brand new 34pjs cel needle middle clip,165/50,Choke out 4 turns, a/s 1 turn out

Spoke with builder, wanted full drag port cub and that's what he gave him..a huge exhaust port that does have decreased life...and possibility of not enough lubrication was discussed, talked about fixing and re-plating. Thing is his type of riding doesn't seem to suit the set-up, not placing any blame and is why I am not naming names, I just want to solve the problem, and him to have a reliable ride that will beat his riding buddies! Got some prices, actually Matched my Builders prices, All have gone up a little since I bought my last cub. May just go back with some stock cylinders <- for his friends that are following this, whoever you are

jetting is a few posts back. 421 cub drag port, t6s,34pjs,v4s,6in pods, +4 adv, chariot head, 24cc domes i think (24 cub ingraved) supposedly set up for pump gas.

Well pics may do a little good, definatly not Yama lube, smells like it May have castor oil... when it dries it leaves a little oil residue. Locating pins are intact on both pistons. Guy is not on banshee hq but has been notified by friends who are about this post and he assured me it was mixed 40:1 (others watching) and two other folks used his mix and he said their engines run fine. I do mix by the tank in my Harley/banshee hybrid motorcycle and just keep some measured oil with me...mix by what the gas pump reads in gallons never had issue and I have many miles on it Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I mix in a clear 5 gallon race jug, filled it up and off he went. I filled my weed eater and yard blower up., then poured remainder in one of my banshee tanks Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Will check locating pin around lunch time, engine was assembled when it arrived to me. V force 4s installed. May have to have oil mix lesson, figured it was pretty simple. I mixed the first tank and gave him a mix cup with instructions written on it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

What Part isn't adding up? I am pretty sure at this point it is his fault, he picked it up on the 4/10 and said he rode 23 miles and it ran great. 4/12 he sends me a pick of a broken tierod out riding.4/16 he asks me to help rejet cause it's bogging. I tell him to swap plugs, he says they are blackish 4/18 he brings it back over 4/20 I finally get to disassemble and here we are.. I guess I am the dumb one for not figuring out lack of lube and even questioning the build. Although upset he was pretty quick to want to buy replacement as cheap as possible and not place blame..maybe he knows he's at fault and isn't telling me
-
well then I guess you guys helped diagnose it. lack of lube it is and I get to call and tell the builder what had happened tomorrow. Guess I could email pics tonight. Also probably should go through the brand new pj carbs again and recheck float height, jetting,etc... and dump fuel
-
He was going to hurrily buy kit on ebay tonight and I told him not to It would be wise to have a set of experienced eyes go over new cylinders and some kind of casting clean up. Builder won't lose second sell and will get first option unless it is cheaper or equal to cost from builder I have experience with's posted price on website, nothing more. I will post pic of fuel sample, I just want to find the Issue and fix it...
-
Only one I have personally ever used, Only reason I stated him. I have no alterior motives I promise. He isn't on here I asked him. I guess he heard about builder from others or found him on web search

34 pjs cel mid clip,165 main 50 pilot , choke out 4, air screw 1 turn. He's running t-6's on it....yea I know
-
I'm done in the garage for the night, going to pull a fuel sample tomorrow. If he forgot to mix his fucking gas he deserves it, and it won't happen again (hopefully he's not that dumb, right?)

I probably should just tell him It was lack of lubrication and there is no warranties (It IS posted on builders website) and be done with it. If I convince him it's scrap, he'd probably sell it to recoup some money. I just don't wan't this to happen again, although I've never used this builder, I don't doubt his skills and after talking with him on the phone about jetting it was clear he is a Banshee addict like the rest of us. I guess I should see if builder will give break on new kit, otherwise I'm telling Him to go with FAST (he said he was going to get on ebay and order a cub kit tonight)
-
He is prepared to buy new cylinder kit tomorrow from another site sponsor, but I told him to hold off a day or so and I would see what I could do, I wrench for a living so I understand shit happens.
-
Not sure. I will ask him tomorrow, and I guess I should take a fuel sample in clear container and check it out
-
I gave him a mix cup and first tank was mixed 32:1 with yamalube, I noticed the wear seemed excessive
-
I definitely will and that is why I haven't named names, just discovered this and wanted to see if anyone else has seen this happen as I would think these are cookie cutter by now..hell I've assembled 3 and I beat the crap out of my serval. I understand shit happens to the best, Guess it was a freak accident?

Buddy came to me and asked if i could put his banshee back together, motor was assembled by a site sponsor and had never been cranked, still had tissue with tapeover the sparkplug holes. So I put the engine in, set up the 34 pjs to the builders jetting recommendation and it started second kick, and idled almost perfect. A couple of adjustments and on the bike tested awesome, idled nicely, hit like a cub should, and friend was scared after riding it as it came up in third and I guess he's never had that happen... anyways he calls me few days later saying it won't stay idling and could I help jet it. He drops it off to me and it has 50psi of compression, so I dig in. What do You guys think caused this mess (obviously ring snagged) port not chamfered, incorrect ring gap, or what? He just spent a ass load of money on this and it only made it through a tank and a half of gas. I feel bad for the guy. Here's the pics.

Stock k&t drag ported 4 mil cylinders/domes
knelson replied to knelson's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Cut about 5mm off the bottom....j/k, won't work with stock length crank as the port timing is for 115mm rod & domes are cut 2mm to keep piston from hitting, sorry
