4.0 IMS tank. This was my first and only chovie, they mount up nice, and give you a few extra gallons, nice for long trail rides. You will need bar risers though. I have renthal stock bends, and they rubbed the tank. Throw on 1" bar risers, and your set to go!

If it's any help, I picked up the yz80 in my sig for $400, that price seems a little bit steep to me, you know your going to have to end up buying some sort of parts for it. The parts are what kills me on the older bikes. I spent $60 for the little plastic chain skid n the front of mine.

Ehhhh, I wouldnt compare it to a McLaren either. The f1s are built for mostly street driving, and while they are cpable of high speeds, from the factory they have to be setup for all around performance. I bet the McLaren would be faster in a quarter mile. Doesnt Indy Car have rolling starts? I bet that their quarter mile times would be disspointing, but I'm not sure about the 10 sec. mark, I would not know.

Stuff for Sale with Pics
LiftdT4R replied to firefighterjosh's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Consider the AC Racing Pegs SOLD!! Just let me know how you want payment! -
God damn dude. I'd be pissed, is this the same stolen post that wa in the For Sale section this morning? You should chain them up or something, quads are way too easy to push away.

Ok, I looked everywhere, and all I could find were complete cultch housings with a Lexan insert. I don't have a lockup clutch, and I just wanted to add a Lexan cover to make maintenance a little easier, so I couls see the condition of the clutch, level/quality etc. I was wondering if anyone new of a place that just sold a Lexan insert? Thanks,

Hey, what's up? I need the kicker, and kick boss, pretty much, the whole kick start assmebly you see from the outside of the bike. Also, got any uncut blue plastics, I need just a rear, but depending on what you have, I might need it. Thanks man, EDIT: ohh yeah, I need lights too, let me know what ya got.

Thanks for the advice, wish there was some sand around here! Yeah, road rash sucks, especially when the bitch at medimerge is half blind, and tries to pick rocks out of it with a tweezer. I've given up on trying to wheelie down my street, too painful, and my lawn is shredded, so I'm gonna hold off for a while.

banshee firinng on 1 cylinder %80 of the time. Please help!
LiftdT4R replied to fastLANE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I was gonna say, do the leakdown test, I had a similar problem last year, and it was an air leak, due to the crank seals. Save yourself time, and aggrevation and do the leakdown test. Your jetting seems perfect, it's not that. Also, did you look, at the carbs, and clean them out? Could be dirt or something in the one, and the slide might be sticking closed. Just a though. LEAKDOWN TEST IT THOUGH. dajogejr, I like how you snuck in the new truck in the background of the banshee pic. -
You know, if someone here was close, I would trade my 2002 Banshee for a Blaster plus some cash. I don't like the new front style though, it would have to be the older one with the square head light. I'm going to have to ditch 02 when my 01 is done, so I'll have something that a buddy or chick could ride, if they decided to come up to NY, the bansh definately won't cut it, and I've never owned a blaster, but it seems like a good, solid quad though. Either way, good luck with your trade/sale, just wanted to let you know, that there are people out there that would trade for a blaster. Good luck,

Damn bro, good luck, that sucks a lot. If you have a pic, I would definately post that, along with the area of the country your in. I bought an '02 with pipes last month, and I have seen at least 2 02s for sale in NJ. If you can't post pics, PM me, and I'll post it for you. Good luck bro,

:yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Dude, I know exactly what your talking about, we get them every year in Upstate NY, they usually come up once, and you never see them again. When I had my Craptor 660, this dude had a brand new 700, with all sorts of shit, and that ass hat ran into me from behind going down a hill, shatter my rear brake light, and fucked up his bumper. I was pissed, but I didn't say anything. Every fuggin' time we would get out on the road, he had the thing bouncing off the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, wide open, I guess that's the only way he knew when to shift. He blew up the bike a few months later I found out, and now he's into street bikes because quads are "for pussys who don't want to ride on the road". Hope I come across him while I'm out on my R1 one day.

How the f did I miss that one!

I would say the biggest downside would be using them with stock arms. If you go +2 arms, the length on them is perfect. If you go with the stock arms, it does make the front end sit a little higher, and will stress the ball joints a little more(not sure of any long term reliability issues here though. Also, just the actual modding is a little bit of a PITA. I havent riddenmy YFZ shocks yet, but I havent heard anyone on here say they ride like shit. Just my .02
-
If you know it's been covered why would you post about it again? Just kidding bro, the convo is always good here. I just bought a set of 450 shocks, because I have heard soo much good stuff about them. From what I know they sem to work better on extended arms, rather then stock, aslo, a member here, Shane, does a re-valve? on them which seems to work much better. I have heard they are on par with elkas, and are definately worth it for the money. Price was a big factor in my decision, I picked up a set for $200 shipped over at Planet Sand. There is a good amount of info and reviews here for them, so you might want to check that out too. Good luck, The YFZ shock is re-buildable too, and can be valved for your weight. The work to install them isnt bad if you have aftermarket arms. Just my .02.

Hey, I don't want to take advantage of your good will, but would you mind running my 2 VINs for me? I never had a title with either one, but I've had them both registered at one time, so I would ass-u-me they were good. Thanks man!

I'm with you dude! I don't vote, but I don't complain either, if your going to complain about soemthing, you had better go and do something about it, not just complain for the sake of complaining. I think your statement was a very fair non-partisian approach though, you don't see that too much these days! -
I'd post in the jetting forum, they will be able to give you a more exact main size there. You can plug chop, which is in a FAQ at the top of the jetting page. Generally after I have about 3 or 4 horus on a pair of plugs, I will pull them, if they are too light, it's too lean, if they are the same color as a paper bag they are perfect, if they are too ddark it's too rich. This isnt very accurate, but it suffices if you know you are in the right area. Sounds like you really leaned the thing out with a possible air leak, and defiantely from being too small on the mains. I run 260s on an airbox with a lid, so I know you are too too lean on the mains. Good luck, hope you can get away with just pistons this time. Also check BigRed350xs splitting the cases thread, it shows you how the pistons should look when the bike is setup right. Very very accurate picture.
-
You have pods with stock carbs and your running 280 mains?? If so, you ARE LEAN!! I ran 320s with FMF pipes, and no lid on the airbox. With pods you should be around 330-360, somewhere in there. I would say start with the jetting, it's definately too too lean, and then go from there, you can't re-use the o-rings for the cool head, I don't know if you did or not, but they won't seal up right. So I would also check for an air leak too. Good luck bro!
