  4. Sorry to Hi-jack this thread.. I'm not eactly a lightweight either. I'm over 210. Yeah there is a bunch of stuff on my bike thats not needed. I think if you were to wiegh our bikes they would be very close. I've been runnng the motor VERY conservative because I mostly dune drag. I should beable to break it into the 4.1's with some tuning. I was @ 4.221 last time at Bobs and my 60ft time was horrid. So I'm crossin my fingers. I've hit 4.14 in albright but I dont know if it was legit, the next time at the track we were running down a mud strip so I didn't really get a good chance to try and back it up. We'll see how it runs this weekend. I leaned it back some and bumped the timing up from 7-8 to about 11-12 and made some gear changes. I was crossing the line in 4th.

  11. Kinda what I was thinking.. But make sure you check your piston/cylinder gap is set to wiseco specs. They tend to be more loose then stock casted pistons.
  12. What does it say for a MM? like 64.5mm or 65mm? Just wondering what the MM is..

  15. Today 4 stroke atv engines have no problem spining high RPM's. My 450's rev limiter is 12,500. I dont think I've seen a ATV/Dirt bike single cylinder 2 stroke engine of that size carry that kind of RPM. I'm not 100% sure but I think a yz250F is making about the same power as a trx 250r (Stock/piped) I agree with firehead.. Reliabilty/longevity of the motors comes from the extra lubrication/cooling from the oil system. But.. you do have extra maintainence with the 4 strokes. Valve train's
  16. It should. Gap should be set about .017 Just stick a feeler guage in there and close the pickup coil onto the guage and tighten it down.
  17. Yes that would cause the problem you are talking about, because your gap would be too big.. Happy to hear you found the problem. :thumbsup:

  20. I'd run 21cc domes... 20cc domes will put you right near the limit and If you have your timing advanced it could be a problem.
  21. I've owed a predator.. The problem with the predator wasn't the powerplant. It was the weight! them things were so damn heavy.. and on top of that the gear ratio's were WAY to far apart. If they could get that machine down to around 380 or so it would be a whole lot faster. I really liked my Pred though.. it wasn't a drag racer by anymeans.. but it sure did beat the hell out of my banshee in the trail department.
  22. I noticed you said you put in a timing plate.. You might want to double check your pickup coil gap.
