  1. Mine leaked on the inside of the top, and the bottom left side of the jugs, FWIW...
  2. Ya know...I'm as impatient as they come... Called Carbparts.com after none of the local guys had it... Got two, bout 5 bucks a piece... Thanks...
  3. I have a set of 35PWKs that need a plastic collar for the throttle cable hold down. It's a little white donut looking thing... Part number is: 1118-A35-7000 ON this exploded view, it's item number 31... http://www.carbparts.com/keihin/pwk_33_39expl2.gif I'm calling local dealers...but no luck, all special order. Thanks all... Dave
  4. You can swap any of the parts, however....the wire plugs for the stator and/or CDI might have to be cut and modified...
  5. Actually....9603 steered you right in this case. Alien...we all suggest jetting on our own experiences...nothing more. There is not golden jet for any given bike, only a range from our own suggestions. I would use their needle, most definately. However...you say your bike runs great and there is no air leak... If I were you, find a nice wide open road you can top out 4th and 5th...and do a plug chop. If the plug chop turns out fine with the jets you have...don't change it. Personally...I have never jetted above a 380...but, each bike is different...
  6. If you don't want to spend the money in gas, you shouldn't have shaved the head, or took less off it, like .010 or .020... I have a perfectly good stock head off my 96 in case you want one...cheap. Came off my stock motor and ran great...
  7. That is good to know... Since CP INd. makes the Cheetah and Cubs...I'm going to assume everyone gets theirs from there... I got mine (4 mile cub) from Jeff @ FAST racing, and I know the nikasil and sand blasting was done at millenium... Since the coating (nikasil) and sand blasting for Trinity are still done at Millenium, however...might possibly still be the same issue...the problem is not with the porting or machine work, it's the finish... I'd love to see the port work on a trinity cub vs. one you buy from another reseller...
  8. Didn't get mine from Trinity...but had the same problem. Had to have the top and bottom resurfaced for mine to seal. The problem is not with the Cub from CP...the problem is the finish at Millenium. CP industries make the cub. They send them to millenium for nikasil coating and sandblasting the exterior finish... My base gasket and head both leaked... Ended up shaving both ends, and using a thicker base gasket to accomodate... I'm starting to read about this happening on here and PS.... To his credit, Calvin (CP of CP industries) did offer to look mine over. My problem was it was already clean up ported...and I didn't have time to remove it, send it out...have him inspect is and then get it sent back. I had a riding trip planned...and couldn't wait that long. You need to contact CP insdustries...It's not Trinity's fault, they are merely a reseller...unless they built your motor in house and let it leave the shop that way.
  9. Brad...everytime I look at that bike...I need a napkin for the drool. That bike is flat out sick!!
  10. Go to Cascade's website...they sell 'em polished for some extra loot... Hell...they'll sell you just about anything polished...they make some nice stuff!! http://webforce.nwrain.net/founder/cascade...ORE_DEPT_ID=242
  11. Take the flywheel off. Shake it... I got my cub back together...and found out the flywheel magnets inside were breaking apart... If it sounds like a baby rattle....time to replace it.
  12. See if Matt Shearer can make you some custom stingers...
  13. Bought a set of PWK 35's off BK... Paid for Friday, sitting at my door at lunch today. Carbs just as described and expected. Saved me some dough...and a great guy to talk to period... Thanks much!! Dave
  14. So...what you're trying to say Jeff...is...when I get my newest box of goodies, I'll have the good wires AND grounding straps? I'd better...if I have to settle for a red and black outerwear...
  15. Ahh....that wasn't (isn't) in your sig... This is really a tough call...however, since you're running +4 timinig AND a shaved head, I'd honestly run straight race gas to be safe. You may or may not be able to run a 50/50 mix...but, to save a few bucks...it's proabably not worth it... Timinig advance AND shaved flywheel really wake those pipes up...takes some of the hit out of them...I think you're gonna like 'em!! Good luck!
