I've run my bike out of fuel plenty of times. Wfo mostly. My bike has never seized or blew up or lean run way. Just bogs out and dies.
I've heard it's bad. But have never actually seen anything bad happen. Not even on here. Just heard all second hand
it's going to be hard to do in an R frame. The steel/aluminum is going to require a lot of skill But take it and look. It's not all going g to be laid out in front you. These swaps are always a guessing game.
Quality heim joints are better. There better then ball joints.
There better then the bushing and sleeve on the top of the arms.
