I don't know. I don't know if it actually gets in. They say the Teflon lined don't need it. I spray the graphite in and move them around. It builds up in the Teflon.

Dry. Keeping them lubed attracts dirt. And keeps it around. At least dry it has a better chance. But I do like the graphite dry lube

No preventative maintenence. I leakdown every few months. Comp test the same. Maybe in between if I'm bored. There basic test. They give you an idea of where your engine is at.
