  1. True dat...but, the cam mod is free...
  2. You already got your motor from FAST, get Jeff's clutch kit too. Jeff says it'll hold up to 100HP banshees.... While you're at it, might be time for a basket and new inner and outer too! He's got it all... seat$$...I've never tried a Tusk Kit...but I've read that they don't hold up for shit once you start pushing some real power... However, you've got some cubs there...so you should know. Do you run a Tusk, lockup?
  3. Hard to say... I'd do a flywheel first cause it's much cheaper... When I put my timing plate on and got my boonman flywheel, it woke the bike right up. Instead of that hit from the T5s (my motor was stock, no porting) it smoothed it out, or it felt like it did cause it could get on the pipe much sooner! My old flywheel shattered, so I have a brand new RS flywheel on mine now. Once I get my other issues sorted, I'll be sending mine back out to boonman to shave this one, too...he's a great guy to deal with, too bad he's too busy to be on the forums too much anymore...
  4. Shitty deal Pete... You're too nice of a guy for that shit to happen to... As said, you need to involve the police and let them do their job...it got Ronnie Sheppick thinking after his bullshit stunts... Good luck buddy....
  5. WTF... How's that thing gonna work without a flux capacitor?
  6. Rossier makes a damn good pipe, and the cam mod is a must. I believe it's the exhaust cam that comes 1 tooth retarded from the factory... 5500 is a helluva a deal, I've been contemplating a new 4 stroke for trails and play, and my shee for dunes and drag racing... Think I'm going to wait till the end of the season (live in MI) and pick up a steal if I can....
  7. Thanks...Ruko... I'm going to see what Od can come up with.. If not, gonna pick up a new one this weekend. I literally have about an hour or so on this damn motor...I'm dying to ride it, especially now that I put the 35's on!!
  8. ??? Airscrew has nothing to do with top end rev...that's all main! Airscrew is idle to about 1/8 throttle or so...
  9. If you're going from stock to aftermarket pipes, 4 to 8 sizes on the main jet. Not too many mix at 24:1... Most mix at 32:1 or 40:1... Good luck...pipes on a shee really wake it up!!!
  10. Go ahead...be my hero... Odaen... I do have a pic of the plug ends if that helps you...lemme know. PM me your email addy, and I can send you the pics...
  11. I'm trying to find a Used CDI for 95-96 model years, the oddball years...not too much luck yet. Don't have the funds to buy a new Dyna or OEM for that matter... Magic sells an SRP rev box (no...I know it don't help rev 1000 more RPMs) but...it's only 100 bucks online. It' for model years 97 to current. Has anyone tried to rewire/replug different year CDI than what's it called for? Looked at the Clymers...but, still not too sure... What say you?
  12. I'd check compression while you're at it...too...
  13. First off, and easiest, do a compression check...see where they're at. You don't necessarily need to get bigger pistons... You need to have the bore measured by a machine shop or motorcycle shop, and they should be able to tell you if you need to re-ring it, new pistons and rings, or a bore job with new pistons and rings. There are several tell tale signs by merely looking at pistons...I'd have to write a book right here, which has already been done. Best bet is to do a search on "worn pistons"...
  14. Get a billet impeller, get a new seal, and be done with it. That impeller is shot, period...and I wouldn't trust it... I'd replaced it before it falls apart and sends little pieces of plastic throughout your cooling system, plugs it...then you have big problems. I'd flush your cooling system with a garden hose, too...if it were mine.
  15. For Free...Antivir or Avast. Paid, Norton, NOD32, Kaspersky and Bitdefender.... Norton is a resource hog...but it works. As far as finding viruses and trojans with AVG that Norton can't find...I've yet to come across that...and I'm in this business... Norton 2006 does a great job on Spyware, Trojans and worms... AVG is way down on the list...I'll find the write up. The best defense is: Proactive AV Proactive Spyware blocker Any browser other than IE Sofware firewall Hardware Firewall with NAT But, the most important of all is safer browsing habits and email habits...period. Here's some research...case your bored... http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
  16. Yep... .080 is the next... .100 make me a bit nervous...that's pretty thin?
  17. CPIs have better bottom end...not as much top as Shearers...You're going to lose bottom period by going to a drag pipe... First, what's your elevation? Second, what is your compression at? Honestly, if you're looking to gain mid/top...ditch that dual carb setup. Putting on a top end pipe, then crippling it with a 2 into 1 carb setup is counterproductive... Need to know your compression before anyone can tell you if bumping your timing will require race gas. Honestly, octane booster is a major pain in the ass on a two stroke. You already have to mix X gallons per X oil...add octane booster in, and you're causing a headache, while only saving a minor amount of money. If your numbers add up, you're better off running a mix of race and pump gas...
  18. Dynoedge in Ortonville, MI... Guys there are cool as hell, very knowledgeable and great to deal with... On stock carbs...I was amazed with 85. I think with the 35's I should already be at 90...mid 90's once I get inframe Shearers...on gas, of course... And that's just with a cleanup port. I know I'd be over 100 with a drag port and Shearers...
  19. 40 to 1 is fine for the ratio...but opinions will vary... Some will say mix it richer, some will say the same as you plan on running it. Some will say take it easy, I'll tell you to heat cycle it twice and beat the shit out of it...again, it varies. Try a 340 Main jet, needle on the 3rd clip from top (stock needle, 5 grooves) and stock pilot at 1.5 turns out on the air screws. You may have to go up or down one on the main, or bump the needle one leaner (towards the blunt end)... Look at your plugs...see what they say. That is ballpark jetting that should get you running pretty good...
  20. Porting is a wild card.... Sometimes they'll flow more effciently with smaller jets compared to a stock port motor. Sometimes they'll crave the shit out of fuel and huge jets. it's best to go out and buy 3 or 4 pair of plugs and start looking....
  21. Waterpump has a vent hose coming out of it...if it's plugged...it could cause pressure and pop a seal. Also...it is a seal, they don't last forever...and can go... It's actually not that hard to fix...
  22. If you plan on racing hard pack or ashphalt...16'll be fine. Dunes...forgetabout it....
  23. Cool beans... Are they PWKs or Air Strykers...I'm confused... I'm hoping for 90ish with mine...just added 35PWKs myself... Very simple clean up port and I matched the cases myself... Hit 84.8 with stock carbs and T5s...hoping for 90 with the 35's. Gonna pick up some Shearers next...
  24. If it was a maintenance top end, I'd agree... However, it's locked up. Which means at the very least a top end. Quite possibly a new crank/bearings, etc. While a top end is easy...a novice or beginner could be very easily intimidated by a case splitting/crank removal. Not saying they shouldn't try it...we all learned somehow...but, I understand...
  25. I agree...what porting and who did it. 80HP out of a stock cylinder/stock stroke is not out of the question...but hard to reach. Sprockets and tires all depend on where you ride...there is no perfect for everything. You can go one of two ways...change gearing and tires for the places you ride at...or, find a happy medium that doesn't do any one thing great...but does everything well... Start with a list of ALL your mods, your weight and terrain type to get better help... (FYI...I pulled 85 on a dyno with my 4 mil cub, on stock carbs and T5 pipes. Since then, I've added 35PWKs and a Nology Coil which I am guessing to put me in the 90HP range or so...give or take. That being said...for dunes, I'm still going to run stock gearing with a 21 inch rear paddle, I think 72 inch rollout)
