  1. Yeah, those predaturds are slow fo sho... Now, I have to give credit where credit is due. Electric Start Shaft Drive Reverse 4 stroke All under 400lb dry weight. C'mon guys...that is pretty good. Ok...back to the bashing...
  2. Great...just great. Now who's going to raise my blood pressure with a million <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@@@@@@@@@@@#############$$$$$$$$$$$$%%%%%%%%%%%%%% @!!!!@ Look, it's a Jeep grill.... Oh, I don't wAnT tO forGEt typInG thiS GooD aS weLl...dAMn shAMe.... I personally think that this guy is Mel Gibson on a bender....
  3. I agree...too much oil. I think the manufacturer keeps it rich to be safe. Too rich for my taste... What is your jetting currently at with your mods, and what kind/size/type of carbs?
  4. I think N2O should be added after a fully built motor... For the price of the kit, a fuel pump and all the hassle getting it tuned, you could pretty much get a porting job on a stock shee that'll give you all the time HP with no tuning required, other than jetting. Now, if you're talking full blown 18 or 20mm Cheatah or Twister on alky, drag quad with all the bells and whistles and you're looking for a few tenths of a second, then...N2O is a viable option... Two strokes are finicky by nature, if you decide to unleash the bottle, make sure the rest of the motor is up to snuff. O Ringed head, welded crank, etc.
  5. Weigh the cost of a new crank vs. having yours rebuilt. If it's only gonna be a 200 more or so to get a new one, that's a better investment. Get some TZ or maxload bearings installed while you're at it.
  6. I would buy one if my stock CDI was shot, and I didn't have the almost 300 bucks for a Dyna programmable. For 100 bucks or so, they're a bargain. A new CDI from the dealer is over 500 bucks I think... Why on earth you'd pay that over a Dyna is beyond me... But, if you're buying one for performance reasons only, don't waste your money. Get a timing plate, set it at +4 and forget it. Better mod for 1/3 the price.
  7. You can go 7 or 8 all day long. I'm closer to 12 or 14 between my timing plate and my Dyna...but, the Dyna tapers off as the R's rise.
  8. Yep...ohm it out according to the manual or a Clymers book. I don't know the numbers off the top of my head, or which leads to test. However....I've heard of Stators being bad even though they ohm'd good.
  9. Thanks much, appreicate the business as well. Quick communication, quick payment...a few more items to sell... :yelrotflmao:
  10. You plug off the exhaust and intakes, apply about 6PSI of pressure for about 5 or 6 minutes. That checks the seals inside the engine. A leaking crank seal can cause gear oil to get into the crank case, causing one cylinder to smoke, common symptom. Do a search on her about leak down. RNBRAD made a very nice picture by picture info post.
  11. Shit red...if you maxed out a Ricky Stator timing plate, it's more like 12 degrees!!!
  12. That should be fine to run. Next...hate to say it, leak down test to be sure. Gonna have to make or build your own kit. PM Machwon on here, he makes a great kit, or you could spend a lot of time driving to Home Depot and other stores to build your own... You've gone over basics...time to get dirty now.
  13. Yep... just reread this post, and I didn't see you doing a compression test yet. That needs to be done next. A little smoke out of each until it warms up is ok...but, not one more than the other... Could be a ton of things. Sticky float in the carb, air leak somewhere, crank seal starting to go...
  14. Sorry...all my experience has been the opposite... To each is own.
  15. I think I have 150 Mains...but, I have powerjet installed...they're so good, it's like cheating.
  16. The outerwear lid is like a fine screen, that will most definately help...instead of a lid. It will not keep water and mud out but it will help with dust and dirt. You will get better performance by removing the lid...but, your call.
  17. Doesn't really matter what head you get, getting the jetting sorted and cleaned up may get back some of that bottom end, period. Depending on your elevation, you may be able to get away with a 20cc dome and pump gas...
  18. 260 main. If you're gonna mud, leave the lid on... But, I'll say it again, if you're gonna mud, you bought the wrong machine. Normal, dirt and dustry trails, leave the lid off once you get the alba kit.
  19. Fix your jetting before you do anything else. Flywheel will help, as will an adjustable timing plate and a shaved head for more compression.
  20. This is totally out in left field, but...I've seen weirder things happen. Drain your gas tank, and remove the fuel valve. make sure the bottom of the tank is clean, and the screens for the valve is too. A rider here went through a million things, ended up being sand in the tank, and the filters on his valve were damn near plugged. I think you're on the right track...
  21. Yeah...I have two buddies with banshees, neither of which are done up like mine. All the rest of the guys I ride with have 450s (5 or 6 of 'em) a few 400EXs, and a few other odd balls. Two of the guys I ride with have been riding a long, long time. Street bikes, dirt bikes, etc. They can ride, flat out. Granted, the one is probably 190 pounds, he can still ride. (However, took my cub out the other day...we played around and with both of us spinning on hard dirt and grass...I pulled on him pretty good for a 100ft race or so)... I can't wait to get my cubby in the sand where I can get some traction, it's gonna be fun.
  22. If you remove the lid and snorkel....280 will be safe. i'd buy an outerwear cover that goes over the top just for some help!!
  23. When you say K&N intakes...do you mean a filter that sits in your airbox, or the pod filters that clamp on the back of your carbs and remove the airbox all together? Example A. With Airbox, no lid. 280 Main, stock needle on middle clip, 25 pilots (stock) 1.5 turns out on the air scew... Example B. K&N Clamp on pods, no airbox 340 Main, stock needle on middle clip, 25 pilots (stock) 1.0 turns out on the air scew... Check your plugs from there....this is only a starting point, but should be safe for your temp and altitude...
  24. Hmm...good question. Always been a wiseco man myself. Does this help? http://www.pro-x.com/eng/oversizes.asp?No=01.2020
