If you have a Q-2 dump tube in them, you need to order the Q-0 dump tubes, and change them out. That's one thing I had to do to mine, to get them to run right. Talk to Jeff at Fast Racing. He can steer you in the right direction.
Clean the buffing pad, so it doesn't have a lot of compound on it, and that haze will go away. The buffing pad has to have a bit of compound on it, but not a lot.
You went to a 15 on the front, to get more top speed, but when you went up one on the rear, that took part of your top speed away. Put the back sprocket back to 41, and leave the front at 15.
If you have holes drilled in the lid, you can cover them with duct tape, when it gets colder. It's just another easy way to cut back on the air, as it gets colder, without having to have two lids.
Did you pull the main jets, and pilot jets out, when you cleaned the carbs? Are the air mixture screws adjusted the same? Have you done a leak down test on it, to check for possible air leaks?
If gas is coming out the overflow tubes, then you've found your problem. Either your floats are set wrong, or the needles, and seats above the floats are dirty, or need replaced. Get a Clymer's manual, while you're at it.
Replace the needles, and seats above the floats. Pull the pilots out, and see what size they are. If they are 25's, get some 27.5's, and put in. If you don't have a Clymer's manual, now would be the time to get one ordered.
New carbs will not help your problems, if it's just the jetting that's causing the problems. Give us your mods, elevation, temps, and current jetting, so we can help.
With that low of compression, starting is very hard, if not impossible. As far as other problems being present, who knows, until you replace the top end.
FAST Racing has the pilot jets, and he ships quick. Go with a site sponsor, for the best results.

Put some 27.5 pilots in the carbs, and set the air mixture screws to 1.5 to 2 turns open. Most aftermarket pipes like a little bigger pilot, and that's especially true with the FMF pipes.
