Yeah that worked for me but it gave me some nasty heartburn. -
Well after consideration of all my options, I have decided to go with some type of true muscle car-late 80's is about the newest I'm looking at. I am also going to keep it with Chevy, since my grandfather has been a mechanic all his life, and works on nothing but GM cars. That way, if I have a problem with whatever I get, or decide to do anything to it, he will be able to help. So on a $7k budget, what kind of true american muscle should I be looking for?
-
I would be very interested but I just dont think I would like having that kind of an engine with an auto. How many miles does it have?
-
BTW, I didnt ask this question on a Mustang forum because they are all MUSTANG OWNERS. How many responses do you think I would have gotten like Brock's or anybody else that has mentioned all the negative things about 5.0's? Every person there would have told me to get the car, and thats not the kind of response I want.
-
If you end up selling the 97 for an 06, buy the 06 first, swap out all the aftermarket stuff from the 97 to the 06, and sell the 97 stock. You probably wont get that much more for it with the aftermarket stuff on it anyway.

Wow, thanks for all the advice. I guess hearing what you didnt want to hear is better than not hearing it at all. Since everyone besides Talon Speedracer has advised against it, I think I'll leave the 5.0's alone. But here is the deal, I am on a budget of $6-7k, and I am looking for something with alot more balls than my v6. I can deal with the gas, I'm just tired of having a slow ass car. And where I live and drive the majority of the time, it doesnt matter what your driving. The cops know you no matter what, whether your in a camaro or a mini van. And yes, I have looked into dropping a 350 in my camaro, but I refuse to have a fast car with an automatic tranny. I would also like a car that had a nicer body (my car needs a paint job and has a few dings). With the low budget, I know that I want something that has already been modded to save $$. So should I just keep looking for a late 80's/early 90's z28 in my price range or something else?

Well after all the help and info I got on the motorcycle license, my parents decided to change their mind about letting me get a bike. So now I'm back to looking at cars, and since I got such good response here last time, I'll ask again. Right now I am driving a 98 camaro (V6) that I am selling to get a v8. I am pretty well decided on a 5.0 because any z28's in my price range are over 100k miles. I have found a couple on a Mustang forum that I am seriously considering, and need some help deciding which car would be best. The first is an 88 GT with 15k on the new motor. Mods- 347 cubic inch stroker motor, forged crank, and h beam rods, and forged pistons, built for a supercharger...eagle rotating assembly. Ported Cobra heads Ford Racing X303 cam, also comes with a e303 cam Ford Racing headers, high flow hpip with converters Edelbrock performer intake manifold 24lb/hr injectors/adjustable fuel pressure regulator 75mm throttle body granitelli mass air meter Lakewood shocks on front and rear Centerforce clutch, also comes with brand new Ford racing performance parts kind cobra clutch still in box Pro 5.0 short throw shifter MSD 6 ignition, msd distributor, and msd coil Auto meter monster tach with shift light, autometer oil pressure, water temp, and egt gauge. Two 12 inch rockford fosgate subwoofers, alpine head unit, and bostin acustik speakers. Car is built for a supercharger, has never had one installed. Car is good for low 13's to high 12 second timeslips in the 1/4 mile and could make around 600hp with a supercharger. The other is a 90 GT. Mods- 9lb Powerdyne Supercharger with powerpipe, Aluminum X302 heads, 1:7 roller rockers, C&M 73MM mass air, 70mm BBK throttle body, GT-40 upper and lower intake, Motorsport stainless shorty headers, 2.5" offroad H-pipe, 2.5" Dynomax superturbo cat-back, 3:73 gears, Walbro 255 lph fuel pump, Pro 5.0 shifter,3-core radiator, billet accessories on interior, white guages including boost and fuel pressure. All wireing has been hidden in the engine bay. I like everything about the 88 except that the motor was built for a supercharger, and I will have no intentions (or the money) to put one on it. The other thing is that it doesnt say anything about the rear end, so I'm guessing its stock? The 90 is located over 500 miles away from me, and the 88 is under 150 miles away. I have pictures of the 90, and it looks like a nice, clean car. I dont have pictures of the other but it says in the ad it is in great shape and that it was a daily driver. And finally, the 90 is $400 more than the 88. Sorry about the long post, just want to make sure I dont make the wrong decision. I will be using this car as my daily driver (50+ miles a day) and will most likely take it to a local strip a few times. What car will be making more power, better gas mileage, and overall what car should I be considering? Thanks.

I just went and looked at a 1999 cbr600 (f4). It has 22,xxx for $3,800. It looks bone stock to me, and it really good shape. Is it a good deal or not? -

Ok thanks. Now that I know I can get a bike, I dont know what to get. I am looking at the 600/750 class with a budget of $3500-$4000. Would should I be looking for? -

I will take the course eventually, but the next class opening for the safety course is over 2 months away. I would really like to have a bike before then and not let it collect dust until I take the course. And yes, I will definitely be wearing a helmet. Is there somewhere I can find what the riding test involves? -

Yes I know where you are coming from with being 16. I look at it like this, no matter how old you are there will always be a first time on a street bike. I have never considered myself "young and stupid" and feel like getting a bike now or when I'm 20 wont make any difference. Living in a rural part of the state, I'm not exactly new to driving or riding on the road, I've been doing both for over 8 years. I also read more into taking the course, and it says you dont have to take it to get your license. Does this only apply to those 18+ or can I go to the DMV, take the written and writing test and get the license without taking the safetly course? -

Thanks. It says you can get the license if your 16 but is there still a size limit? Edit- from reading the Illinois web page it doesnt look like there are any cc limits. But as if right now the earliest openings are early August. -
Can anybody tell me what the age restrictions are for motorcycle licenses in IL. I have looked all over the net and havent found a damn thing. I have heard from alot of people you have to be 18 to get the license, but can get a permit when you are 16. I asked a guy that teaches a drivers saftey course and he thought if you went and took the course you could get the license at 16. If anybody knows for sure, let me know. I rode a crotch rocket for the first time a couple days ago and fell in love, now I gotta have one.

Its cool to see there are alot of other people out there that like Mudvayne as much as the people around here do. I am from their hometown, Peoria IL, so they are definitely big around here. They played here last Sunday night, two of the four bands sucked I thought, but American Head Charge and Mudvayne kicked ass.
