These guy's are absolutly right, Detonation will rattle the plugs loose. Been there done that with both my alcohol bikes. 99.99% of the time it's a lean condition.
Fair warning - Fix it or you'll break it for sure.
Assuming the process was done correctly it's still a little rich but remember the WOT run only tells you that the main curcuit is correct. If it were mine and it pulled hard from bottom to the top I'd probably drop one more jet and run it there for a while.
The pressure plate can be put on in a way that it doesn't drop down over the clutch pack. There is a punched mark on the inner clutch boss and an arrow mark on the pressure plate. Make sure you have them lined up correctly.
Lots of opinions on the best way to tackle jetting. Heres my .02
Although I haven't done a plug chop in years I did when learning and would recommend it for any first timer with little or no tuning experience. Start by reading all the info you can find on the subject. Plenty of good info right here on the HQ. Once done you'll feel pretty comfortable with the whole process before even firing up the bike. Look for others with comparable setups and altitudes to get you in the ball park then do a few plug chops. Done correctly you can nail the mains pretty quick then work your way down through the other curcuits with "the seat of your pants"
Good luck
We use Digitrons on our asphalt bikes. Great tool but it's not something you throw on and use exclusively to tune your bike. Do that and I'll guarantee a crappy running bike or toasted motor. Search on this site about jetting recommendations from other members with similar setups to yours and on doing a proper plug chop.
Thanks for clearing that up for me Brad - Those pics don't look anything like I remember.
The additional material on the sides will be a nice improvement.
Could one of the new units be purchased without the cutout in the grill area?
Ted
I'm sorry if you took my post as negative Brad because it wasn't ment that way at all.
When you said you were coming out with a glass for those with stock frames I took it as a newly designed piece.
A year or so ago I inquired about a "Barn Guys" front glass for asphalt bike and was sent some pics of one mounted on a stock frame. The nose looked to long on the stock frame IMO. Like it have been designed for an extended front end.
Ted
I'm not crazy about the way the current ones extend beyond the front OEM frame rails and as far as the closed grills concerned, heats not an issue for me, I'm looking for clean aerodynamics.
