  1. Have you cleaned the carbs? Make sure the gas cap is venting properly, and check for air leaks on the left side.
  2. Probably just the low speed riding caused it to get hot. It's gotta have quite a bit of air flowing through the radiator, or it'll start dripping coolant.
  3. Run 3 light springs, and 3 heavy springs, just make sure that you alternate them one light, and one heavy all the way around.
  4. Are the air mixture screws adjusted the same?
  5. The octane booster is a waste of time, and money, because it doesn't raise the octane near as much as claimed, plus it will cost you more in the long run, than race gas. Put bigger domes in the head, to lower your compression.
  6. Apply the choke, and see if the problem gets better, or worse, and then let us know.
  7. X's 2 on the Eset NOD 32. McAfee is a resource hog, just like Norton, and both of them are POS. Cnet, and download.com are safe to download from. Instead of using your debit card to purchase online, why don't you just go buy a prepaid debit, to use online? $25, $50, or $100 bucks at a time, and once they are gone, chuck 'em in the trash and go get a new one. No more worries about some thief stealing your bank account info, and money.
  8. If you have a Clymer's manual, it will tell you exactly what to do, and it also has pics. If you don't have, it's a must have.
  9. You get what you pay for, so if you're wanting good, cheap, sand tires, then I wish you the best of luck,, because good isn't cheap, and cheap isn't good.
  10. That's wrong. 95, and 96 are the two years that are different.
  11. If you've got pipes on it, leave the 27.5 pilots in the carbs, and set your air mixture screws on both carbs at 1.5-2 turns open. Make sure both are adjusted the same. It will take it about 20-30 seconds to adjust. If it's running good, and is still smoking bad, and/or dripping oil from the silencers, it's probably time to repack them.
  12. For bare aluminum, AP 300 is the shit, but it's pricey, and you'll have to order it.
  13. What I don't get is, this thread went from which do you prefer, a stock head, or cool head, to a stock head with porting is way better than a cool head. Talk about changing horses in the middle of the stream.
  14. Try new plug boots, and good luck with the RM stator, as about everything RM, or RS is junk Chinese shit.
  15. I don't know where you learned to do math, but according to the poll results, which are 57-5 in favor of a cool head, your math doesn't add up. It's 92%-8% saying cool head. I'm guessing your next thing to say is that people running a stock head aren't voting, and I'm going to call BS on that. The poll results say it all, so f*cking deal with it. People aren't voting cool head just to prove you wrong, they are voting cool head, because they have one, and know how much better they are than a shaved stocker. You should really call a bunch of the site sponsors, and get their opinions on this, but I'm afraid you won't, because you can't stand being proved wrong, even with the results staring you in the face, in black, and white. I've honest got to say, that you are the biggest douche bags that I've ever saw on an internet forum.
  16. What are your mods, and what jets do you have? You could be lean on your pilots.
  17. If you are using an after market stator cover, you have to seal it with some silicone, or it will get water inside, and cause the problems you had. If everything tests out ok, then you should be all right, providing nothing else goes wrong. It's a chance we all take, every time we go riding.
  18. First off, get rid of that POS Tors system. If something goes wrong with it, and it usually does, the bike will not start. There's a thread on here, about getting rid of the Tors system.
  19. It sounds like the right side pilot jet is plugged up. Take the carb off, pull the main jet, and then the pilot jet. Clean both of them with some carb cleaner, and blow them out with an air compressor. Re-install them, and make sure both air mixture screws are set the same on the carbs.
  20. You need a set of 30 pilots. Once you install them, set your air mixture screws at 1.5 turns open, and go from there.
  21. 290 mains are what I ran with FMF Fatties, foam air filter in the box, with the lid on. Once I went to a K&N in the box, I had to use 320 mains. Sooner, or later, you're going to need some different sizes of mains. Temperature changes, elevation changes, future mods, and so on. Having only a few different sizes of main jets is going to be a pain, because you'll have to go buy them somewhere, and won't have them right there, when you need them.
  22. If you have taken the snorkel off of the lid, I'd say you will end up around 310, or 320 on the mains. You should order mains in sizes from 280-320. It's an addiction. LOL
  23. Do a plug chop, once you get the pilots put in, but you should have at least 280, or 290 mains in the carbs. I ran 320 mains with the same setup, but your elevation is going to affect the jetting, also.
  24. It's to lean on the pilots. Most after market exhaust systems require a 27.5 pilot jet in the stock carbs, to be jetted properly. Get some 27.5 pilots, put them in, and start out with your air mixture screws at 1.5 turns open. Adjust them from there, as needed.
