  1. I'll second that wholeheartedly... A&S builds fast stuff...you could probably get it back in July...of '07... Nothing against Jim...But I've talked to, called...PM'd, emailed Jeff a ton! Of course, I spent a few bucks with him too...and he's a helluva guy. I've never really talked to Jim @ Passion...but he seems like a helluva guy, too. After I bought a cheap 90 or 100 dollar clutch setup from Jeff...and talking to him on the phone, you'd have thought I bought a few thousand dollar motor from him from how well he treated me (of course, since then...I have... ) Again, a riding trip in a month is going to be tough...that's for sure.
  2. What pipes/carbs and porting are you running with this package?
  3. I can't go to that site. I start drooling in my keyboard, locks up the PC...and it miraculously drains my bank account.. Seriously, Cascade folks are great to deal with. If you don't want to wait for one, hit an arts and crafts store. You can get a small box for little doodads to hold your jets. it's what I bought, separate compartments and everything!!
  4. Since you're doing it...do it right... Take the swingarm bolt to a metal fab shop. Have them tap both ends (it's hollow) and plug one, put a zerk fitting on the other. Then, in the bolt itself, drill 3 or 4 1/8 inch holes... Good luck doing this yourself, unless you have a drill press. That swinger bolt is tough as nails... Someone probably charge you 20 to 30 bucks...and it'll be worth every penny. Now you can grease the swingarm too!!
  5. Boy...do I know what you mean!!.... Good luck!!
  6. To be honest, you won't notice a performance upgrade from spacers alone...if you do...might be 1/2 a horse or so. In this case...you need them for the actual spacing, to clear the clutch arm....
  7. Jump on those...you might have to hit a hardware store and spend 2 or 3 bucks for longer allen head bolts.... Bad idea if you're using stock intakes... You had to sand the shit out of them to get the carbs to fit...and they could crack or tear very easily... I'm hoping you bought an aftermarket set made for the bigger carbs. I think I just got my UPPs for 90 bucks, same carbs.
  8. Bought a 5.5 gallon tank because I had a pipe dream of my cub being a trail/dune machine. Gonna strictly be a dune/drag quad now, so...no need to keep it in the garage collecting dust. 85 shipped via Fed Ex w/ Tracking number. WARNING...it is UGLY!! Painted blue...and it looks like an Exxon/Mobil tanker... However...it will serve it's purpose!! If you're looking to extend your trail time on the shee to match up with your buddies on their 4 strokes...this might be the ticket for you... PM me if you'd like pictures... I also have a stock swingarm with skid, NO carrier, (needs a hose and soapy water) make offer Two Stock ignition coils, make offer I'm looking for a 95-96 CDI and possibly a good stator as well...perhaps we can swap?
  9. Get a clymers manual... That will tell you everything you need to know, with pictures to help... It's priceless for a Banshee owner...
  10. He cuts flywheels for a good price, as well...
  11. I did my buddies and didn't do the nuetral back cut...works perfect for him.. I had boonman do my shiftstar. Actually...he had some already done...and it was pretty cheap just to buy a brand new, modded one...so, your call, either way...
  12. Well...you did say rough... Sea level... Stock pilots OR 27.5, depends... Middle clip, start with 380 mains, work your way down. 4000 ft. Stock pilots Start with 340 mains, work your way down. Just pods and pipes, right? No shaved head, timing advance, porting, etc?? On my stock motor, my T5s liked 340 mains...I think I went to 360 or 370 when I demo'd a set of Rockets last year...
  13. Hmm...I've been told by a few people either do the shift star OR the shift pro...not both. You're talking about the shift pro that is the arm with the larger roller on it, right? With a dremel and a file I hope you have time on your hands... I use a bench grinder with a stone, can be done in 5 minutes.
  14. A compression tester as stated will tell you the general health of the top end. Gashes in the top of your piston could mean a few things, poor fuel quality, too much timing, piston worn out and starting to come apart. Air leak, lean jetting, dirt in the motor.... Hopefully...you dealer won't just throw a top end on and call it a day, hopefully they find the reason for the gashes...
  15. A set of spacers, gaskets and longer bolts are about 40 bucks. I just got a sweet looking pair from Jeff @ FAST made by NOSS machine...
  16. Yes, very good point. Is it IDLING high...or idling fine and reving but going nowhere... You didn't mention Idle in your first post. Also...ditch that boost bottle and put the crossover tube back in...
  17. Could be a W/P seal as noted... Is your filler cap on tight? Any of your vent hoses chopped off or plugged up?
  18. Have a buddy look on...and see if you're roasting the tires. Or...make sure they're at about 4PSI and launch on some grass..preferrably not an irritable neighbor's... If you're on grass...and it still revs up and goes nowhere, it might be clutch time. Pickup a clymers manual, the banshee bible, and make sure it's adjusted properly at the lever and at the arm on the left side of the cases... A boost bottle does nothing except take up room...and reeds aren't a HUGE improvment...so, it's not like you just added twice the HP...
  19. All that happens if you're lucky... If your unlucky...the slides stick and hold on for a wide open ride... Ditto what he said above...I'd say if you let it sit for more than a few months...take 'em off and clean 'em out. The addition of two stroke oil only quickens the gumming up process...IMO.
  20. That is exactly right...just put that same kit on my buds 98 about 2 months ago...
  21. Yeah...a compression test...with a good quality tester... With a 2 into 1 carb setup...I'd say you are relatively close on your jetting... Possible electrical, too...are you trying a fresh set of plugs with each jetting change?
  22. because tire size and gearing has everything to do with how your bike pulls and revs...
  23. I disagree...the best way to get close is by the seat of your pants...the best way to get it dialed is by the plugs... I guess I should backup... What size tires are you using? What is your gearing? What are ALL the mods you have? Sorry...I just reread your post....and TRIED to read your sig. That blue is very, very hard on the eyes. That is low end gearing...first of all. Second...that 2 into 1 may be holding you back some for top end. Does the bike REV but not get any faster...or, does it not want to rev at all? The first suggests gearing...the second...well, you may not be getting it enough fuel... Did this just Start happening?
  24. Benol is thick...usually they use it mixed with alky... 40:1 will be fine. Get some BR8ES That is the insert that goes in the V Force 3's. Funny you should mention that...I just got some replacements for them from Cascade today...they're square and don't limit the opening size to that circle...it's wide open almost.... I think they're called Reed Stuffers...not sure though. Put the stuffers in...that's not your problem!
