Honestly, If you have never done this type of stuff before take it to your builder and have them blanchard grind it or mill it flat. Piece of mind. While you are at it take your bottom end in and have him check the base for flat as well.

DR Q. knows his shit. THe 87-92 heads will work on the 85-86 engines. I don't think the heads mods are going to help you. Start the profile with a 14 degree taper and work it until you get the volume and dome shape you want. Too much squish will give you pre-ignition. Talk to some of the builders on here about dome profiles I made my own domes for my shee and milled the snot out of the one on my 87 LT. Those boost bottles better have nitrous in em :biggrin:

Provided our race ends up around october I should be good. Checked the web site for wanting to trace and they are filming over the summer. Suzuki had some screwed up Designs that made it into production. When i first got my 87 it was a drag ported 265 with a crappy bills pipe so it ran like crap too. Put an fmf on it and it really woke it up. So much it melted the piston. (on the plug chop) This is the fourth season with this top end.

Change #1 Going to Midway instead. My group either went out this past weekend or is going to dumont. So my 2nd group i go out with is going to midway in the south dunes.

I usually take 6 5 gallon cans. Only mix up 1 can at a time. (91 and 40:1 amsoil premix) 280 mains 27.5 pilots toomey needles on the middle clip 20cc domes. My bike is only piped and bolt ons. I usually put 2 cans in the truck before i leave. If my bike breaks 3-4. Or if the old LT breaks..... pres day i am taking 4 2 strokes out i think i am gonna run out of gas! 2 shee's and 2 lt250r's

If someone else posted this same thing i Apologize. They close Comp hill primarily because its a quick jaunt off the highway. All the little troublemaker punk ass kids used to go there and party and start shit light trucks on fire. Generally cause a bunch of problems. Every time i have seen the Rangers or sheriffs close down the road to olds I was told you can still go to olds you just can't use this road. If you dune to it your fine. Basically go around them and stay on top of the hill!

I'll be camped at the intersetion of the "olds" road and sand highway in the trees. With the tenters as someone earlier put it. Gonna be my last dune trip for this season. Going to Iraq shortly after Presidents day. To think all that sand and no Banshee. Makes you want to cry kinda. Some insane riding out there. and We can't play.

let me know where you are getting your gaskets pistons and what machine shop your are using. $100 for a top end? thats unbelievable cheap. pistons alone cost me $150 plus tax. gaskets and machine work are another $100 easy. Fill us all in we want to get that deal too!

Some of us are nuts enough to ride there in the summer too! Leave San diego about 5:30pm get there around 9 ride all night and load up about 7-8 in the morning. No one else there. Unmolseted dunes. NO RANGERS OR SHERIFFS!!!!!

to put it in the simplest terms diesel engines run on controlled detonation. no spark plugs. no external ignition source. Just compression and airfuel mixture.

Stock "spec" is 22cc. I have milled more heads than i can count. CC'd them to begin with and they ranged from 20.7-24.2cc's before i milled them. production tolerances i guess. cast em, mill em drill em put them on.
