bowls fill up, and all the jets are clean as a whistle, and so are the carbs. The bike ran 100% on spot, with the exception of being a little too rich, and the only thing I took apart were the carbs. I dont know what the hell I did, but there's gotta be somethin wrong.

Custom built from ground up!

Noice!!!!! I wouldnt part with that bitch. -
Pilots are clean as a whistle, in fact, everythign I could take apart and clean, I did. The floats are at the correct height, 21mm. What do you mean by choke screw? Just where the choke screws into the carb body? If so, it is clean, and a little better then finger tight. Also, the bike revs to the moon with the start spray(I think because the shits so flammable). That shit is bad news, but I like to use it to trouble shoot.

Just pulled the reeds. They look perfect. Choke tube is on, done that before. Also, the floats line are parallel to the carbs when the bowl is off, and the fuel valves looks to be in good shape. All the clamps are tight, and I'm pretty sure all the gaskets are good. Like I said, it ran just about perfect before I took the carbs apart. Spark looks fat too. Like 91banshee said, it would seem that it's starved for fuel, but I'm not seeing how, the bowls do fill up with gas, and the idle is set at about half way, I've even tried starting it with the slides up higher, and nothing. I'm fuckin lost on this one.

Ohh yeah, stock needles on the middle clip.

Allright, I've been monkeying around with this thing for a week now, and we're due for some snow this weekend and it still won't run. I took apart the carbs because the 270s I had were a little rich, and I wanted to bump back down to 260s. Mods are LRD pipes, and full w/ full airbox at sea level, around 32-50 degrees. Have the 27.5 pilots, about 1.5 turns out on the screw, and I have the carb sych tool from Jeff too, and the TORS is removed with the kit. The bike ran on spot, a little rich before I pulled the carbs apart. Now that it's back together it won't run at all even if you kick it all day long. The slides are in correctly(cut out towards the back), bowls are on the right sides(one with the jet on the choke master side), and I througholy cleaned the carbs before I put them back together. I started it once with the spray(bad idea I know), and it ran until the spray burned off and then died. Wouldnt keep running even with the slides open. I get plenty of spark too, plenty of gas, and the petcock is on. I'm at a loss here. Is it maybe the reeds, I'm going to check them in a few, but I don't see how cause it ran fine since it was together last time. It also has plenty of compression, 120PSI in both cylinders. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm not getting very far here, I've had the carbs apart and back together about 5 times in the last week to check and double check.

Is Powder coating stock a arms possible?
LiftdT4R replied to afireblade929's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yeah, you can, but like the above posters said make sure you get someone that knows what theyre doing. It's not gonna be cheap either. I've heard a lot of bad stories about the ball joints getting baked, you really need to put a lot of heat tape around them before you cook the the arms. How old are the arms anyway? The BJs on my stockers didn't last very long doing trails. I know I wouldnt dish out any $$ on the stockers just to have the BJs go out in a year or two and have the arms be junk. I would probably end up painting them if they looked bad, a lot cheaper. Otherwise, you can find used +2+1s for around 200. -
Im not big on cars, but nice Yota! I want to test drive one of the new FJs, I'm kind warming up to the looks. My 4Runner is going to have to be replaced in the near future, and I would really miss the rear locker if I bought another one. The price is right on the FJ too, and I've heard they make decent power.

Hahaha, I see someone beat me to the gun reference, I was gonna say 12 gauge Mossberg. Yeah, I don;t trust the Kryptonite locks, I heard the same thing about the picking them with a Bic pen on the news a while back. I just use a standard chain and lock through the sprocket hub and the frame that way it can't be rolled. If someone is still going to steal it after that, I figure they were probably going to steal it anyway.

Same as any banshee 02 to present.(added the brake light then) Either way, I wouldnt spend 8 gs for a stock shee even if it was brand new.

damn, that sucks.....

Ohh, nobody is saying you should accept damaged parts. It just seems like this dude made no effort to contact the people that sent him the damaged parts to make things right, he also names no names. Shit, if someone sends me a carrier with some fucked up bearings and doesnt tell me, and won't make it right, I'm posting their name and address up here, and I might even make a trip. Instead he just makes a post like this that he is "dissapointed" with the forum.

That's kind of what you should generally expect when buying something used. If it turns out better, great, but it shouldnt be expected. If it is that important that it needs to be perfect, I tend to buy new.
