  1. There is no correct answer to the question you propose. A stock carb set up properly can support a stock cyl 4m engine. Many different sized carbs will work well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. They are machined as a pair when manufactured. I think you might be able to use mismatched cases but I would be very cautious when doing so. Assemble and make sure everything fits nicely, then slowly tightened things down as a dry fit while making sure everything rotates freely until completely secured and torqued. I would recommend a matched set, but if you have to use a mis matched set, this is how I would proceed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yep, could very well be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Could be detonation but also could have just broke the top edge of the piston off and shrapnel bounced around on the chamber. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Hmm. #tirekickers #vanishingact Anyone else interested in a nice +8 swingarm? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Stating that running an engine out of fuel being harmful isn't an opinion. I added something to the post that was useful to the original poster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. How can you see how much fuel is in the bowl with clear fuel lines? Once the tank is empty, your lines are empty, but the bowls are full. Running out of fuel at idle isn't good for your engine either. One side will inevitably run out first and cycle up and down without lubrication until the other side runs out. Loosen the drain on the bottom of the carb bowl if you want to drain the carbs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I second that on the techniplate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. You can check squish from exhaust or intake. Through the spark plug hole and in line with the wrist pin. Something soft, like 50/50 and something that is thicker than your squish will be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yay! Lol! Nothing wrong with thinking out loud and using a little logic to draw a conclusion. All I was saying is that you won't damage anything by running a fuel with a higher octane rating. It may not operate at peak performance, but no damage should occur. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. 110 will resist premature ignition where as 92 will have less resistance. Doesn't mean that they won't ignite at the same time in a specific application (low compression engine with ignition taking place appropriately when the spark plug sparks). However, increase compression and 92 will begin to prematurely ignite before 110 will. Continue to raise compression and 110 will prematurely ignite as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yes. Higher octane fuel is needed for high compression engines to prevent detonation. If you run high octane fuel in a lower compression engine there is no harm except to your wallet. But I'd love to hear something logical that contradicts my statement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Benol is fine. Race rule will not hurt anything even if it isn't set up for it. There is just no reason to run a higher octane fuel unless your compression ration requires it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Sent pics. Let's make a deal. Next in line? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Yep [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I use silicon spray. Seems to work pretty well and prevents sand and shit from adhering to the motor and frame fairly decent. Haven't used it long so the jury's still out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I thought is was a 10mm. Just wasn't sure. I think the brake line is 3/16" but that shouldn't matter much. Now I need to find a place to make one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. What is the size of the banjo fitting for the brake line? Anyone know off hand? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
