  1. Tig weld? You're fucking joking me Tanner? If you can stick or mig a platform together like in your truck in a weekend the only reason you can't tig is because you've never tried it! Tig welding has to be the easiest I've ever done. Temp is the important thing for tig welding and it ain't the least bit hard brother! Maybe it's easy for me cause I've grown up in the food industry and we tig everything but I think it is much easier than stick welding sprinklers on the top of an irrigation system I assure you! SP
  2. Hey Ryan, Where are you guys meeting at? I am pretty sure I can make it. SP
  3. The only thing you're missing here is the photo of the Internet Tough Guy! LMFAO! SP
  4. Impact drivers are only about $20 and great to have. Go back together with a counter socket screw vs the Phillips. I never use a Phillips on anything. The Clymer"s will give you end play and side clearances for your crank. Another $20 well spent. SP
  5. I like CPIs and Shearers. I had an old school set of T3s that ran great on a ported motor also. But it totally depends on what your gonna do with the motor and what type of riding you're gonna do. SP
  6. I'd have to vote for the stock stator as well. I've even bought a couple off of ebay and have had no issues with them. SP
  7. Hey guys, I just got mine back from Greg. He apologized profusely about the time it has taken, but said that he had to make sure he had it right before he sent any of them out. Quaddad and I got ours back at the same time and I sent mine in 2 weeks before he did. So I believe that Greg had intentions of fully testing before returning any of these. He changed the angles on the cuts, added springs to the shift fork and removed a spacer and added a spring to the shaft where 6th gear was at. He also micro polished it which I do not know is standard or an upgrade. Ryan is right, mine broke with no abuse. However, everyone screws up. The determining factor for me is service after the sale. Tim at stellar made me a swingarm and it didn't fit. He called me before I put it on and told me it likely wasn't gonna fit. He offered to do whatever it was gonna take to make it right. Greg did the same thing. Same type of customer service I get from Kevin Herr. Unfortunately, I can not say the same for the the response about the sponsor I originally bought the override from. I was able to get the in touch with Greg and got the tranny shipped out before i was even contacted by the person I bought the tranny from. Props to the guys that take care of their customers! Tim at Stellar, Kevin at Herr Jugs Racing, and IMO Greg at WCR! I don't know how the new override with work, but I have no complaint with Greg's service. It did take awhile, but I'd rather have it right than rushed. I think we can all agree on that! I won't put it back in until over the summer but I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes. Quaddad should have his running by our trip to LS in May and I am sure he'll post results! SP
  8. I relocated mine to the trash as well. Just a pain in the ass and one more thing to rule out if it doesn't start. We never used the keys for security anyway. Not much use when you can just push them away IMO. We chain them up when riding also. The brake disc locks are a good idea as well. JMO. SP
  9. Fuck that! That was too spendy! Plus the wife was *really* pissed! SP
  10. I am gonna be there around 4 pm today. State camp where we all were for Sand Fest last year. We will have an HQ banner or 2 up. What site numbers do you have? SP
  11. There is a post on here somewhere for it. We have a large group going. We have 3 sites in the middle just north of the T shirt shop, should have a black HQ banner up. Radar has 2 or 3 sites up in LSPS on the south west hill I think. Andy from M & M is gonna be there. I know there is more but not sure where everyone is at. SP
  12. Pretty sure you're gonna have to split it and inspect to tell if its welded. Don't think there is any other way to know for sure. Prolly be a good idea to upgrade bearings on it as well if your gonna go that route with NO2. Personally I would just build a solid 4 mil with supporting intake and exhaust. I think you would have a much more reliable motor. Just my 2 cents. SP
  13. I had one and it worked really well, however, it doesn't fit well with my new arched swinger. It fit ok with my 4 over lonestar but not the new arched one from Tim. SP
  14. Sorry, in reply to your original question: piston clearance is the same for a 4 mil as it is for a stock stroke motor. It depends on the pistons your using. Cast piston clearance is different that forged pistons. Also, there are several factors to consider with the set up for a stroker motor as I eluded to in my previous post. gasket thickness, porting etc. SP
  15. Any builder can have domes cut. Dave at Noss cuts them also. If your running a 4 mil crank and your cyls are not ported for the 4 mil than the spacer plate should keep your port timings close. The best way is to port for the 4 mil and not use the spacer plate in conjunction with cut domes. I think this is the best way to get the potential from a 4 mil set up. Without porting for the 4 mil, the spacer plate and gasket thickness have to be correct to get the port timings right. SP
  16. Lmao! I think it was your cooking! Good food always makes me stinky! Sounds like you better come for Snake Hunt instead! SP
  17. Ok, but this post is for a Weekend in May. That linky says the Trike Rampage is the weekend after Snake Hunt. Looks cool but wrong weekend. SP
  18. Never heard of *trike-rampage* weekend. Hove you Tim? SP
  19. You better make it Springer! I think after Snake Hunt, this is the next trip! I think the whole gang is going again. Need to check with Bob and see if Cam is gonna be done with his motor yet. Hell, he has probably already got it done! SP
  20. I have something similar and it works well. You can feather the clutch to shift or slack the throttle to shift. You will still miss shifts once in awhile but it is a great upgrade over the stock tranny when you start making more power. Nothing compares to the override though. SP
  21. 1-5 ND (no 6th). Broke a tooth off of 1st gear after about 300 yards. I think it got into 2 gears at the same time. Talked to Greg at WCR and he needed the trans to evaluate. Haven't heard anything back yet. He is taking care of it though. Seems to be a stand up guy. Seems this trans has actually been out for a while and have had no issues until this year. Not gonna go into details here because the topic was geared more towards the 6 gear overrides. SP
  22. That's awesome CJ! However, being of sound mind and body and serfectly pober I remember distincly *not* hitting the rear brakes! Lol! I think the right resr tire slid into the rut I made going up and it tipped over backwards! That thing sure is heavy with a much higher center of gravity than a Banshee! At least that's how I remember it! Good times for sure! SP
  23. Lol! We are never gonna get to ride this thing, are we? Good luck on the carbs bro. I'll keep my eyes open. SP
