  1. These guys are good...literally door to door service... http://www.motorcycleshippers.com/s_slideshow.htm
  2. What is the actual compression? Check for dirt in the carbs and/or fuel tank...
  3. Thanks...but I can't take credit. I saw it on here elsewhere, perhaps from benbb or sredish, in one of the stickies. Ok...at sea level with pipes and a filter with the air box and lid, there is no way in hell you're lean with 300's. About 260 is what you'll end up with.
  4. What is the elevation where you ride? Go to the name search on the bottom left side, and find your elevation in feet. http://www.topozone.com/
  5. Normally...electrical problems surface when the bike has run a bit (the part itself heats up from use)... or, it won't work at all. I don't know squat about the Lectrons...is it possible they need a cleaning? Normally...the warmer it gets, the less you need the choke... I also know the Lec's aren't as finicky with temp changes are the Miks and Keihins though... YOu said compression is good, make sure your tank filter (fuel valves) are clean, clean lines and clean carbs... What oil/premix you running? What plugs? Is you ignition all stock? For giggles, what is your elevation and compression reading?
  6. Head over to PlanetSand.com. Not to knock the HQ at all...but this board isn't hard core drag racers like those folks are. You'll learn everything you need to know about meth, jetting, reading plugs, etc. They'll also tell you what plug to run, what gap, what fuel/oil ratio, etc., as well.
  7. I agree with him. You might go one or two sizes up or down on those mains. FMFs like a fatter pilot, but...you might have to put a 27.5 in there... If you need to turn the air screw more than 2.5 turns out to get it clean off the bottom, put the 27.5 pilots in...
  8. CPI and Shearers are the standards in drag pipes. Grand River makes a good pipe as well. CPI has more bottom, Shearers have more top.... Ride it with the Pro's on there first, see if you like it. You're only going to narrow your powerband with drag pipes, albeit with a few more HP... Then again, you're already doing that by getting drag porting...so...your call. I don't see anything about how/where you're gonna ride, what tires/gearing you're going to use...what suspension mods you've done (swingarm, shocks, etc.) .. DOn't overlook any of that...
  9. If you altitude is between 0 and 1000 feet.... Just pipes alone and an aftermarket filter WITH lid on, 260 main to start. YOu really need to post your mods, (which you did) temps you ride in and elevation going forward. Take the lid off since you ride dunes, make sure you get an outerwear for the filter, and bump the main up to a 280, again...if you at or near sealevel.
  10. If you live in or near Creighton, you're 150 miles from Jeff @ FAST Racing. He's in Holton, KS. If sredish's mechanic can't fit you in...I'm sure Jeff could. Give him a call...
  11. 28 to 30mm PWK or Mikuni carbs will work just fine. If you go any bigger than that with stock porting, I think you'll be wasting your money, let alone...you'll be taking away from the already absent low end. Honestly, drilling and tapping the holes in your stockers to remove the TORS is really no big deal. But, PWK carbs are much easier to work on... The slide design is prone to sticking on the stockers....not an issue on other models of carbs. If you want to stick to trailing, a single 35PWK 1 into 2 carb setup might be up your alley, as well!!
  12. What is your jetting at? How do your plugs look? have you done a compression test lately...? If all those check out, normaly it's electrical...when it heats up, it gets very stubborn. You can check the coil and leads as well as the stator with an OHM meter...specs and how to test are in any clymers manual.
  13. Head over to Planet Sand...Saber Racing is owned by Neal, who's a long time member over there...and is very, very knowledgable about the Hondas. www.planetsand.com
  14. Call Jeff at Fast Racing...he sells the chain by the foot, can probably give you just as good a deal. I think with just pipes and no porting on your motor, you won't like 15 tooth front unless all you do is ride hard dirt roads and are looking to gain a few MPH... 14/41 is really good all around gearing unless you're going 1/8 mile or sand dragging... I put 15/41 on my stock motor, Rocket Pipes (testing them) no air box, lightened flywheel and timing advanced 4 degrees...and I still didn't like the way it pulled.
