Only bore the cylinders if there is damage that needs to be cleaned.. if your looking to freshen up the topend and you still have factory pistons.. then I would use Pro-X pistons. Wiseco pistons would need the bore properly setup to run them.
IMO... Hone and a set of Pro-X
This is what I'm using.. other then my basket is a hinson.
I've have tried a slingshot in the past.. While it worked well.. It was a pain because everytime I had to get into the clutch pack I had to remove the cover.
WSM is my preference for forged. I'm going to try wossner next.
I've used Pro-x cast pistons in my PTR national ported motor with 19cc domes for years with zero issue.
Quality did my chassis, head, wheel hubs, brake hub, rotor hub, clutch cover and center caps. Awesome work on all of it. i wouldn't hesitate for one minute to have him do more work for me. Well worth my 3 hr drive.
Yah, it must be a figment of my imagination. Just look through the for sale section. A lot has been repaired, welded on or damaged in some way from poor fitment and quality. Its not just a "few" people. I've personally bought 4 new sets of pipes and one used set..(got pics of all of them) All but one had issues and there are 5-10 guys that I ride with that have had issues.. Funny its the same few guys preaching perfect fit.. I think your in the minority on this issue. Not much more I can add to this thread without being repetitive . So i'm done. If you wish to discuss more about the issues I and others have had. Feel free to catch me in the shout box.
Fit and finish on a shearer is total garbage, along with his customer service... I dont recall that being related to any current topics being discussed.. and its not being doubted... I will never put another shearer on any of my builds and I have 3 going this winter. I'll gladly leave HP on the table to deal with someone that cares about the customer after the sale. Dont try to tell me about your past experiences and everything you've heard or seen. Like I said in your other post. Not everyone has the same experiences as you. When you get told "I've already lost too much on these pipes, I can't do nothing" call me and tell me you'll do business with that person again. At least Trinity sent you a new motor...
Now you've heard from one of the "fit and finish" cheerleaders
