  1. zero preload shocks use a lighter weight spring that compresses when you sit on the bike. This keeps the weight off the main springs. Its like having a bunch of suspension sag while also having stiffer springs. This lets you have more controll through the little bumps and also be able to hit the big jumps without bottoming. You can adjust the ride height on most shocks, but aftermarket shocks have more height adjustment. Adjusting the preload on a shock gives you a slightly stiffer/softer spring rate. Basically all your doing when you raise the ride height is compressing the spring which makes it stiffer and able to support the weight better. http://www.elkasuspension.com/ http://www.danacreechracing.com/categories/pep-1.html http://www.customaxisshocks.com/atv.htm http://www.tcsracing.com/ http://worksperformance.com/
  2. Yeah, I have a cascade too. I think they're one of the better seat covers out there right now. They last forever and are pretty easy to keep clean.
  3. It would be pretty badass to put one of those motors in a rigid drag frame. I cant beleive nobodys done it yet. I wish I had about 10 or 15 thousand $'s laying around, I'd be all over it.
  4. I think he's talking about spinning each arm upside down. It would move the wheels forward a little. I may be wrong though.
  5. Yeah, front and rear honda style. I dont need yamaha just honda, I would like the wheels to be the stock aluminum kind. Like I said, the cheaper the better.
  6. I just ride it easy till the pipes are too hot to touch, also if it breaks up when your WOT then its not probably warm enough yet.
  7. Like the title says I need a full set of honda style tires and wheels. Dont want LTR wheels though, Im looking for something cheap to put on my YFZ for riding dirtroads and trails. Would like for the tires to be in decent shape and would love for the wheels to be black. If anybody has any let me know, or if you know where I could get a set for cheap hit me up with a link. Thanks for any help.
  8. Im gonna wait and download the bootleg version off the internet for free.....
  9. I raced one with my piped 450 on dry hardpack grass, he beat me by maby 3 lengths. He got most of that off the start. He claimed to have over 3k in the motor, had the tires studded and a jockey. He thought he was so badass beating my stock 450. If I could've hooked up on the start I could of atleast stayed with him if not beat him. But I would hate to see how bad he would outrun my banshee off the start.
  10. You gotta post up some pictures or a link or something. :yelrotflmao:
  11. I dont know what to say about this. I cant decide if its right or slightly off. I know it not real life numbers but they still seem a little high. Engine RPM: 11000 Front Sprocket: 17 Rear Sprocket: 42 Actual Tire Height: 21 *Miles Per Hour 1st: 39.41 *Miles Per Hour 2nd: 53.53 *Miles Per Hour 3rd: 64.66 *Miles Per Hour 4th: 77.59 *Miles Per Hour 5th: 92.82 *Miles Per Hour 6th: 110.85
  12. we should turn this into a what not to do to a banshee thread. Or maybe instead of jacking this one just make a new one. What do you guys think?
  13. My dads got a set he uses for sand. I like pro wedge 2's better though, the ribs dont fold over as bad.
  14. this guys a perfect example of what not to do to a banshee. Shark bumper and raptor plastics.
  15. I guess it depends on who makes the ones you get. A while back when we used to drag race all the time I saw alot of banshees with extensions. Some of them had some pretty strong motors in them. I agree with the no dune thing but for just drag they would be perfectly fine.
  16. depends, if you like cut fenders go for it if you dont then leave them. Doesnt really matter in sand.
  17. Do you know when your gonna try it?
  18. depending on what type of riding you do it might not be a good idea to get the plastics painted. If you ride trails or mx, a graphics kit would hold up way better. For sand paint should be fine.
  19. Depends on how custom you want. Most will let you pick the colors you want but not the design. http://goforitgraphics.com/ http://www.motographx.com/ (geared more toward bikes but you could probably get some made for a banshee) http://www.invisionpowersports.com/CustomPackages.html http://www.whiteknucklegraphx.com/index.html All you gotta do is get on yahoo and type in custom atv graphics and you can choose your favorite.
  20. Dude, just stop voicing your opinion. Your not going to get anything out of it other than pissed off members. I bet a deisel banshee would kill on trails. If I saw one riding around puffing smoke I would def. do a double take and then want to race it. lol Props for being the first to "go there" with a banshee firehead. Its gona be sick if you really do it.
  21. Yeah, but you gotta remember that its two different companys and their parts arent always gonna fit.
  22. heres a picture, and its only gay if your not man enough to modify something yourself.
  23. There are some awesome products this year. Check it out! http://www.atvriders.com/gallery/2008-indy...lery/index.html
  24. I think I read about somebody having the same problem as you. Just cut holes for the nerfs to fit through the skid and mount em up.
