Gosh, I don't want to get into a pissing match here so I hope this is just a friendly discussion. I was posting what I know to be first hand accurate information. My son and I race 1/4 mile Banshee's. In 2008 our best ET's with both quads running Banshee based motors on alcohol and no nitrous was 10.07 and 10.19. IMO $1000.00 in private purchased parts/upgrades in a stock Banshee still can't compete with a stock 1000 Artic Cat. A really good ET from a stock port cylinder and carb Banshee with reeds and pipes is 13.40's ** This is 1/4 mile I'm talking about. Maybe that's were some of our difference of opinion is?

A stock Banshee would take way more than a grand to compete. That sled with a 160# rider will do low 10.30's on a good day.

We have a 1000 Artic Cat that runs in our bike class all the time. Other than a narrow track and an aftermarket muffler box it's bone stock. A mild Banshee doesn't stand a chance against it.

Be careful when mixing different oils. It's not worth distroying a motor. At the end of the 2006 race season I had a few gallons of 40:1 Super Techniplate left over and 3/4 gallon of 24:1 Penzoil for the weedeater. In the spring of 2007 I poured both into my twin cylinder riding mower...BIG mistake. Maybe it was because one was synthetic and the other not but the hole fuel system was full of snotty little masses and jelly balls.

It's a quick, cheap and effective way of adding integrity and strength. As said, it aligns the grain stucture of the metal. All of our trannies are treated. Another option that's very good is something called micronite (sp?) treating but I think it runs about $500.00 for a Banshee tranny.

Since it was never opened it will be as fresh as it was 6mo ago. It's true that you should never store fuel in plastic containers or leave your cans on the ground or in the sun. If your running oxygenated fuels be especially careful how it's stored because the "good stuff" evaporates out first (and fast).

The bottom case can get cracked or broken around the drain plug pretty easily if not protected really well. Those shippers are BRUTAL!

I've got some of Gil's (Mindbender Motorsports) aluminum tanks. He does great work. I know he spent a lot of time developing that brake system so it wouldn't drag on the disk when the brakes are released. I'd love to get that setup for my asphalt bikes.

I've got 4 brand new Keihin bowls that have never had a drop of fuel in them. One pair has fuel barbs installed for power jets. Came off 39mm PWK's Will trade or sell outright.

Just curious, Is Hillsville PA still around/open? I used to go there 30 years ago....
