OOF's will give you a later hit and more power on the top end. but it will sacrifice power on the bottom end.

I bought my friends lt250's in 2003 after my first trip to glamis. Came with a boat load of spare parts.... i used them all too....fast forward to 2005. Same friend has just bought his 2nd yfz450 and "is sick and tired of fucking with 2 strokes" so for $3400 i take home his 1988 Banshee that has a yamaha crate A-Arm frame, roll arms, pep shocks, vf2's Dyna box and fmf pipes. When i finally pop the top end i discover virgin bore cylinders with no porting. all i have added to it is razors and bead locked 8 cup haulers. that "damn 2 stroke" waxes him at the sand drags, Olds, brawley slide and china wall.... and the one time we <wink>Accidently got lost in the closed area<wink> I beat him at the wall too! know anyone looking for an 85 or 87 lt in San Diego? cut em a deal

sometime referred to as a "packard" mod it is a torrington bearing that the clutch pressre plate rides on. I also did the alba shift cam mod... they add a roller bearing to the end that plugs into the output side of the case. if you are splitting the cases that $150 is worth every penny.... that mod accentuates the shift star and the easy spring on the shifter shaft.

Thats pretty. Thank you

I can't view MYSPACE from the ship. On deployment so no option for me to see the pics... can someone cut and paste em up for me please? what was the turn around from shipping em out to bolting them up?
-
just buy the mod on a new shifter shaft. that is what i did.. no down time waiting on shipping

Ok I know you can get em chromed, high temp paint anyone had their pipes ceramic coated? I have had headers ceramic coated and bought them that way but never seen Banshee pipes (any pipes 2 stroke or otherwise) available with it done. It would hold more heat in the exhaust.... possibly worth a little more power????? Want to get my shearers coated.(virgin, never run yet)... in socal. any ideas?

not until i wring every bit of performance out of the gas set up. That includes the chassis set up.... one thing at a time

Three servicemen, Air Force, Marine, and a Sailor, where all on a flight to go home on leave after spending time in Afghanistan. When they landed a man approached them and said "boys,to show my thanks for serving our country i'm gonna give you my truck to drive home so you don't have to pay for a cab." The guys thankfully agreed and drove off. Halfway there the truck broke down and they where stuck out on a lonely stretch of road. Off in the distance they seen a farm house and went to ask to use the phone. When the man at the door answered and seen the men in uniform he invited them in. He said "boys, for serving our country i'll cook you a steak dinner and you can shack up with my three daughters, you'll have to discuss amongst yourselves who sleeps with each girl, there's plenty of beer in the fridge." The men ate and the first girl comes down the stairs, very pretty girl. The flyboy jumped up and said "she's mine" and goes upstairs. The second girl comes down, prettier than the first, the jarhead snatches her up and goes upstairs. The sailor is waiting for the last girl thinking he's getting the heifer of the group. To his delight she comes down, the finest of them all. The next morning the farmer is cooking breakfast. The fly boy comes down first, uniform neatly pressed, fresh looking. The farmer asked if he wanted breakfast but the flyboy says, "No thank you sir, you've done enough already." and left. The jarhead came down next, uniform not as neat as the flyboys but still acceptable. The farmer offers him food but he only drinks coffee, thanks the farmer and leaves. The sailor comes down next, still a little drunk, neckerchief messed up and missing a shoe. The farmer offers him breakfast and the sailor ate everything and took off without even a 'thank you'. After they all were gone the farmer calls his girls down. Rubbing his hands together greedily he says,"ok girls, how did we do?" The girl with the airman says, "he fondled me a little, drank a beer and gave me $200!" The girl with the marine says, "he fucked me one time, had a couple beers and gave me $150." The poor girl with the sailor appears all tired and worn out, "he fucked me all night, drank the rest of the beer, and I'll be damned if he didn't borrow $50 off me till next payday!!"

worked at a shop that was a dealer for CPI, Got them chromed from CPI direct..... still shitty chrome compared to what I have the hook up with now. The problem as other have stated Cali is so EPA regulated that they can't use a chemical that is vitial to GOOD chrome that will last. If you get NEW BARE pipes from CPI's I can chrome the aluminum silencers, Can't to it on the used ones. Can never really get all the oils out of the aluinum. (found out by messing up a $65K tank) Just so everyone knows, I do chrome on the side not as a living. Pipes run $150 per pipe and that includes the stinger tube but not the silencer as most are aluminim. If you want the new aluminum silencers chromed it will run a little extra. If pipes are new the turnaround time is very quick, if used they may take up to a month to get cleaned in the caustic tank. I have a couple questions for you. Do you plate and buff copper first or just etch / clean and plate the Chrome on the pipe? I did some plating back in the early nineties. Best "chroming" i ever did was on a sheetmetal intake for a small block chevy. took it fresh from the welders, smoothed the weld down a bit and plated it with copper, buffed that all kinds of shiny then went with 3 layers of nickel buffing each out after the plate. Wish I took pictures of that. I hear you on the used aluminum that stuff is nasty!

Kawasaki H2 motor in a banshee frame?
Toybreaker replied to sled's topic in General Banshee Discussion
For a straight drag bike the cub would probably be better but for an everything bike i would take the worked h2 hybrid..... 150 hp? yeah not too many duners gonna take you at the hill that is for sure! no 4 pokers gonna play around after you spank them a couple of times either. there was a white one at the Sand Sports Super Show 2 or 3 years ago. I don't remember what i did with those pictures though. what about an rz500vr4?(not sure if i got that right) in a banshee chassis? -
do some exhibition races at a pinks filming and show how fast our bikes can be.
-
it won't stop at pipes and filters though
-
That is why you start with your friends bikes!
-
I vote to remove the engine and split the cases. No better piece of mind than that. Whenever i melt a crown or break a piston i tear it ALL the way down. I did the swish with gas thing (6-7 times i forget) and still puked the crank on the next ride.
-
Narrow track is better for drag racing and a blaster is much narrower than a Banshee. I just don't want to pay for a"banshee" price for a blaster sized part. An axle is an axle. If it comes down to tempering or strength i can heat treat and temper it myself to anywhere from 32 RC to 60 RC.

I am Finally getting the Chassis together for my drag bike and want a narrow axle and both shorter and longer swingarms. What interchanges from a blaster to a banshee? I know the 2003 and later axle does. What about the carriers? Blaster parts are cheaper than banshee parts. That is a nice plus. thanks for your knowledge on this