  16. Change the needles... At or near sea level, banshees come with 125 to 135 PSI... Since you didn't mention a new head or shaved head in your sig, I'd try a different compression gauge.. Cheap ones are very unreliable. Buddy of mine tried a test on his triple sled, el cheapo compression gauge, showed like 135, 180 and 145 for his cylinders...I told him he only needed race gas for his center cylinder... If you're running that much PSI with a good, quality tester...then you'll need a mix of race gas at least, if not full race gas. 165 is about the magic number where you may be able to mix or might have to run straight race fuel. By the way...how did you check for air leaks? Have you checked the sync on your carbs, too...? That could cause one to run richer than the other... As far as your jetting... I think stock pilots, stock needles middle clip and 350 mains would be a safe starting point. You mentioned K&N filter(s)...so, I take that as you removed the airbox and have pod filters clamped onto the carbs... You're going to love the T5s...have fun!!
  17. If the Vito's needles are similar to Toomey (dynojet) needles, stock position is 4th clip from blunt end (6 grooves total, vs. 5 grooves for a stock needle) Normally...you bump the needle up one (leaner, towards blunt end) when you add reed cages... 50/50...some do...some don't...
  18. Hey...no prob. The highest I have seen drag ports run is 360 to 380...and that was at lower elevation (richer jetting needed..)...which, ojcool, the car tuning expert pointed out in another post... :yankyank: Somtimes, with porting you actually go down in jet sizes since it pulls air and fuel much more efficiently... Hey...if it runs good, it runs good. However, since I have been "accused" of telling people to tune on the edge... This jetting sounded way rich... Better safe than sorry!! No offense taken, 9603...
  19. I can't see you needing a 27.5 pilot or 300 main jet without pipes. I believe the Vito's needles are longer than stock, correct? Longer, but more tapered... Without pipes, I"m thinking you're way rich... Try stock pilots, (25) and 250 mains. Figure you can bump up the main a little from stock for a better air filter and lid...and lean the needle one for the VForce. Once you get pipes...you'll need 280 to 300 main jets...
  20. Christ...I've had a few beers...so, I think I'm only 4 times as smart as you now. Honestly, Stu...I'd appreciate it if you started making quad, 3 wheeler or dirt bike references in your posts. This is not a car forum...which you still can't get over. Your post is riddled with car info..dyno info for cars..etc. Yet...you still lack basic knowledge and smarts that it takes to tune a quad/bike. I...nor can you...give 100% accurate information. Only educated guesses and advice based on one's own findings and experiences. Clearly...you have none. Where did I say an O2 sensor is the only thing an A/F gets it's reading from? Oh...I didn't. I know you can't work on small engines, but I at least thought you could read... What I said is you can't use an O2 on twostrokes. re-read my post... I'm sure you've posted something factual...somewhere along the lines...about CARS!! Do you lack the basic knowledge to realize this is BansheeHQ...and you know banshees are 2 strokes, and they're 2 stroke ATVs, Quads, fourwheelers...whatever you want to call them? I'm still waiting for you to post something pertinent about a quad, two stroke...or any ATV knowledge at all here. Oh...that's right...you still can't. You still don't even know (to the best of your knowledge) if you can use an A/F on a two stroke. Timing...is an important tuning factor...the poster that told his specs, elevation, motor mods, etc., was perfectly safe to run the timing I suggested given the infomation he gave. If you're such a smart guy...why don't you post something useful about our sport, period? Instead...you ask basic questions...which normally, I'd be happy to help best I can. However, since you've proved to all you're such an ass clown, and continue to spout off about car/car dyno information that really hasn't helped anyone, except for them to realize you don't have a clue about our sport...I wouldn't help you gap a spark plug. As I said in one of my original posts...go back to your little gay car forums you're so fond of. STILL...you obviously don't know shit about our two strokes or small engines in general... You're really just wasting my time at this point...
