Try googling for a trail tech banshee tachometer... Can't say I've seen 'em...but I can't say they don't exist. What are you looking to gain by putting a tachometer on your banshee, by the way? Just curious...

What is your compression at?

Tamayto...Tamahto... it's all good!!

T6's will take to slightly ported motors. There's some threads on Planetsand all about what durations, etc. (porting talk...) will work and what won't. Saying that T6's in general won't work with Porting is a incorrect statement. However...T6s with more aggressive porting and mods not working very well...well, that's right on par. I still would love to see dyno and seat of the pants testing on those. I still say, anyone wanna donate some T6's to me to run temporarily, I'll pay for dyno time back to back with my cub and T5's vs. T6's.... It would at the very least be interesting.. A cub out of the box has more aggressive porting than I'd say 95% of stock ported cylinders out there.

Sorry...just the basic ideas at this point. Some cleaning and testing. Check your wiring for burned/cut wires, etc. Little stuff like that!

To be 100% honest, the very first thing I did on all my buddies' banshees was remove that. Take about an hour or so, taking your time, and it's very cheap for the kit. I think it's about 50 or 60 bucks for the cable, carb caps, drill, tap and idle screws. That, and it makes future tuning simple...there's really no down side to it.

As long as you have 1/2 an hour to let 'em cool down, you're set... :ermm:

I think you'd be wasting your money on a stock setup. I was able to demo a set, the old co-owner of the company lives within about 20 minutes of me, and I didn't like them as much as my T5s. However.... Add some porting and carbs to that motor, I'm sure they'd really shine. I also didn't care for the fit of them, rather the beer kegs between the legs when riding. I'm 6', and they bothered the shit out of me with my knees hitting them. When I'm ready to swap out from my T5's, I'm gonna go with Shearers...

buy a 4 stroke if you just wanna wheelie... :yelrotflmao: Banshees aren't easy to wheelie cause they have NO tourque...or very little until you're halfway wound out. Plus...they have a longer wheel base...too. However...if you're getting bored, as said. Get a shaved flywheel and a timing plate. Both cheap and easy to do. When you're ready for a fresh top end, then get some good porting done, NOSS head, clamp on filters, etc. Bigger carbs are a waste, IMO, until you get porting work to take advantage of them...

That Croatian (Not sure how it's spelled, either) Mico Cro Crop is bad ass. I just watched a little older fight...he kicked this guy in the leg so many times, and so hard...he couldn't continue.... When's the last time a UFC fight was stopped because someone was kicked that hard...IN THE LEGS. If that guy connects with that left foot to the head...it's lights out! He is bad ass...

Good enough! Figured it was something like that... Not trying to be a jerk...but do you think you could scale down that picture in your signature...another member had a HUGE pic for thier sig and took a little heat for it. Just trying to help out.... There's a program for free called Easy Thumbnail creator that works wonders!

Try fresh plugs. Clean the air filter... I'm assuming the temp hasn't changed drastically since your last ride. At the clutch lever, the stock perch has a wire going to it (certain years) for the TORS. There is also a wire going into your thumb throttle housing as well. I'd disconnect all your TORS connections, get some electrial cleaner, spary the piss out of 'em, and reconnect them. There is a tube going from one carb to the other, make sure that is in place, no cracks or holes in it as well. Lastly...might be time to take off the carbs and give them a good cleaning. Somebody else had a similar problem here a while back. he ended up taking the fuel valve out of the tank, and it was plugged up with Sand/Dirt. Although...you said it runs pretty good after idle, so...probably not the case.

Check all the electrical connections on the TORS, at the carbs, at the parking brake and the throttle. Air filter clean? Plugs new and/or in good shape? How old is the gas?

machwon on this board sells a leak down test kit on ebay, he'll probably ship you one if you PM him. I don't remember the price, but it was reasonable. Shoot him a PM, he's a straight shooter.

