  1. yeah if you dont have cylinder wall damage you can get away with a hone and rings maybe. worth a try.
  2. www.trinityracing.com they are a cheetah rep
  3. but did you put the PC stickers on that came with the pipes? that could make all the difference in the world
  4. it has 14 teeth i think stock, just check yamaha's website to be sure. for longr gears you can go up one front tooth or down 2-3 on the back. but for bottom end you will need to get lower gear ratio via a smaller front or a larger rear sprocket.
  5. no, you will be ok duc. nothing happens at all to your ports. the longrod is an option that allows for a lower degree of rotation on the actual wristpin bearing itself. and the rods are 5mm longer, so the wristpins are 5mm higher in the pistion. nothing about your piston motion changes at all. the 4mm crank is a WHOLE diff. story and im sure that what the guys at your shop are thinking of. those do affect port timing and but like i said its a subject for a different day when youve got more money to spend on another new crank.
  6. watch the vid. http://media.ebaumsworld.com/index.php?e=loading-a-bike.mpg whatcha think?
  7. wee, i love boobs. drink one for me and the rest of the crew, so at this count you have 13732 beers to drink. better get started
  8. what do you mean by weld the swinger?
  9. if you like to turn, not slide, then get the sandstars. the haulers hookup a lil to much for me and it makes the bike kinda push the frontend through the turns. just my opinion though.
  10. if its idlin hi and you didnt f with the carbs check these things. 1. see if the throttle cable is routed properly and isnt holding the slide open partially. 2. check for an airleak, hose down the motor with wd-40 and see if it revs any higher, if so youve got a leak. 3. umm, someone else add to this, im out of ideas.
  11. the machinist at my work also happens to do all of the tig welding and he has repaired fractures like that before with a tig. so if you are handy with tig go for it, if not i would find a damn good welder and have it tig'd up. shouldnt be a big deal.
  12. im not diggn the new plastics. looks like yami take on fullbore's look. im sad.
  13. no, they used an oil thats meant to be in the gearcase. what you put in your premix is different. until you find something really good i would just run the lube that you particular brand makes. yamaha makes 2r for their bikes so im sure that suz. makes something also.
  14. buy a long chain, 120 links, then cut it. there is no better way to do it. i would also put the carrier towards middle adjustment too. thats so you have some lee-way with your measuring. good luck.
  15. i just went and talked to the guy. he is dumb. no so much dumb but cheap, he went to a graphics company locally and had them remake the yamaha stickers on his fender so that he wouldnt have to buy them from the dealer. then he tried to tell me that trinity racing was in guthrie ok. im pretty sure when i got my shit done i sent it to anaheim cali, and it came back done. but he was friggin sure its in that small ass town. i just want to hit the guy. then he started to talk about how his hippy friend could rebuild my crank and i was like NO. not happening.
  16. i was expecting to see some charcoal and meat.
  17. i guess ill need two, but it didnt say anything about fitting a toomey silencer
  18. What colour powerband it has? thats awesome you never geard that before? WTF?
  19. point to brock for the ass kickin idea! never even thought of that. will it fit 7/8" bars?
  20. yeah, technological evolution should have stopped in 1987. the world wouldnt be so freakin overcrowded if we would let people die when they should. sounds harsh but whats better to have around enough natural resources or some 98 year old man on a respirator and kidney dialysis?
  21. that is correct. .1 inches or 2.5mm