  15. Same here...little Davie to all my dad's buddies, or Junior, or DJ...good stuff.
  16. At that elevation, and if those are the K&N Clamp on pods (no airbox)...you should be at about a 290 main jet, 25 pilot (stock) and 1.0 to 1.5 turns out on the air screw. I would bet they have 320 to 340 mains in there, which...would be correct for sea level riding in those temps. Too rich for you, though... Yeah, you're gonna need to pull the bowls off to see what is in there, but I'd bet it's a 300 or higher jet.
  17. Do a search on "dial a jet" Vito's carries them, and Dave Moore racing has some real good ones....
  18. My old man has always worked the night shift. So, growing up...we'd barely see him after school, except on weekends. He's always been my hero...and my good friend. Never had blowouts...lucky to say. As soon as high school was over, I decided to stay in the city...he moved out w/ mom to the "country"..as to say. I don't see him nearly enough. I still remember back in 84 when him and my uncle got their first taste of the sport. Yamaha Tri Moto 200 4 stroke 3 wheelers. Front suspension, no rear supension. Those were the days... He'd always find time to take me up north to ride at least once or twice a month...and like a kid at Christmas...I coudn't sleep the night before the trip. My pops has smoked since he was probably 13 years old. He's cut back...but, I know it's gonna get him sooner or later. He retires in less than 5 years...and I just hope he has some great years enjoying life after the work is done. We never had a lot of money growing up, I never had designer clothes, etc. But, I always had something to ride...always a roof over my head, a pot to piss in and food on my plate. Still my dream to win the lotto, he'd be my first call. Leave work right now, and as you do...anyone that has pissed you off (co-worker, boss, etc.) punch them square in the face (I'll handle any legal bills... )..... You and mom will be set, don't ever worry about another thing in your life.....it's taken care of. I only see my dad a few times a month....but, we live it up when he's around.... tithead, you're no pussy...don't kid yourself. I'm gonna cry like a baby when my old man goes, be it when I'm 30 or 50..... Just do the best you can, spend what time you can...and be happy knowing you've done all you could... Remember, above all: We're not here for a long time. We're here for a good time!!
  19. WOW!! It is clear no details or dollars were spared on that bike, it's stunning...period. Somebody's gonna get a rippen show bike. Good luck... Free bumpski...
  20. Free Bump for John.... John doesn't know squat about banshees... That pic in his sig is really a matchbox die cast model, not a real bike... I sold it to him for a dollar bill, so he could say he has a banshee model... You know I'm playin...J. I wish I was in the market right now...trying to get mine going. Later this year, I'm looking for a 4 stroke for trail riding with buddies...this would fit the bill perfectly! Timing is everything, as you know!! Bump for the Nyukster....
  21. Glad to hear... In the process of getting my carbs powerjetted as well...simply too easy not to do...
  22. You're using too much. That's like 18 or 19:1. Try 32:1.... 16 ounces per 4 gallons. Repacking your silencers has little more to do with your problem other than it'll be a little quieter...unless they're clogged up as all could be, or there is no packing at all. And...you really should check the compression in both cylinders. I'd almost bet you're in or very near the ball park for needing more than 93 octane. Is your timing stock, or advanced as well? Actually...this is really hijacking Macho's thread (sorry... ). You might want to start your own thread...and post a link to this one if you'd like....
  23. I'm selling my set of T5 Pipes, getting a good deal on RDZ pipes from my builder. I bought them from a fellow member, and would like to pass them on to another member before heading off to fleabay. These pipes are Chrome, but NOT pretty at all. They have a tiny ding in the right side pipe near the header, very small...no noticable power loss. Chrome is in rough shape. Hairline crack in one of the pipe brackets. The previous owner had Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles re-weld a silencer mounting bracket.... Again, these pipes are not show quality or perfect. But, they run just fine. If you're looking for a great set of pipes, cheap...but not visually perfect...these might be for you. My bike is at my builders, but I'll get the pipes back from him this weekend. I'll post some pics once I get 'em back and clean 'em up the best I can. Search around...T5s go for 275 to 350. I'll offer these up for 225 shippped, via Fed Ex with tracking number to the lower 48 states. Outside of that...we'll have to price accordingly for shipping. Anyone interested?? Here's a pic from last year...
  24. Oh...ok then... http://www.pwctoday.com/forums.php http://www.ijsba.com/ijsba/index.cfm?s=ijsba&t=forums.htm http://rivaforums.com/6/ubb.x
