  1. Same thing happend to me about 2yrs ago.. Turned out I got in a hurry and forgot the lil' O-rings on the studs.. :: Probably not the same cause but might be related to the O-rings. Just a idea
  2. I was using Cator 927 @ 50:1 I'll be trying KLOTZ Benol this year and see how things look compared to the 927.
  3. Frame looks killer Brad.. Make sure you keep the pics coming!! I can't wait to see it finished.
  4. I'm in... Just give me a date. Late September or early October works for me. Anniversary is Sept. 21.. Dont think the wife would let me leave her at home that weekend while I travel 1100 miles.
  5. Here is what I did to move my CDI to the front of my drag bike. The plate cost me 10.00 but I had it laying around from when I used to have a key.. So it didn't cost me anything extra.
  6. I get 20% off at my dealership for being a AMA member. www.stevenscycle.com Funny.. .that was the same discount I got for working there.....
  7. I bought some quick disconnect fuel lines from Direct Drive. Used my old coolant bottle as a tank and put a T on it with 2 more disconnects. Disconnect the fuel line between the tank and carbs connect it to your fuel bottle and your done.. PURGE ON!! Should only have to purge a min or two. You'll be able to tell when your done.
  8. Brand new EK SRX X-Ring chain for a +8 swingarm 134 links. Never used or mounted and comes with a new master link. 80.00 shipped
  9. I would just run the stock CDI. My builder told me to run the stock CDI also. If I had a extra $350 I would probably get a dyna box for shits and giggles. Its not gonna hurt, and it will produce a better spark.
  10. I'd get chrome. I had bare T-5's once and I'll never have a bare pipe again. I painted them with Hi-Temp paint and it flaked off and looked like shit again. Chrome is very durable and the chrome that you get on the PT's is the best looking chrome job I've ever had. I like the chrome better then my show chormed shearers.

Wes.. All you had to do was ask.... What size you want? 40, 42, or 45's?
  12. My Fat Boy4 from Duncan rang in right around 96 last time I got checked at the dunes.
  13. I searched and couldn't find anything but some reviews on WSM's most people say they havn't had problems. I think "spotty luck" goes for ANY piston. Since my builder recommended them, thats good enuf for me to give them a try. I presonally dont care for wiseco pistons. I'm not saying there a bad piston, I just havn't had good luck with them over that last few years. But to answer his question, I would think if it was the stock piston on the stock bore and he just honed it. Then I think he should use the stock piston. If he uses a wiseco I believe his piston gap will need to be corrected as the wiseco's need more clearance then the stock casted pistons. JMO I could be wrong..
  14. I'm using WSM pistons this year. Never used them before so I guess I'll be finding out how good they are.
  15. If you polished them then your fine. Its powdercoating them thats supposed to be a problem because of the oven temps. Mike at cascade told me of the problem with powdercoating cubs and then I called millenium plating to double check and they basicly said the same thing. I think millenium has plated a few cubs in there day.. they might know a thing or two about nikasil. They told me that if you trust the coater and tell him to set the oven down to 300 you'll be fine.
  16. If anyone needs a set of replacement reeds let me know. I got a brand new set just sitting in my tool box.
  17. Yeah thats kinda what I was thinking. There has to be alot of people powdercoating there cubs.. you think alot of the builders would know about this type of problem if it is that big of a problem.
  18. I heard from a shop that powdercoating is bad on the nikasil in cubs. So I called a few builders and none of them have heard of this problem. Jeff @ F.A.S.T gave me the number to millenium. I called them and they said that temps over 350 changes the molecular structure of the nikasil and could cause it to bubble. I wish someone would have told me this :: So I figured I'd give you guys a heads up before you powdercoat your cylinders.
  19. I'd like to see any of Nate McCoy's motors run... I dont know of anyone running his motors over here.
  20. At least you got a frame  Mine is still at the powder coating shop, and I only have the lower case lol. I'm gonna bust my ass though and try to get it done on time. Everything should be piling in this week. My pipes are on their way back to me, and a whole slew of other stuff. Seems like I'm always in this situation. I can recall 3 or 4 times of me hauling my bike over in boxes and puting it together in the trailor. By the sounds of things there is a few of us in pretty rough shape this year. Oh well, all part of the game I guess
  21. Yeah I know but my cuz is a tight ass and don't want to spend the coin for a new set. If that wasn't the case I'd sell him my new Boss set and get the white knuckles myself. I guess I'll just keep watching ebay.
