  1. Someone is missing out on some big power
  2. HahaBut I do love seeing that picture. I like to imagine some fat old biker doing that with a hammer and chisel. In a storage unit with only one light. I would also think they have some Motörhead playing in there and there all fucked up. Probably there friends kids banshee they said they can fix and make it go faster. That's how I see that work going down.
  3. A few bucks. My local Yamaha dealer does them for me for free. Spend enough money they'll eventually start to help you out maybe.
  4. that was an interesting point you brought up. So I looked into it, and it does. My best guess at why they did this was for a flat surface and to install the nuts into the tank. Now with that said, it is minuscule. I filled the tank with water sat it in a frame and let it flow. The original stopped about 3 seconds before the new one. So I'm not that concerned. Also a full tank will last my girl a full day. I don't think she's ever even turned to reserve
  5. It's going on the girlfriends bike. Held water today too. Thanks people for the support and hate.

    Got one 40 bucks shipped
  7. Something concern you about that?
  8. Just to see how easy/hard it is. So if anyone in the future wants to do it they can see its fairly simple.
  9. It's cheap. It cost me nothing. In total the time it took me was maybe a little over an hour. Like I said, I have a pingle. But I'm all for free/cheap mods. I had a slotted stock timing plate. I do all this on my girlfriends bike because its just to try stuff out. I did all the porting as well on her bike. Next is modding the trans.
  10. I have a +2 that I would swap you. I have 2 sets of fat bar clamps as well. My girlfriend isn't happy with it
  11. Got my holes drilled/cut out. I roughed up the surface with some 80 grit sand paper to really give the rtv something to adhere to. After getting RTV all over everything and everywhere, I got it mounted. So maybe tomorrow I'll get this thing filled with some water and see if it leaks. But I would just like to thank zillafreak for sending me petcock at no charge. Bri894 for offering me a petcock which I still have yet to pick up from him.
  12. I chucked my coolant bottle in the trash. My girlfriends coolant bottle, in the trash. There not important.
  13. Do a leak down test. Yeah the jug gasket. Is your compression tester up to par? I can understand having to kick the hell out of it with 100 psi. But you say sometimes it'll fire fist kick cold. Then once it warms up it gets difficult. To me that sounds like an electrical issue. If you can, do a leak down test. Double check your compression readings agains another tester.
  14. What size base gasket did you use? Did Kevin recommend a new jetting? Did you do a leak down test?
  15. I'm talking about the rubber coolant jacket plug. I was still talking about the smoking issue, but it seems you tool care of it.
  16. You know what, I just re read that and saw you fixed the smoke problem. Now your problem is the low compression.
  17. Okay. So you used all the new gaskets and all that good stuff. Good catch on the crank seal. Now did you use yamabond or equivalent to re-seal the cases? You went across the back of the crank connecting the 2 sides? The plugs on the bottom of the cylinders aren't leaking? Were you able to tell if it was coolant or oil?
  18. What was involved in this top end rebuild?
