  1. The stock exhaust system holds heat at the front of the engine, and it also doesn't allow for very good air flow. Yes I know, the Banshee is liquid cooled, but anything you can do to inprove air flow over the engine will help. Try some engine ice for coolant. A lot of people on BHQ use it, and say it helps tremendously. I've never used it, so I don't know personally, but I'm not going to dispute the claims, until I have some facts to back it up.
  2. I have to disagree with the statement above. I had a set of Edge's 21x12x8 10 paddles, and ran them for 5 or 6 years, without any trouble at all. Maybe you got a bad set, but I've always ran Skat-Trak paddles, and I've never had a paddle, even start to come off.
  3. I had two different sets of FMF's, that I ran for 10 years, and I never had a problem with them. The finish isn't as nice as some of the other brands, but they sure did perform, and very well. I beat a lot of other bikes, with the "prettier" pipes. If your looking for a performance gain, and not so much bling, dollar for dollar, you can't beat the FMF's. Just my .02, and chrome doesn't win races.
  4. If your plastic is really scratched, and dirty, then you must wet sand it, to get the best results. It takes a lot of time, to do all of the plastic, if you do it according to directions.
  5. I was told, years ago, from a local builder/racer, that hard cold starting, was a sign of being too lean, and I've experienced the same problem as stated above. I just turned in my air mixture screws, to richen up the pilot circuit, and it ended the cold start problems.
  6. Try turning in your air mixture screws, a 1/4-1/2 turn each, and see if that helps.
  7. Any kind of degreaser, or petroleum based product, will take the PC Renew off of your fenders. I tried it once before, and it was more of a hassle than it was worth. You spend all that time sanding the plastics, and putting the renew on, and it doesn't take much of anything, to peel it off, or wash it off. It needs to be more permanent, and more chemical resitant. Just my .02.
  8. Someone has already done it. There was a video of the quad, posted in the video section of BHQ. Might be worth checking out.
  9. I had to replace mine, after 3-4 years of use, because a couple of the petals wouldn't close all the way. No cracks or chipping in them though, so I saved them, for an emergency repair.
  10. The hub nuts should be tight, with no play in them. Just make sure that you can get a cotter pin back in the hole, when you tighten up the nut. It can be a hassle getting it tightened down, and lined up to put the cotter pin back in.
  11. Check out this Ebay auction, #180003194770. Same place I got my +4 from.
  12. I'm glad that you found your problem, and hopefully got everything taken care of. Hopefully my comments didn't come across as me being rude, because that's not what I intended. If you have your problem solved, I'm pretty sure you will love the way the V-Force's perform. When I put mine in, and I hadn't made any other changes to the motor, I could tell they made the throttle response better, and the HP seemed to be a little better. Good luck.
  13. If you don't follow the instructions that V-Force provides, then I can't see where you have room to complain about them not lasting, or working very good. I bought an aluminum intake, and had to have the flanges machined off of the intake, so that I could run the V-Force's. If V-Force thought that a spacer would work between the intakes, and the cages, they would have put that as an option, in the instructions. :baseball_wibble:
  14. According to Duncan, the Pyramid reeds need to be changed after every 10 hours of use. I've had a set of V-Force II's, ever since they came out, and have never had a problem with them, and I've only changed the reeds once. IMHO, you can't find a better reed set-up, than V-Force.
  15. If you get any water in your filters or carbs, it will lean the fuel mixture out, and cause the RPM's to rise. Mine will do it now, even with different carbs, 34mm flatslides, when the filters get wet. Just ride it easy, until all the water gets out. Just my .02.
  16. Here's another joke, along the same lines. How do you get a nun pregnant??? Dress here up like an altar boy!
  17. that comment about having no bottomend with the Cpi's in the dunes kinda scares me though. I have a set of CPI's, and I used to run FMF Fatties. The CPI's on my bike come on sooner, and rev out higher than the Fatties used to, with the same set up. Of course, the porting will affect the pipe performance. Don't be afraid of getting CPI's, you'll love 'em. Just my .02.
  18. You will have to get the head cut, even if you use the 795 series Wiseco's. These pistons, only make up for the added length of the rod, and not the added stroke of the crank. Your pistons will still come out the top of the cylinders 2mm, and hit the head, if you don't have it machined.
  19. Part of what is going to determine your needed dome size, is your port work, if you have it done. If you port it, and have the exhaust port raised, that in itself, will drop your compression. You should really get it ported, if you use the +4mm stroker crank, and then you should ask your builder what domes to get for it. I got all of my parts from Jeff@Fast Racing, and he talked me into 19cc stroker domes, but I run a 50/50 mix of race and pump gas.
  20. Sounds very lean on the bottom end. You replaced your filter with a K&N, and rejetted the main, but you didn't do anything to the pilot or needle. Your plugs could be black, from being to rich on top, but you could still be lean on the pilot, and/or needle.
  21. I'm running 19cc stroker domes in my Coolhead. PM Fastoys, and talk to Jeff. He will answer any of your questions, and will have the domes you need.
  22. It could be too lean on the pilot circuit. Try turning in your air mixture screws a 1/2 turn each, and see if that helps.
  23. I called CPI, when I was sent a shitty set of silencers, and was told by them, that a new set was 120 plus shipping, directly from them. Just thought you might want to know.
  24. I was watching one of the video's, that a HQ'er posted of himself racing his YFZ450, and my anti-virus caught a worm or trojan trying to be downloaded on my computer, but this was back before the site update. Not saying the HQ'er put the crap in the video, it could have been someone else, but you never know anymore. Keep everything updated, and scan for viruses and spyware daily, and you shouldn't have very many problems.
