  1. FYI - I've had a few phenomenal 60' times over the years but my fastest ET's have reflected in the 1.36 range. **This is on my 4mil setup** Don't get hung up on that as the "golden" number to chase lol.
  2. "As someone who is constantly pushing things to the next level, spending money to get there and testing until it works." BINGO!! You are so right Tyler. I've spent a ton of money and track time over the years to get where I want to be. So much of what is believed or read from the Internet boards isn't good or accurate info. Time and time again I've told guys that they needed to get out and do their own testing. BTW, Sorry your thread has gone off track Mike. Nice job... I predict you'll be pulling 1.30's and 6.30's this season.
  3. And be very careful on what you share in confidence because it WILL get out (eventually) in time, every time.
  4. You're correct that a leakdown test won't be comparable to actual running conditions but I think you are way to worried about that little dink. It's going to be OK lol - Put her together and go have fun!
  5. That's not bad. I've had worse seal with no problems. From the picture I don't think you really need to bother but if it were mine and it had a sharp feel to it I'd VERY carefully take a small file and just touch it enough to take the edge off.
  6. Call Jeff @ Fast Racing and get the long adjusters for the carb tops.

    Spring washer

Need the spring washer that you find under the clutch basket once you cut off the factory rivets.
  8. Yep, American Racers are usually way out of balance. Bubble balance using stick on weights and they'll be smooth as silk.

  10. Interested but are you sure they're Shearers??? Look like CPI's. Any repairs done to them?

  14. I think Calvins specs call for an .012 but most builders set them up for .020
  15. There are very few veteran clutch tuner's & 2 of them are member's here. One keeps his mouth shut on it & the other blabs more information than he should.
  16. No. You can leave the timing alone. Regular pump fuel works fine for purging. Don't waste your money on expensive race gas. I mix the oil ratio a little heavier in my purge.
  17. A Hot Rod 158 is a long rod 115mm A Hot Rod 121 is a short rod 110mm
  18. PM sent. I contacted Gil not long ago. He's out of the ATV stuff but still in business.
  19. Hey, I have one just like that! lol
  20. Add me to the satisfied list of buyers. Bought a set of pipes from Bobby over the Holidays and he worked with me by holding them with only a down payment. He stayed in touch, Condition was as described and the packing job got the pipes to me safe and sound. I'd definetly not hesitate to buy from again.
  21. Had something similar happen to me from sugar free lifsavers. And yes, some sugar substitutes are a baby laxitive so in large quantities WATCH OUT.
  22. Painesville is only 1/2 hour from me.

    Pingel Valve.

They're available with reserve which is nice for some but you'll pay a premium for it and probably impossible to find a used one.
