  1. $35 timing plate from ebay. Mount the stator and pick up to new plate and mount plate to your cases and your done. Need a flywheel puller for removing flywheel, also on ebay for $15. Piece of cake. SP
  2. Like Kodie said, call a builder and ask those questions. Only they can tell you if they think they can salvage your port and they may need to see it first to measure the current port degrees and angles. I know Kevin sometimes has a set or 2 of unported jugs on the shelf. You can also run across them on ebay from time to time. I have every other dog cut off of my tranny gears and every other web removed from the other gears. Bearings on both ends of the shift shaft and the shift drum. I am running a 4mil with a DD lock up. It doesn't shift like an override under throttle but it does shift very nicely with just slacking the throttle a little. SP
  3. That's kinda what I thought. It would take a lot of fuel but pulling behind a vehicle would cause aspiration in the engine and that's exactly what the carb needs to flow fuel. Just didn't think it would be able to collect in the combustion chamber that rapidly unless there was so much in the crankcase that it was being forced up through the transfers. SP
  4. Actually I would think the sputtering would be from too much fuel. But with you being at sea level the air density is greater therefore you would need more fuel to keep from being lean. But I am also judging that based on my set up and running CPIs. Maybe my port job flows more therefore I would need more fuel, thus the bigger jet size. That is exactly why I jet mine on a dyno to get me in the ballpark. I would post in the jetting forum and see what the jetting gurus have to say. SP
  5. I would think you might need to go bigger but I am no jetting expert by any stretch of the imagination. I run at about 1000 ft.
  6. I dynoed mine when I had the CPIs on it and we settled at 158 mains. What's your elevation? SP
  7. I have a DVX 400 for my wife with after market shocks, +2+1 a arms and an HMF pipe and the thing is really fun to ride. Handles really well and will wheelie all day long. Has been a very good bike for us. SP
  8. Ok guys, I have a buddy with a stock crank ported motor with 35mm PWKs. I am repeating what he told me cause I wasn't involved in the assembly or tuning process. He just put it back together and was in the process of jetting it. It was hard to start so he was pull starting it. He says it ran good and I think he had it rich with 162 mains, middle clip CEL needle and not sure on the pilot or air screw. Any way, in the process of pull starting it he had it lock up on him. He brought it over tonight and we pulled the motor and split the cases. One of the rods was bent and the cases were full of fuel. It seems he got lucky and the only thing bad is the crank. The bent rod got caught in the counter balance weights and got bound there. Seems no damage to the cases. My question is, could the float not being adjusted right cause enough fuel to flow into the cylinder and not drain out the exhaust fast enough and get trapped in the compression zone to cause this? Are there any other ways this could happen? I am sure it was fluid trapped in the cylinder that bent the rod. Thanks for the help. SP
  9. LOL! At least I'm not the only one. I looked about 6 times before I seen it. I knew it had to be something simple. SP
  10. Yes, the search button can be your best friend. Welcome. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?show...mp;hl=oil+ratio SP
  11. I am still confused. How are we supposed to know what to vote on based on the post #1? There isn't anything mentioned in the first post about vito's. Vito's isn't mentioned until the second post by savage with some hideous pictures of someone's port job. Nevermind, I just seen it in the sub title. My bad. SP
  12. Not to take any business away from Jeff but, I buy mine direct from K&N. The main reason for this is I haven't found anyone that stocks the filter I use. From the K&N website you can see the dimensions of all the filters they have. Angled flanges, tapered filters for clearing certain pipes, different length filters, and different flange openings. I can pay them direct with a CC and shipped to my door. Just a convenience thing. You can also run an oval K&N filter with the stock airbox, lid on or lid off, if you have the aluminum adapter that fastens inside the airbox. This would be a good ides if you trough a lot of low creeks or big mud puddles. SP
  13. Dude! Try some punctuation! That last post makes absolutely no sense at all.
  14. Well, I don't know what I can add. It seems most has been said already. I had a stock stroke stage III port with 35 Keihin carbs, intake and exhaust with their head and domes on pump gas. I thought it was a turd. It had no low end and like snop said it really came on around 7k. Really like a light switch. I hated it. Had to go back to a stock length swinger just to get it to wheelie in the sand. Customer service was atrocious to say the least and they are REALLY proud of their shit. I wouldn't walk across the street to see them. Now I have a 4 mil from Kevin at HJR and couldn't be happier. Much cheaper, runs like a striped monkey. Customer service is second to no one. Not to mention that Kevin is a hell of a guy! Kevin's turn around is also phenomenal to say the least. Trinity is as slow as shipping stuff across the ocean by boat. There are plenty of stand up builders on this site that will do you right. Trinity would likely be nothing but a disappointment and leave you with empty pockets. SP
  15. I'll try one. I am in KC Mo. How much riding time are you looking for and how soon? SP
  16. Yeah, post in the wanted section or check out the for sale section. You'll get better results. SP
  17. All parts located in OKC as seen in post #1
  18. Camping at #37 in LSPS for Sand Fest. Not sure about Oct yet. Still waiting on confirmation from the boss. Have talked to Phil and Tami to see if they are going or not. I sent them an email with our dune schedule but haven't heard from them yet. We will be down there with them for thanksgiving fo sho though. SP
  19. Good luck with that Tim. After many times of my wife "seeing" how fun it is she still requires a Room and Shower! SP
  20. Sounds like your jetting is off. Did you re jet after changing the intake? Anytime you change the air flow through engine you have to check the jetting. This includes changes in the intake, flow through the cylinders (porting) and changes in exhaust. More air flow requires more fuel. Not enough fuel means not enough lubrication and will lead to more problems then just hard starting. SP