  21. Question...CD... How long does it take them to run out of fuel? I'll be running a similar setup, soon... Normally, our longest drags are anywhere from 500 feet to around an 1/8 mile... I've been told and read...unless you run alky and a drag port...a stock should flow enough.. Whaddaya think?
  22. 12 tooth **Might** be ok for 2nd gear launches in the sand... For pavement I agree...it's killing you. Stock gearing, believe it or not...is pretty darned close to perfect for a piped/jetted stock motor shee. When you start pulling more ponies with porting, strokers, etc., is where the gearing really can play a factor... I'd try a 15 tooth for ashphalt drags...
  23. Funny...good stuff. Allow me to retort... I've been on my own since 17...own my own home, have a good job, etc. Just because you've been on a dyno before doesn't translate to shit...obviously. If you had a clue, you'd realize you CAN use an air fuel reading on a two stroke. You CAN'T use an O2 sensor on one? I'm sure you're smart enough to know that the reason for that is because of premix...but, doubt it. I work with computers for a living, securing networks, setting up servers, etc. So...basically while I'm babysitting (how ironic...idiots like you...)...I have time to be on the Internet... It's feast or famine with my job. Bored as hell, or busy as hell. Like I said, correcting you seems to be a much more promising career...it would be busy all the time. 1. I backed up my statement with a link to a well respected member of the HQ, who has been doing this for years. I don't need to discredit you...you've already shown you don't know shit. 2. Are you talking about Compression ratio or static compression? You know there is a difference, right? So...let me get this straight...and these are your words. Elevation changes DO NOT change compression? Please tell me that is what you are saying...oh, wait, you already did. That satement right there, ladies and gentlemen, prove what a total tool you are... 3. Do I know what an air/fuel meter is? Yep, sure do. Do I know what it measures? Well...I"m gonna go on a long shot, and say it measures air/fuel mixture spent out the exhaust... Do I get a cookie? Am I close? Since you're the expert...yet didn't know you can run an A/F meter on a two stroke, why don't you tell us the ideal AF measurement for idle, acceleration, and deceleration. If you knew shit...you'd realize those numbers can not and will not ever be the same. 4. Covered that... My mom's station wagon...good one. Aside from changing careers for myself, I'm going to tell her to drive a short bus, seems picking you up and dropping you off will be a long term position as well. Don't worry...I'll let you dyno the bus... Find another member to chime in that can say I've told someone to tune on the edge...that is my challenge to you. OH...by the way, smart guy...riding and wrenching since I was 7...have yet to blow one up or detonate a motor... You need to stop applying and thinking your "Car" knowledge means shit here...clearly it doesn't. Part time, huh? I guess sweeping up the shop and cleaning windows didn't gain you much knowledge...huh? Since I've been working on shit for years...I don't have to "research for hours..."...I've actually done the work... Face it...you're losing. This is not a car forum...what knowledge you "think" you have doesn't amount to shit here...and everyone is STILL laughing at you... Go play with an O2 sensor...will ya? Oh, and one more thing...so we are both 100% clear. POST Count has 100% NOTHING to do with one's knowlege... Because I have over 1000 posts doesn't mean jack shit...and I've never said otherwise. Ok...I'm wrong. In your case...your post count just about directly relates to your IQ...my bad... :yankyank:
  24. Wish I could help ya there... I just picked up a bunch of goodies to try and get my Cub Running...it's been rough to say the least since I built it. I'm hoping new carbs, spacers, V Force "stuffers", intakes and a nology coil will help me out... Just keep on reading them plugs...you'll get it!! Since you went with Jeff...have you talked to him? I'd bet he can get you straightened out. He worked his ass off trying to help me, but...to his credit, he personally hasn't built a cub with stock carbs and T5 pipes... He's pretty much strictly PWK series and CPI or Shearers....
  25. If you have the $$, I'd get 'em both... I have a pair of 35's coming my way next week. Bkabina just threw some needles in...since I told him I have CEl's on the way too. If you want to wait a few days, I'll see what needles he threw in...if they're either of those, I'll give them to you for the cost of shipping...
