Thack, your coming off as an attention whore. EVERYONE KNOWS YOUR BUILDING THIS YFZ THING. You don't need to tell every one in every post. Simple as that. We already know.
We know because you make a reference to it in every post you make. So stop posting about your yfz bike in all your post telling every one.
See how that can get annoying.
A charging system? Are you saying you haven't heard on anyone doing a DC conversion?
Or because no one said anything you didn't consider it?
Compression test it. A leaky carb can burn down a motor. You suck it dry an it leaks all over, lean. Melted piston. You continued to ride. Well that was dumb.
Do a comp test. See where the cylinders are at. After that do a leak down test. See if you have a leak.
These 2 test are important. Before during and after motors are assembled ran and broke.
Has anyone actually had both WSM and wiseco pistons in there hand at the same time to compare? I have.
And I'm not running wiseco in my bike. But I'm talking forged.
Regardless cast or forged, both are fine as long as you have the proper clearances.
Chain was centered. I didn't have to. Do anything. Adjustments will be a bitch. I'll wait to see how, theses minimal room. And I'll get a rotor guard soon. I don't really need these as I ride sand and trails maybe once a year. I just liked it.
Got it today and installed. Sweet piece simple design. 100% function. Fit perfect did t have to do a thing. JDS swing arm, rotor, and sprocket guard. All good so far.
I'll get a ride in on Sunday weather permitted.
