  1. Two things. Did you get a spacer plate or are you running cut domes on the head? What is your elevation? If you got the head cut, did you get the porting matched for the longer stroke?
  2. Or the order after that...or after that...

    Crank

    Gimmeabear needs more crank...
  4. It would be best to start your own thread rather than crap on this user... What is your elevation? KS don't mean squat to me... Your lean on your main, no doubt. With clamp ons, T5s, less than 1000Ft and 50 to 80 degree temps, you should be around a 330 or 340 main... What do your plugs look like?
  5. Oh hell yes without a doubt... Mod for mod you can not beat the dollar per HP on a shee. When the 450's been out for 20 years, that may change, but...it's not even close right now. BUt..I'll stand by what I said. Bone Stock vs Bone Stock, same rider, etc...450 will win everytime. Last year, when I ONLY put T5 pipes on my shee...my buddy with his 450 could not believe what pipes alone do for a shee...
  6. 280 Main Stock Needle, Middle clip, or Toomey Needle 4th clip from blunt end Stock Pilots 1.5 out on the air screws. This will get you close....
  7. ANd if you would've told me you stocked 'em...(in one of our gazillion conversations) I would have had you ship me a pair, too... BUt...you'd have to promise to package those grips well. If they got scratched in shipping, I'd be distraught...

Sorry to get off topic...but I just spit my water out at my screen while reading this at work... Damn that was funny....
  9. Jt... This guys not sure of the length of the swingarm...but she's chrome. Maybe you two could measure it out.... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60990
  10. First two letters of my first, middle and last name, and I'm a Jr.... I'm not creative enough to think of a good screen name...and any decent one is usually taken. This one is odd enough...any board I visit, usually it's good to go... Boonman is a great guy to deal with...quick to respond and he does good work!!
  11. Ditto...I've looked at the "Wall of Grips" at Magic Racing.... My buddies have spiders...and I'm ready to buy some myself. You can pretty much ride w/o gloves they're so comfy. ProTapers with mounting kit, CR High bend.
  12. Save your money... Get a lightened flywheel and timing advance plate...those T5s will be a whole new pipe, for less than 100 bucks and it will be a great trail MOTOR... Spend your money on suspension if you want to hang with those 4 strokes in trails...they are light years beyond the near 20 year old geometry and suspension that is currently on banshees...period. Also...the right setup, tires and air pressue help too.
  13. When Toomey's jet kit was on clearance at Magic Racing for 29.99 it was a steal. Not because of the mains in it...because of the needle. The stock needle is not great, really. The mid causes a lean condition... Toomey needles, or even Vito's needles remove this mid-lean condition... With those mods, I'd go +2 or +4...at the very most. Side riding? get a blaster or 400EX for that crap...those short wheelbases love to bicycle.... Anyone on here will agree...NO ONE here can tell you your exact jetting. We all can get you close...every bike is different. If you only want to do it once, and get it right...get to a dyno with an air fuel meter. Then...keep in mind, once the temperature increases or dips 20 to 30 degrees...time to rejet again.
  14. Thank you...I love it when I hear guys say I run 40:1 in the summer, 32:1 in the winter... Repair shops just lick their chops over that...
  15. Wes...your avitar and sig still kill me everytime... Makes the HQ hard to read at work...
  16. You kind of lost me when you stopped typing english... Sound like the 450s get the shee out of the hole...until the shee shifts into 4th...is that correct? I should really have been more clear, I can't speak for your buddies, I've never met them, I don't know their skills, I don't know where you ride or drag race. In a drag race, with equal skill riders of equal weight, the 450s will win everytime. The banshee will start catching them at the end...however, that's one helluva long race, and most drag races don't last more than 300 to 500 feet. Not nearly enough time to get a shee wound out. 1/4...different story... Put 'em on a track or trail, 450s will flat out smoke 'em...their torquey nature and flat out better suspension and geometry set them way ahead. Again, equal riders, equal skill.... And...as you can ready by my sig, I'm a banshee guy...so don't think I'm bashing..I'm just a realist. I ride with anywhere from 3-5 450s, yamie and Honda, a couple shees...and some other quads too. But these things stock are pigs. Restricted like a mormon's daughter on prom night....
  17. Your smoking dope if you think the banshee would be neck and neck with a stock 450R or 700 Raptor (new, fuel injected) stock vs. stock. 700 KFX...more than likely. A stock YFZ or 450R will blow by a stock banshee all day long. Stock those 450s are around 40HP. Stock a shee is 36 or 38...plus 50 lbs. However, a properly filtered, piped and jetted banshee should beat 'em fairly easily. I've only ridden one stock 700 KFX...was heavy, but fun to ride. I'd say it'll hold it's own...but a stock shee should beat it. Depending on how strong your port is...where you race and what type of surface, you may want to go back to the 14 tooth front.
  18. Stock Pilots, 1.0 to 2.0 turns out on air screw Stock Needle, 3rd Clip. Toomey Needle (didn't say if you had these or stock) 4th clip Main Jet 280. This should be close... You didn't say what temp or elevation you'd be riding at, I'm taking into consideration your less than 1000 Ft and around 70 F temps.
  19. Grand River does make some great pipes....for drag racing. Doesn't sound like you're ready for that yet. They might make more power throughout the "drag" powerband (all upper RPM) but they are NO trail or all around pipe by any means. If you called Andy @ GRR, he'd tell you that. I agree...T5 is a great all around pipe. Not the best anywhere, but very good all around. If I had to choose a second all around, I'd say Paul Turner Mids, FMF Fatty or Pro Circuit. Search around...this topic is one of the top 3.
  20. I haven't rode it yet...it's still being tuned at DynoEdge. With stock carbs and T5 pipes, mine is making 84.8 HP...and Evan still has to dial in the jetting...it's a tad rich. I can't justify new pipes yet either... T5s are a damn good, all around pipe. Don't shine in the top like drag pipe, don't shine on the bottom like a woods pipe...they just do it call pretty good.
  21. First...please don't type in all caps. that's considered "Shouting" and it's annoying to read.... I'd say T5s or PT's as mentioned. You've got some good mods in your sig...with 16cc domes and a 2 into 1 carb, you've got about as much low end as you need. With your riding type, I don't think you want a drag/top end pipe...yet. To be honest...SSTs are darned fine pipes...
  22. Jeff @ FAST has one he just sold me with my motor, not SRP but not as well known as Hinson either. I think the price was about the same...or less. Give him a call!
  23. Sucks that an ass bag would tell you that, it was freshly bored. My buddies just looked at 2 or 3 banshees in the last month before he settled on a 400EX (yeah...I"m stll laughing at that...) Brought a snap on compression gauge to each one they looked at, pricesless insurance. Two of them were hard to start (never a banshee trademark) and low and behold, less than 100PSI in those two. Go figure. The next guy came along and bought them I'm sure... There are plenty of builders in MI more than capable of measuring your cylinders and telling you what size to buy for the pistons. Grand River Racing on the West Side, B&R Racing in the Saginaw/Flint area, Magic on the East side...and plenty of machine shops along the way... Get out the yellow pages and do the walking...make the calls, and get a comfort level with who your going to take them to. Good luck...sorry about that dickweed you bought it from...
  24. That's good to hear, Bob. If I didn't already take all the time to make my own, I would've bought one in a heart beat. It beat 3 or 4 trips to Home Depot, Aco...etc... Machwon (Bob) is an honest guy, and a pleasure to deal with. I sold him my stock virgin cylinders and crank, and he was a very fast communicator and paid very quickly. I'd have no reservations whatsoever dealing with him again if he need arose. Daj...
