bog and hesatation are sometimes hard to tell apart at lower rpms ,luckily you have the easiest jetting problem to fix ,heres how i do it:warm the bike up... pull the chokes out half way ride it around the yard testing with chokes pulled out and pushed in .if it runs better with the chokes out half wa y your pilots too lean if runs even worse your pilots are too rich .personally i think your pilots are to small and starving .also set your needle in the middle for this test ,the choke trick never lies and its noticable (confirmed lean or rich)by the seat of the pants too!

as a member on various atv 2 stroke sites i would say planet sand is a decent,but kinda hard to navigate site with really good info for people wanting to build strokers or badass high performance machines ,but if you have fmf pipes and want to know what jetting to use then your on the wrong site,these guys have little interest in anything but shaving .2 milliseconds off their 300 foot times. not that thats bad ,but its really setup for the serious competitor ,not so much the guy with p.c. pipes trying to race his buddy in a cornfield in Alabama. i have had learned good stuff on both sites ,i have had my posts deleted fro m planet sand before and these were general intelligent questions in the correct forum sections too! im a moderator on everything2 stroke s o im well versed on cleaning shit up and kids causing trouble on sites and i didnt deserve that deleted post stuff ,but its like anything you gotta take the good with the bad ,regardless of what site your on theres always gonna be kids asking and telling bullshit and pissing off the valued members,on E2s i get rid of that shit immediatly to keep the peace and maintain intelligent info and stop any pissing matches . lately to me this site is being infested and going downhill with nonsense bickering and keyboard racers involved in too many dick measureing contests

some will say gear up ,some say gear down. some say minus on the swinger ,others plus. ill give you some good advise . your dad needs several things to really be trail freindly ,first id get higher compression like 180 psi this adds drastic amounts of bottom end torque,also if its dune ported itll suck bad on trails ,he really needs an mx style port job to have response and not have to be always "on the pipe" all the time too ,also get platinum plugs so the y dont always "load up" or foul in the tight stuff,then id look into 22" maxxis all-trac tires, these really bite for trails IMO. id keep the swinger stock and width and gearing stock and run a newer used set of yfz450 front shocks off ebay(like185$) to soak up drops ,ruts,also pipe selection is critical.fmf knarly's , pt mids or dynoport 2-1 are really good choices for lowend rpm and response. do all this and itll chug and pull through the trails very well and rip in the open sections too

not saying b.s or anything ,but i highly doubt your friends raptor is making those numbers unless its on nitrous and booze too. even a highly modded raptor has trouble getting over 60 rwhp on a dyno. they ca n be made to rip though and the 727 worked over rappys can give a flattrack she a real run for its money.

its (700cc crapterd)still going to be a sluG IMO .the stock yfz 450 i just rode last night for the first time was pretty dam n quick for a 4 poke and much quicker than the 660 raptors are .really launches out of the hole and revs fast but mundane after 3rd gear too top speeds like 65 mph ,definitly an mx bike , its no screamin beast like a she is

the port timing specs for the t6 are set up to match up the lousy restrictive stock banshee portwork for the reverse waves of the pipe , if you plan to change this(portwork) your going to be way out of whack for scavenging return waves from your motor,thats why when you raise your exhaust port timing(port) it runs like shit on t6 pipes and a pipe like a rocket starts to come alive with power and produces much better gains 2 strokes are like jigsaw puzzles it all has to fit and work together

im not for sure what i wanna do yet ,im just wanting to try something different on my motor im in no way saying rockets arent the shit ,im just thinking maybe i could see better results on my combo similar to wesw did with his dyno of shearersvs. rockets , rockets are excellent pipes IMO and if all else fails ..its just a set of pipes, i can always buy another set again and go back if im not satisfied
