  3. Yeah thanks for the advice, I have used jeff before but I doubt he can do 130 shipped on piston kits with gaskets, this is just my bike I lend to buddies when at the dunes so I am trying to be budget minded, thanks

  7. My motor that was just built lost the crank, tore up my domes and wiped out my new bore. So I am needing a stock crank,preferably welded, if not I can get it done locally, I also need some 18 or 19 domes for a cool head. Let me know what you may have!!
  8. I have the head off the bike so I would have to reassemble, I am thinking I will just tear the motor down, there is no other option. The crank seal is brand new and I know I installed it correctly, I had to mess up the yama bond.
  9. This is odd. I have built 15-20 banshee motors and never had an issue. I tore one down and replaced the tranny and since than we have run it only a few minutes. I sold the bike and the guy called the next day and said it wouldnt run. It ran great for me. He brought it down and the right side only fires at a certain rpm, when it quits firing and then starts firing again it smokes like crazy. The only thing I can figure is that it is sucking oil into the bottom end on the right cylinder and burning it. I puilled the head and the cylinder walls and piston top are sticky. I think it is oil because the bike will not clear out and run like it would if it was fouling, the carb seems to be functioning fine and I have swapped plugs and wires around, the issue never leaves the cylinder. It is worse at higher rpm which tells me it is when the bottom end is creating more pull to suck in oil. I wouldnt think that double edged seal on the clutch side of the crank could leak, it is new, I guess I could have a flaw in my seal between the cases? Anyone ever experienced this?
  10. I got a free dishwasher off my local classifieds that I just hook to the hose. I thorw everything in it with just a splash of simple green. Works great on all my greasy jeep crap.

  13. I had a rear shift fork bend and seize one of the sliding dog gears to a trans main shaft. Just to be safe I would probably like to swap out the whole trans, bare minimum I need the rear main shaft with all the sprockets on it, and the rear set of shift forks. Let me know what you may have, im pretty broke right now but would like to get my bike fixed. Let me know what you may have!! Thanks Mike
  14. I have heard of this but never had to repair or diagnose a shee with it. I bought a bike low to sell slightly higher, helping a buddy out who needed cash. I though the shifter shaft was worn out and not rolling the basket to change the gears. It looks good so is not the issue. The bike only has two gears, I think it is 3-4 or 2-3. Will not neutral but the odd thing is if I put pressure on the shifter or the shift drum, it neutrals. This makes me think a bent fork but I thought I would ask before I tore the motor down, he said it was fine and then suddenly wouldnt shift. Also if the clutch cushions are shot do I buy a new set of them or replace the basket? The bike is on a budget for sure, but I see the clutch cushion sets and wondered if new bolts came with it to replace the rivets or how that worked? If the shift fork is bent do I buy a used one from ebay or are there new forks available?

    I have such a cobbled together bike, it was a joke when i bought it, it is really nice now but I am missing a ton of the fasteners to hold it together. Anyone have bolt kits from part outs laying around? I would love to get some of the stainless stuff like on ebay, but cant afford it right this second. Thought I would see what anyone has laying around.
  18. I am looking for new carbs, I have run 35mm airstrykers before and loved them but found a decent deal on 36mm pwk's, which arent the airstrykers. Anyone know the difference?

  21. I have Mikuni's on my bike I bought. I am a keihin guy and like my pwk's. I tried tuning with the mikunis but I just dont like them. So I am selling them. But I dont know what they are worth, maybe someone can tell me. They are a 35 mm carb bored out to maybe 36mm? I can see the bore marks. They also have a boss in the bowls that has another fuel line going up to an adjustable jet in the intake, the guy said K&T did all the work and the jet was to add more fuel when your wide open, is like a seperate adjustable main, when the bike is 3/4 to full throttle the fuel starts pumping through that extra jet, I can see it in the clear lines. The carbs are a year old, and he said he was $600 hundred for them. I think they are a tm carb, they have 2 screws holding the top of the slide in, the slides are rectangular. Any advice on what to sell these fairly for?
