  1. Well I figured he might be doing some trail riding also.. but I forgot he's putting on a +4 swingarm and that wouldn't be to trail freindly.. So I agree with CPI
  2. As far as speed/power goes its going to be awhile before anything will threaten the banshee.
  3. I would say it depends on what you would be doing more of. If your gonna do more dune riding then draging I would say T5's, More dragin then duning CPI. All out drag Shearer. Just my 2 cents.
  4. I agree, Not quite the top end of the shearer or cpi's but have alot more midrange wich makes them a pretty versilte pipe. And no more burnt legs as a bonus.
  5. $1000 to rebuild the head?? Over size valves installed, head ported and all new seals and guides with HD springs run under $1000. My 450 is a 04 and is no where near in need of any head componets. I tear my head down after each season and Inspect it. All componets looks as good as the day I bought it. I havn't even needed to change my valve shims becuase clearance is still at factory spec. and they recommend valve adjustment every 10 hrs. Only thing I've done is put new seals in because I was in there anyways and that was 35.00. I'm not saying the 450 is better then a banshee I'm just saying with proper maintainence both machines are very reliable. And both machines will cost the same to maintain in the long run.
  6. I've always liked PEP myself, But both are good shocks.
  7. I got both, Banshee and 450. I'll get beat up on this one I'm sure... I have more fun on my 450 doing everything but dragin. When it comes time to line up, I go get the shee. I have no problem beating lightly modded banshee on the strip with my 450 but I get my share of getting beat too. 450's are not designed to be dragers, they were designed to have great handling and quick exceleration which makes them ideal for everything except drag racing. I just find the 450 to be a more versitle machine. I think both motors are realiable with proper maintainece. Just my opinion.. Dont hurt me too bad.
  8. I use the tusk springs. they're half the price of barnett. I'm guessin you dont have alot of mods done. You should be able to get away with 3 HD springs and 3 stockers.
  9. In my opinion it would depend on what type of riding your going to do most. Sure the banshee can make more power but on a track the 250r will be faster.
  10. shayne.... but people like to call me homer
  11. I'm pretty sure you can use boyessen reeds but if you hog out the bridge then you have to use pro series reeds. As far as springs go I think you can get Tusk HD springs from RMATV for 6 buck or somthing like that. Depending on what your getting done you should be fine with 3 stock and 3 HD springs. That was the set-up I always used and I never had mine slip.
  12. I'm near bay city. Just need a longer chain, roundhousing carrier and a new brake line. Oh and some pivot bearings
  13. Alot of maintainence with alky, gotta purge after each ride.
  14. I got a swingarm from wildwest welding and there was a problem with the pivot tube so I sent it back and they sent me another one. I was pressed for time so I bought another swingarm from Jeff at F.A.S.T. So now I got this one back from Wildwest and I dont need it anymore. So its bare steel and never been installed. It had a little bit of rust starting from the high humidity, I knocked it down with some steel wool. I'm askin $110 shipped.
  15. Yes they will fit with some minor grinding. Was that so bad??
  16. I dont think its really needed but I usually use low strength just to be safe. Just my personal preference
  17. I shipped skat-trak haulers through fed ex.. they had the better rate from what I found.
  18. I just installed a stage 2 hotcam and a Hotcams HD spring set on a 01' raptor and I set the valves to spec. I was just wondering if the stage 2 cam with the HD srpings would cuase more valve noise then the stockers? I'm getting a bit more valve noise now then before and I just want to make sure everything is ok. I double checked everything I could think of. I tend to second guess myself when I work on 4-strokes.
