  1. plastic containers slowly over time rob fuels octane rating and make the gas stale... id say after 2-3 months throw it in the weedeater or start a campfire ,id store it in a metal container out of the light and in a cool dry place
  2. the intake isnt where your going to see the bulk of your power increases ,would a better design help and alter some power to a specific area? ..absolutely ,but the real power is going to be in other areas .a bigger intake boxed reed area isnt really needed on a banshee till you start getting into large bore stroked combinations .the velocity over volume concept works like a charm.alot of builders including myself add boysen ports but unfortunately on a banshee they have to be located on the sides of the intake wall which IMHO isnt a good direct and distanced way to feed into the lower end for the full benefit like you see on most newer designs including cubs .
  3. heres my 2 cents : i have ported a shit ton of banshee cylinders in my day and i have jetted in probably triple that amount ....i think the toomey needles suck plain and simple . ive seen them make banshees run like shit too many times to consider them a good upgrade.they are too fat in the midrange and too lean off idle ,the length and taper doesnt work very well IMHO .their T5 and for mild motors the T6 pipes are decent well thought out exhausts though .
  4. i have a stock stroke cub and i think your builder is full of it ... if so ,you would think the longer stroke cycling through the cylinder would cause this over a standard stroke cub.
  5. not every builder does overrides the same ,so the ansewers will be abit subjective.in my experiance i dont see why anyone would take the entire topend off for that, just a waste of time and gaskets ...just flip it over and install through the bottom .also i dont see the need for sending out the cases other than so the builder can visually inspect everything for any repairs that may be needed .install the new springs i n the right order and the forks ride inside the internal grooved tracks of the modifed shift drum so really to me theres no issue there on location .
  6. i will keep hush on my opinion of some other builders but in my own experiance rob at RDZ treated me right ..he said hed make me a great cheetah cub pipe that reved insane high rpms over a wider powerband than most and he did just that in my case ,they dont fit exaclty perfect like some pipes and they dont look the prettiest like some others do ,but they perform exactly as stated and yes ive owned shearers before ...and theyre sold now (not that matt shearers work is subpar ,cause its right up there top of the line stuff IMO) i say if your not happy with the portwork or quality id call him up immediatly and let your concerns be heard so he can make it right . cobwebs ... never heard of that before
  7. ah that sucks ,i never had that problem or heard of it o n them but its(company) changed hands so many damn times now who knows . i assume you guys get that new port jetted in okay?
  8. i have been told i have a "pretty mouth" too
  9. yeah its a nice setup esepcialy if yo u decide to add a shift pro arm . ultra reliable for many years of use ,yo u ride it like a normal stock tranny and dont need the added concern of backloading the forks or anything coming apart ....just smooth shifts the way it should be having every other dog cut allows the engagement to be much easier instead of it of smacking around trying to find its location so the gear can finally grab.IMO they should have made them stock this way.JKJK is correct the machine work alone would cost about this much
  10. these are best suited for fuels ~other~than just race gas and work better on bigger displacement engines if i had a ported 350 on gas ...i wouldnt waste your time
  11. really theres just too many factors to give a definitive number for top speed ive ran that gearing on 20' tires and hit 93 mph on a stock stroke drag port on pavement before .mostly the sprocket gearing combination yo u choose would limit the top speed ...even a 10 mill on alky isnt going to go too much faster than stock jugs if your maxed out for gearing ,...just like anything theres limitations .i have no doubt it has the power capability is there to go into the 120's + ,just a matter of setup and how/if you wanna rob Peter to pay Paul
  12. yep youll get lots of lowend on anything below 18cc ...but theres a hefty price to pay ...like lose probably 1500 rpms and thats most likely where your bike will make most of its hp and torque.you will also murder your crank and rod bearings and rings will wear faster at over 180lbs of static compression .if your stock unwelded crank is thinking about seperating it will do so under those extreme pressures .id run either 19cc or maybe 18cc on a 350 ,your porting plays a big part in this too
  13. try thunder valley dirt drag... just over the ohio border on march road in east rochester oh.,probably a straight 2.5 hour drive for you Brad ,they run 300 foot drags there a small venue only 30-50bikes ,cash payout ....theres one tonight at 6:00-9:30 ....then sept 8 ,22 and october 13.and Matt dombrosky will be there
  14. as said earlier ..2 or 4 stroke alike ,the engine will only be as reliable as the person whos maintaining it .....only real difference is that a 4 poke will run like shit longer before it finally lets loose than a 2 stroke would
  15. title says it all ,i need a stock usable splined brake hub with a good brake rotor atached ,i also need a stock she bearing carrier with good bearings in it !!,example: if yo u had to take a 30lb sledge to crack it loose off the axle or use your neighbors F350 to rip it off the rear end ... i dont want it ...but if its in real good shape and the price is fair please send me a PM please
  16. I know it can be frustrating but dont get discouraged ,this is very common after a big upgrade like you did.its porobably that junk ricky stator/timing electrical issue .id say go through the list of things to check fpr and do a process of elimination and youll figure it out eventually ,im sure it has nothing to do with the porting that was done by your builder ,not saying it cant happen but its most always error on your part during installation
  17. the inner diameter is 2 3/8" get them 6 inches long ,not sure of the exact part number though .... i think rocky mountain sells them for about any size youd need ,i wouldnt run outerwares o n them ,not enough air flow also the 2stage foam filters alot better than most so it wount be needed IMO
  18. a general rule for banshees is the more exhaust area the more power your going to make but of coarse theres a limit to this concept ,virtually every modern 2 stroke engine uses this design with sub exhaust ports so that the pressure is dramaticly dropped at the right time in the stroke and closed off when the it needs to build up .I have added dual sub ports to single ex port cylinders before ,not only is a terrible bitch and time consuming task(and dangerous lol) but you have the disadvantage of added heat and possible coolant leaks,I think its a really neat idea and with the right parts and setup they can make as much as a stock stroke cub or about any 4mill ,but at what cost ????wil lit be worth it to you ? it will realisticly cost the same or more than a a cub monoblock would and youd have the risk of cooling and leaking issues and not to mention the added wear to the iron sleeve which have a limited life span as it is .i would recommned a stock stroke 358 cub or drag ported 4mill oem jugs ,i n the right hands they can run right with a 421 cub.my 2 pennies
  19. well when i spoke with him like a year ago about it he said he made pipes for several different companies and vitos was definitly one of those mentioned ,but they make theyre own silencers like eddie sanders does ..andy may make them now, andys pipe designs dont look anything like them i n any way .. not sure if thats still the case or if there was some changes .rob fro m RDZ may be an ass to deal with personaly but he makes excellent exhaust pipes as good IMO as shearers and builds some pretty fast bikes ,fast enough to win the planet sand drags
