about on wits end with this thing a little help please
gomerkfx700 replied to gomerkfx700's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i was told by andy at no limits that 340 should be a rich starting point and should have to go down from there. i thought the same thing but he said that the signal threw the carbs are greatly amplified by the small carbs on such a large engine it will pull more fuel threw the carbs then a much smaller engine can. so i put in what i was told by him. i would call him but he is closed today and i think tomorrow. and no i haven't done a leak down i don't have the stuff to build a tester. -

still have air box and new k/n in it. also has vf3 with reed stuffers peddles look ok but i wouldn't think that the reeds would cause it to do this i could be wrong. -
ok i have had this bike for 2+ years building and working on it got motor together last year and got it started. then our baby that had been in the hospital got to come home and it wasn't touched till today now she is healthy and daddy needs his banshee fix. ok first off i rode it one time last year just up the road and it was like hitting a wall at mid throttle so i figured ok its rich. so fast forward a year or so and today i took the carbs off the shelf cleaned them up jetting is 27.5 pilots 320 mains mid on needle. i went down to the 320 from 340 last year. and same thing i messed with needle and went to 300 main same thing messed with needle 300 main same thing. idles nice seems to dry rev ok when setting in neutral. the engine is 421 serval pump gas cpi inflames stock carbs. the cdi and all electronics came from a running bike but i did drag cut the wiring harness as seen on this site. i think the timing is at 2 or 3 degrees have to take the side cover off its been close to 2 years since i put it together. could it be the timing to much bad flywheel bad cdi or something like that. i told the wife im fixing it or selling it she went off telling me im not selling it i have done spent to much money on it so fixing it it is.

i would never get anything done from hjr a friend bought a crank that he said he had rebuilt trued and welded he got it he had welded it but it had separated before it was welded and he wouldnt stand behind his work he wanted him to advertise how he was going to make it right and all this bullshit instead of just fixing it my buddy just payed the rest on a new crank go no limit or fast kevin is a low life

I tried 27.5 and couldn't ever seem to get it leaned out enough to ideal clean put the 25 back and cleaned up nice at about 1.75 turns out. I also drag cut my harness following directions on hear using a pull tether as a kill I may have to cheek the wiring

got my bike good enough to take for a spin 421 serval stock carbs uni foam pods for now and will be going to open lid box with k/n right now im at 25 pilots 340 mains biggest i have. its pig rich wont even come up over 1/4 throttle and smokes like flooding. it starts and idels great. whats everyones guess on what jets to go buy my local shop isnt cheap on jets they think there gold not brass. like 8 bucks a pop so i dont want to waist a bunch of cash on ones i dont need i have 280's and the 340's in it now i havent tried the 280 i figured they would be way lean. also i do have the oil mixed a fuz richer then 32-1

Hell don't scrap that frame if u want to fix it buy a stellar subframe I'm partial to the j arm frame wish I had one is under my bike

How you like those rear tires

Another thing you got to look at is location I can say for sure that bike would sell for 3000-3500 in virginia. But out west you can get a cub bike for that price. The market is flooded out there with them hear they may be 5-6 on craigslist within 100 miles and 2 of them are total junk wanting 1500 for it.

I have a +16 oz on my yz450 love it it makes it a totally different bike it has hot cams in ur and it hit hard but not it still is just as fast but is much more controlable

mull enginering filters
gomerkfx700 replied to gomerkfx700's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
They fit stock size carbs maybe 28 if the rear bell isn't larger then the stockers. The only shock I have is a older works shock with remote rezzie I can take pics of them with that setup if it will help but I think it would clear but I don't have anything to compare from -

I have a new set of his velosity stake filter setup its been put on the bike but never ran I just don't think I want to go with open carbs going to go air box would like to sell them for 100 shipped or if someone has a complete air box with alum adapter and filter in good shape i would trade even don't have to have a lid. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=166603 pics on first page

I have a friend who bought a bore job from trinity on eBay for his 660 raptor he sent his cylinder and new piston and a copy of the auction about a week went buy he got a call asking what this is about they won't bore it without payment he gets that lined out showing them he played for it on ebay well another week went buy it came in the mail he got a 400 ex cylinder welp he called got that lined out so he shipped the ex cylinder back and in about a week he gets another package this time it's a raptor cylinder but no piston lol welp after many calls they send him his pistion so he was out for over a month and a half over a bore job -
You guys totally missed what I was saying if the intake was made to slide into the stock carb boots and not have the custom made alum. that bolts on the head just the Y and it slide into the stock boots the pipe could be 28mm or maybe bigger inside
-
The stator side is 1.295mm and clutch side is .711mm I'm no professional but im pretty sure if those was in specs I wouldn't have this problem
-
Bearing will not press any farther. But the rod tolerances from side to side inside the webs are sub pose yo be between .25-.75mm one side us just a little more then 1 mm. I believe there us were the problem is when the crank was rebuilt and welded it wasn't pressed together fully.
-
No not yet got pissed off had to leave it alone for a little. Lol
-
Well I have tried moving the bearing they both are pressed as far as they can go. I'm afraid to put any more pressure on the crank its like the webs were welded without being to specs
-
I'm putting a engine together for a friend who bought a rebuilt crank from a member the crank came strate from hjr. When I went to put the crank in the bearing keeper groves on the bearing and in the case doesn't line up. Its off by about half the thickness of the keeper has anyone had this problem before. Its a 4mm hot rods crank that Kevin replaced I think a rod on and trued and welded. It was shipped strate from Kevin to my buddy no middle man

Mostly I'll be trail riding and dragging with friends. I like the 501 but tend to get flats with them I've seen people with the ambush tires and they don't do to great lugs to close together but I think that the softer compound and farther spacing may do decent.