They'll be fine for the mods listed in your sig. When you start pushing some real ponies...that's where the Wiseco Shined. Yami pistons are cast, whereas the 'co's are forged. Unless you got a steal of a price on the yamie pistons, I'm not sure why'd you go with them. Do you have a hookup at a dealer or something?

Just do yourself a favor, buy a fresh top end kit. For 159 plus shipping, you can get EVERYTHING you need from magic. 1.5mm probably means 1.5mm overbore, which...does mean it's .060 over. Take them to a machine shop, have them mic the cylinders. They should be able to tell you if they can hone them and keep .060 over in there, or...you need to go to the next size. http://www.magicracing.com/Wiseco-Piston-K..._p_133-135.html Those already are wiseco pistons, as you pointed out: http://www.google.com/search?q=513p6+cd

Just re-read that... .080 is 370cc Each .010 is about 3 cc, but...keep in mind, your motor stock is 346cc... Not a "true" three fiddy. And of course, this only applies to a stock stroke motor.

I've actualy talked to one of the guys that works at Vitos a few months ago...he freequents the dyno I went to. We talked about a bunch of stuff...just not pistons that day. Helluva nice guy, very helpful. I've heard a bunch of conflicting stories on what Vito's does and does not do... MY last understanding is they no longer make (manufacture) any of their parts, they're simply a middle man, swap their sticker on it...and send it on it's way. They have several flavors of pistons. Their claim to add 6HP is pure BS, plain and simple... http://www.vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/home.php?cat=173

Despite our little spat about jetting, I agree. It's hard to beat a factory engine, period. Bottom line is...I think Wiseco ProLites are your best bet. Whether you're building a monster...or just freshening up a top end, you really can't go wrong. They are the industry standard, peroid...and for good reason. Honestly, oj...I'll get you more info on the Vitos... I truly believe you're better off with Wiseco. Now, when you're talking 4 stroke quads, now there's a whole new ball game. A bunch of good players in that market...

Aww..c'mon big O. My stockers lasted me 9 years in my 96...(Ok...before I bought it from my buddy, the motor was out for 5 of those years.. ) I've read a lot of bad about the Vitos SS pistons. However, of course...as with everything, I have a few friends that 100% swear by them, best thing since sliced bread for them. So.... As a member here once said (think it was RNBRAD) at one point or another, every part on my bike has failed someone else somewhere else... Well said. Daj...
-
99% of piston failure is incorrect jetting, too much timing, poor gas/wrong octane, incorrect clearances, taking advice from car guys (sorry, couldn't resist) etc. Very, very rare are piston defects... I highly doubt you'll get much valuable info on this poll... Are you posting this to figure out what type of piston YOU should buy? If so...just ask. (Wiseco are what I'd say MOST people use...and since Vito's are Wiseco w/ mods now a days, they're pretty much the same. Vito's does not manufacture any hard parts anymore, they're a machine shop and reseller only now a days...) Good luck on the poll...

I really have nothing to add....just wanted to say thanks to all for contributing to this thread, the 20 minutes or so it took to read made it 20 minutes closer to quitting time on a Friday. Is there any better feeling?? I try to stay out of the politics and religion wars on public forums...no one wins, and pissing matches are all that comes about. Brooke... Don't have any feelings one way or the other. You get an A for entertainment value, an F for banshee knowledge (due to not having one) ...so, in my book, that makes you a C student overall Hell...I was more of a D student myself... Have a good weekend all...

I ripped off my buddies airbox and lid, replaced with pods a few months ago. I told him to hold onto it cause someone will want one. Let me see if he still has it laying around, chase.... Not sure if he threw it out or not....

No matter what I did, they will rub on my stinger tubes from my T5. I have the angled ones for my PWKs. I found these so I don't melt my outerwears and filters!!! http://webforce.nwrain.net/founder/cascade...ORE_DEPT_ID=168

Did you change the spark plugs, and/or make sure it was fresh gas? Did you clean the carbs out? Depending on how long it's been sitting, could very well have gummed up the carbs...
