I have had good luck with both when used correctly. The ProX cast pistons dont live as long in a built Banshee that is high hp/high rev often and we have seen them break with to much rpm! The Wiseco's hold up very well to high hp and almost every good engine builder uses them. You will have to have more piston to cyl. clearance to run the Wiseco forged pistons than a cast piston but not much. That is my .02.
Thank God not one got killed or really hurt worse than they did. I hope the rest of you guys' trip turns out better than the start. Poor Joe sliced his finger with a utility knife and got 9 stitches right before i got there, then the throttle stuck on his bike when i was testing his clutch we just put in and it all went to hell in a handbasket!! 4th gear nailed it and it came up in a violent wheelie... I let off and tried to hit the brake.... but it had other plans with a throttle stuck wide open and a mind of its own. When i stopped rolling in the sand and looked up......I have NEVER seen an ATV jump that high in my life! Im scheduled for a MRI on Friday and its looking like lower back surgery in my near future. This sucks... I may need a jockey for the HQ ride but thank the Lord im still here to see it at least!!! John and Joe , try to enjoy the rest of the trip and please call me if you need anything at all !!
JT , it was a pleasure to have you visit us!! Hope you got a good night sleep in the "Wendorff Hilton" as you had one hell of a drive ahead. Just so everyone knows and can give him shiat, JT and his brother survived the Legendary "Slobbering Sow" BBQ sandwhich and cheddar fries! Now you see how i keep all this (spare tire) traction around my mid section.
Cant wait to see ya again at LS for the HQ ride!!
Bansheerider, give me a holler at the shop and i will get you any specs you need. We have replaced a bunch of failing Barnett clutch setups . As wallrat said they just dont seem to hold up well on a modified bike.
Cant remember off top of my head but i was thinking it said how much on the clutch cover . If you want call me when im in the shop and i will gladly look it up for you real quick! Click on FASTOYS
I dont know where everyone is gonna meet but i hope this time everyone doesnt have to leave early and at least come over and say hi to the big guy with the grey F.A.S.T. Racing T-shirt on a White F.A.S.T. Raptor !!!! Was kinda bummed about all the hype about the last "HQ ride" and didnt get to meet half the people!!
Throw out a "Hey , whazzup " or something.
We will be in the south camp most likely and prolly on the strip alot or straight out from the gate on over the "big" hill racing.
Looking forward to meeting some fellow HQers.
For info on St. Anthony dunes in Idaho go to wyoduner.com or sandbros.com .
I have been to several other big dunes and Idaho is "the bomb" !
I agree! The fun factor will be way high with a strong dune/play port and maybe a +2 or +4 arm with some bigger carbs . The stock cyls. will run very strong!
