The one bike that looks like it could be mine has a rider with a ball cap on. I *never* race without my helmet.

Was I taking the picture? I sure don't see my bike out there in that mess. I have a yellow helmet and it is usually pretty easy to pick me out of the crowd. And yes, Jeff, your bikes usually run pretty hard, but when you call it like this it kinda makes people wanna go to another builder just to beat your bikes. *"I'm just saying"* SP

Actually, I think Tyler called out some of the fastest bikes out there a few posts back. My little 4 mil dune port beat the guys I went out intending to beat with the exception of springer, we never really had a chance to line up. Even had the pleasure of throwing some sand in Cal's face a few times on his 4 mil cub ! Great times and good races! SP

I absolutely have to 2nd that! There were some damn fast bikes out there for sure. I was pleased with how my little stock cyl motor ran but it didn't have shit on JD's stocker! Great to meet everyone and it was definitely one of the best trips I've had. We should plan this yearly. See you guys around and if I travel to your area I will let you know! SP

Would have been nice to know that Kevin bailed. At least then I know I don't have to go to the airport to pick him up. Hmph! SP

You might check with Springer. He was looking for an 8 over awhile back and I think he was running a 4 over. SP

Talked to LSPS again todya. They can't sanction anything due to liability reasons. It is a State Park and they could be held liable if something happened. Plus they don't have the personnel to man the shop and participate in the dunes. We are welcome to stake out a course ourselves though. I will bring some posts, we can get caution tape from the shop. We would need some volunteers to man the corners and keep out people not racing so no body gets hurt. I think we can do it. And yes, being behind me with paddles sucks ass and everyone runs together! But if you don't have paddles you will be to far behind for me to get ya, hahaha! It is a hell of a good time though! I didn't want to go to OKC to pick him up and I didn't want to invite him and have someone else responsible for getting him to and from the airport. I am ready to see how that motor of yours runs!

Same thing happened to me. Tried heat, puller, everything on the flywheel, wouldn't budge. Finally split the cases and took the crank stator and flywheel out. Carefully cut the flywheel in a half to remove it. In the process of pushing and pulling the flywheel I twisted off the threaded end of a brand new crank. Chucked the crank in a lathe with a live center and bored into it and tapped threads for the threads of a hardened bolt. Green lock tight on the bolt and I had my new crank ready for install. Only ruined the flywheel. Sometimes they can be a real pain in the ass. I think they get fussed to the crank from an electrical charge. I am gonna try blue locktight between the crank and the flywheel to insulate it next time. Anybody have any other ideas? SP

I talked to Kristy at LSPS and they might try and set up a lap race like we did at Sand Jam. It was a blast with several different classes. They set it up with 2 whoop sections, a trail section with several choices to get through the trails, 2 long flat spots to open up, one small dune to go down, and one sharp corner. 3 laps per race and it was a lot a fun. I will keep in touch with them and see if we can run with it. SP

Could simply be a cable adjustment or actuator adjustment. As long as there is some movement in the basket you can get it set right. SP

I'm sure I'll have rm for the tires. We are gonna try hard to get out tuesday, but if not first thing wednesday Kevin flies into KC around 1pm tuesday. I'd like to be ready to leave right after that. Got that bike together yet? You can't push it faster than me, you know! SP

Cool, I have a cracked hanger on a set of CPIs I need welded. You still want that set of Haulers we talked about? SP

I've got a set of CPIs that I am not using right now. I'd let you try them at the LS Oct HQ ride. I am not sure I want to sell them but I'd for sure let you give them a try. We need to find someone out there to re weld one of the hangers. It has a crack in it and if it breaks during a ride it could break the exhaust flange on the cylinders. I'll be camped with Tim so come look me up. SP

Porting is the best bang for your buck next to increased timing. I don't like 927 but it is a good oil 32:1 is an ok ratio. But if you wanna keep up with the big boys you're gonna need to hurt the pocket book! Bigger crank, good porting, carbs, reeds, compression, timing, and suspension to get the power to the ground isn't free. SP
