my flat track experience is VERY limited, but from it: Use a sway bar. your money will be better spent on that. if I remember just one thing from my first flat track, it was wanting a sway bar.

Ya, you're static compression and running compression are two separate things. Redo for sure, but as a rule of thumb, you want no more than 10% difference between the sides.

I'd say pick up a stiffer spring. The preload is good for what it's designed for, but that's not compensating for too light of a shock. and FYI: you can compress the spring without negatively affecting the travel. I don't know how much though.
