1. I really doubt it's a problem with the new plugs. We race with a motorcycle guy (track champion more than once) that runs ethanol. He told me that he had to jet up when he made the switch from straight gas and again when he went to a higher concentration. IMO your running into a lean condition and thats likely whats rattling the plugs loose. Without knowing your whole setup but assuming this bike has been fine in the past I'd jet up 2 and see what happens. Good luck.
2. Being an asphalt racer I've never run long enough to actually have a plug fall out but detonation will sure loosen them up. Only seen it happen with alcohol. That pounding is real hard on parts.
3. We currently run RDZ's on our bikes and they're dry as a bone. Both leaked when we got them just like every billet bowl we've ever had. Even sanded one set on a thick piece of glass so the O-ring stood up higher but it didn't help. My son was actually the one to figure out what was happening. This fix has worked on every set I've owned including Boss. If you look close at the picture you'll notice there are two different length bolts. They are longer than stock because of the thick paper washer plus I made sure to use all the threads in the carb body. Every once in a while I run into a button head that fits a little to snug in the corner and I'll lightly dress the edge on the bench grinder for a better fit.
4. Not to take away from Jerry's (Chariot) product as I've got some of his stuff and it's all been first rate as far as quality and workmanship is concerned but I want to address the leaky bowl problem you guys are having. Over the years I've gone round and round with certian Banshee issues while building our asphalt bikes and drippy bowls is one that I finally got worked out after years of messing around. The fuel is migrating up the threads of the forward bolts in the upper plate that adapts the bowl to the carb. Our local hardware store sells small hard paper washers and stainless button head bolts that have fixed the leaking 100% of the time. I tried all kinds of things including sealers etc in the past with limited sucess but this WILL fix it. I've had no luck posting pictures in the past so if someone wants to put it up here send me an email address. Hope this helps <img src="http://bansheehq.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbsup.gif" />
5. tedder what do you run for electric and air...i ran a 12v drill type battery for my nos, that should work there but what for a air tank? We've got 12v batteries on board for ignition and shift solinoid power and #1 bottles for the air shifter tank. Smaller paintball gun cylinders work fine also.
6. Do some research before buying an air shifter. We run electric over air on our asphalt bikes but they're definetly not for everyone. It's not as simple as "pushing the button" as you put it. Under a load the gear pressure can't be overcome by the shift cylinder so it won't upshift unless you have a cut tranny or kill the ignition.
7. For sure - Give Jeff @ FAST Racing a call HQ sponcor http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/
8. You've all seen lots of posts on F.A.S.T Racing (site sponcor) before but had to say Jeff came through for me again. 14. That combination isn't ideal. A 200* cylinder will develop optimum efficiency at an rpm higher than CPI's are designed for.
15. Airstrikers are PWK's with a couple of improvements that were supposed to benefit Motocross racers. Only difference is that they are quad vented and have little "wings" cast in to straighten and direct airflow at lower throttle openings.
16. Shoot me a pm of exactly were your located from us in extreme Northeast Ohio. Maybe we can get you down our way sometime this summer for a full weekend of racing. Guarantee a good time.
17. Slower Than You is right in the range of gearing ratios he's given you but you'll have to see what works for your setup and riding style. Whats "best" can change depending on many variables like tune for the day as effected by weather or track conditions etc. We have 2 - 1/4 mile bikes and have been long distance race partners with Bryan for some time. We run similar times but what works for one often doesn't work as well for the other. My 4mil pulls through the traps right at 119 with me (190 lbs) and my son who's 180 usually does around 122 with our stock strock Banshee.
18. Maybe we should talk about a trade. I've got a real nice pair of gas 35 PWK Air Strikers with billet bowls and intakes. We ran them on our asphalt bike until switching to alcohol. PM me if interested.
19. Ooo - Ouch.. Geez take it easy on me there Dave...He He I hear what your saying and agree 100%. IMO for pistons alone to make that much performance difference they would have had to replace a set of slugs with totally wiped out rings but possibly his originals were a dimensionally incorrect set and compression or squish was way off. Who knows. It wasn't the OP that claimed the increase though and it's possible that the rider who posted was being 100% truthful in what he experienced. Lord knows I've read lots of things on the internet that I disagree with including stuff on HQ but thats just differing opinions and beliefs and thats what makes the world go round. There are a lot of good guy's here on HQ including posters in this thread. In forums it seems that all to often things are quick to turn negative and instead of discussing something it turns into a big FU fest. Thats one reason a lot of you guy's hear from me in pm's instead of on the boards. I hope the original poster and his team rider don't just blow off this site as a good old boy's club. They're obviously into the same stuff we are and maybe we'd find they're OK people with something to share.... I'll shut up now
20. I'm going to try them............. Now that I have your attention. LOL I usually run V-Force but am constantly trying to improve my times and the only way I know if something will work for me is to try it myself. For the 2008 racing season I've also got a set of ported stock cages with TDR reeds from a well known builder and I'm picking up a set of Chariots reed cages and intakes soon. Normally I sit back and just let these things fade away but decided to add my .02 because this post went negative right out of the box and never recovered. We've all seen how these forums can go down. In the feeding frenzy there probably wasn't anything he could have said that wouldn't have been contested or flamed. I can't speak for him but maybe he feels it best to just see how things go with the testing... Personally I saw nothing wrong with his post offering a couple free setups for feedback. Maybe the design will work...maybe it won't. Even if profits are the driving factor I'm glad there are guy's out there trying to hit on a design or part that improves my performance and in this case I'm not out any $$ if it doesn't lower the ET in my drag bike. OK guys --- KICK ME
21. Over the years while looking for parts for our asphalt bikes I've been fortunate enough to pickup some items with little to no run time on them. One of the things I've got is a virtually new stock crank that I had Jeff (FAST) true and weld. Running wide open throttle through a 1/4 mile tests the rods every pass. I've heard stock Yamaha cranks are pretty good if fitted with TZ/Max load and welded but Hot Rods have never let us down so I'm hesitant about putting it in. Wondered what you guy's have experienced or what your builders have recommended. Thanks guy's
22. My asphalt buddy dabblin' in the dark side (sand) JK !!! And you had a jockey to boot  Thats not the 1700camaro I know.. Angel must have slipped a mickey in your diet Coors when you weren't looking... :yelrotflmao: Seriously, Man that looks like a blast!
23. Not to hijack your thread but I'd like some info from Photoshop users also. My wife wants to get me Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop Lightroom 2 but I don't want her to spend a bunch on the program if it's way more than I need. I do a lot with pictures and small video clips, have over 6000 now and growing. Kodaks Easyshare program has twice screwed me up bigtime. I'm in need of a good stable program. Any help woukd be appreciated.
24. Stock 2nd gear sets Individual gears Input/Output shafts Forks and drums. Guarantee no junk. PM me if you need anything.
