  1. Does the TZ bearing only work with straight cut gears? I ask because I wonder if the straight roller style has thrust issues with the stock cut angled gears. Also is there a tz style bearing for the stator side? Or should I just run the regular roller style ball bearing on each side, the one Jeff lists as a max load bearing.I am looking at my options because my stator side bearing just came apart on my brand new hot rods crank. I am so happy.

  2. At Sand Hollow three weeks ago my bike quit shifting and was making horrible clunking noises like when I was on the gas like it was trying to down shift gears under a load. I tore the clutch cover off and we could not get the bike to get into a gear higher then third on the trailer. I split the case and cant find anything wrong, the forks look straight and I can get everything to spin and turn the shift drum through the gears. Occasionally when shifting by hand I get a rough spot between second and third but with it out of the bike and the case off I know everything is not in perfect alignment. How do I find my issue?

I did find that my hot rods crank that has 4 weekends on it decided to lose its stator bearing and tear some shit up so I guess it is good I tore it down this is the second one of these cranks to lose bearings with low hours, they are junk.

  3. I don't have experience with any type of override,so i'm not sure what they are like. But in mine,i have a cut Rz drum and forks with a modded shift star, plus the trannny gears have been cut too.You can shift it fast or slow and its really smooth, doesn't have that notchy feel to it at all when shifting. If you have ever ridden a 250r,its like that, probably even better. The problem is finding the Rz stuff in good shape and getting it for a good price.

I have a question too while we're on this subject. When you get a duneable done,do they just need the drum or the gears and everything too?I have my stock drug still and if thats all i need,i might have to try one out in the future.

So who did the machine work on the rz stuff just so I can explore it as an option

  4. duneable override and lockout for sure.

i would stay away from anything alba makes.

call FAST, he will set you up..

I hoped you would chime in I know you have alot of experience with the override. Everything I search about the override makes it sound like it is for more motor than my bike has. Also I was concerned about the no downshifting stuff. I dont hillshoot at all only dune ride.

  5. My stroker/duner has never put power to the ground like it should. Jeffs clutch, basket and pancake bearing fixed it. Holy god my bike ran like it never had before, for about 3 hours of riding. Now I can not get neutral, and cant get out of 3rd or 4th. I tore it down on the trailer and found that I could not spin the tires and roll the shift drum. I haven not torn it down yet but I am guessing a shift fork or the like. So if I was going to spend a little of money on my trans where should I spend it? I do not think I want an override because my wife rides it occasionally.

So I was thinking the shift star, Jeffs shift shaft spring mod, maybe the Alba shift drum and bearing. But what else? Are there better shift forks? I search and dont find much but how do I get this trans to hold up better? Another ruined weekend and a 450 will replace the damn thing in my garage.

    Thanks for any advice

BTW I would guesstimate this bike turns 75 horse...

  6. Looking for a nice set of T5 silencers. My ratchet strap tail came untied while my bike was on my car hauler with 5 others and the trailer ran the end of the strap over. It bent my frame, grab bar and ripped both of my silencers off the back of the bike. Silencers I just bought. Im not too happy and poor because I just paid tuition, but I have to get new ones.

Let me know what you have got, and tie your strap ends up better then me!!!!

  7. Asking for the 3% bothers me also and I have noticed more people doing it on this site. I tend to stay away from sellers when they ask for the buyer to pay the fees. Just price it higher to cover the cost. It is like if a business tried to charge you extra for using a credit card. It is just part of doing business and is suppose to covered by the seller. Just my 2 cents. Free bump!

Again, dont use paypal if you dont like it, I will take any of the mentioned methods of payment. As for pricing it higher, I posted what I want for the item, if someone wants it they can deal with how they would like to pay for it. If they need to use paypal I will not eat the fees. If there is an issue rather then dragging it into my for sale thread you could always pm me.

  8. It's against paypals policies to forward the 3% charge on to buyers #1 and 2, you have it listed for $700 on that site and $750 here.

$750 shipped little buddy. It will probably cost me around 150 to ship the parts so I will lose about 1000 dollars total. Everyone asks for the 3% paypal fees, regardless of what paypal says. I can find you ten for sale posts probably in three pages that want the extra 3%.

I will always take money order, cashiers check, or personal check given time for funds to clear.
