  1. Always going to be that one asshole who thinks he's entitled to something for free or thinks he can work the system. 6 Months is ridiculous and at that point falls entirely on him for waiting so long to inspect the part, although, as mentioned I don't believe for a second the o-rings were even missing. I also have several Chariot parts on my bikes and they're all top notch, quick shipping, and perform. Can't ask for better than that.
  2. It's going to be a trade off, obviously a 2:1 carb is going to hurt performance over the duals, it's been proven. However, if you don't require every bit of HP for your riding style and would like the easier throttle pull then I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. Just depends on your goals. A larger motor like the serval would most likely take a 35-40mm carb with a dual pingle and oversized billet bowl to feed the motor without starving the carb and loosing intake velocity. Also try and stay with the old Graydon style 2:1 or Chariots unit. If power is your goal as mentioned a proper dual carb set up is what you want to be looking at.
  3. I agree with what Blubyyou is saying, the shorter swing arm is a HUGE improvement. Suspension for track in trail is going to differ. Track will be a lot more stiff and one would also want a wider stance. Trail in turn would be much more plush and a bit more narrow depending on the width of the trails you ride. You get what you pay for with suspension. It's not cheap unless you run across some good deals. I scored some killer deals on all of my parts and I'm at around $2450 for the major items. Axle, a arms, swing arm, front and rear shocks.
  4. I have a boss billet intake with boots for 34mm carbs. I'm not sure what you mean by if spacers are needed? Like for the bowls to clear the clutch actuator arm? The billet intake would space the carbs out enough to clear. I don't have any extra carb-airbox boots for the 34's. You can get em on ebay pretty cheap though, like 40 bucks or so shipped. Let me know if you're interested in the intake. I'll take some pics. I'd like 110 shipped for it.
  5. Welcome to the forum, Evan. As Rubberneck touched on, the floated ground for converting to DC is a HUGE selling point as the HID and LED lighting is really providing some of the best options out there right now. I actually am in the market for a stator on my XC bike to run additional lighting and was considering using the RZ stator for extra output but would love to test one of these out. The 119 price tag will definitely not scare anyone off either, really affordable.
  6. Yeah that 1000 dollar quote is their insanely inflated labor fees. Depending on what exactly is the issue it can be fixed for little to nothing. I would contact the police though and speak with them about it and see what they say. May or may not being to stick this guy for lying about condition and year. Tell him to fuck himself for the 800 he put into it, say take it off and replace it with what was on there, or consider it payment for my wasted time.
  7. Yeah, I can't begin to express how much I've learned and saved from the forum over the years, definitely an invaluable resource. As Nick indicated you should be much more worried about the handling limitations of the stock suspension. Focus on that area after/during doing the bolt on type mods.
  8. May want to just make a new thread with ONE updated price and fresh pics bro. I can tell you that around 500 is the most you're looking at getting for these based on the size, adjustability, and this being a forum setting where everyone is looking for a good deal, not a slight discount.
  9. Brandon shipped quickly and had great communication, pics, and quality parts.
  10. Awesome, it's hit or miss sometimes with banshee's because so many people are clueless and just do not take care of them, hard to tell from pics alone of course, but you did good in my opinion. Anything that gets a dad and son involved in the same thing is the best part of the trade without a doubt. Congrats on trading up. Before you ride it too much do yourself a favor and comb over it with a fine tooth comb, check all bearings/bushings for play, do a compression test, check the reeds for wear, do a leak down test, change the oil, clean the filter, make sure the clutch is properly adjusted, sync the carbs, clean the carbs (write down jet sizes while you're in there) get yourself plenty of plugs and do a few plug chops to see how the jetting looks, make sure the exhaust doesn't have any leaks. Just the whole nine, I always strip a new bike down to the frame, clean it, then reassemble and adjust everything properly. Like you mentioned, the last thing you want is an unknown underlying problem that detonates and spreads the damage.
  11. Years ago there was a kid in my neighborhood with an 05 and it seemed to be reliable enough as he rode it a lot and didn't seem to see a lot of down time and it wasn't that slow but with just fmf fatty's on my first banshee and 14/41 gearing - 22" tires I would walk on him from start to finish and I outweighed him by a lot. It eventually did break down and he just stopped riding it, I assume because of the cost and my 96 banshee was still running like a champ. The banshee is cheap enough to be modded to change the "feel" from a stock bike. It all comes down to preference in the end on feel but IMO with suspension, shorter swinger, longer stem/bar risers the banshee has an amazing feel in the trails and on the track. Plus the two stroke power is a huge part of the feel and that is the most addictive part of the banshee. I am itching to finish my 2000, it'll be my first 421 and I can't wait to feel all that power coupled with my new suspension. I say all this to reinforce why I earlier said I would NEVER keep a predator over a banshee, even if the banshee wasn't the nicest. Get away from it before you have to spend 2-3 K in repairs rather than mods! Throw 2-3k, wisely, at a banshee and your average Joe's who ride around your area won't know what hit them.
  12. I always meet in a walmart, lowes, or home depot type parking lot. I have done that probably 10-15 times. I also think the 03 may be the better of the two. Hard to know from pics alone.
  13. Depends on what you're looking for man. I'd make the trade if the banshee's motor checked out and all seemed tight with the bearings/bushings. But I have ridden predators and I would never own one over my banshee. You probably could get a newer and or nicer banshee for the pred as it's a pretty clean looking bike but the issue would be finding someone who wants a predator over their nice clean banshee. May be a rare find to run across that deal.
  14. Yeah, I dare say if I sold my 250's I'd be driving to Wyoming.
  15. That banshee is lucky it found such a good home! You've done an excellent job bringing it back to life, looks great. On a side note, how do you like that floor epoxy in your garage? I love the clean look it adds, I'm still renting so I haven't broken down and done it here yet but I'd like to do that as soon as I settle on a place.
  16. It is a clean, good looking bike but you will be hard pressed to sell that thing for anything over maybe 5 grand. Just a heads up on the market, I know you don't need to sell it.
  17. Certainly a nice bike with some quality parts but as others have mentioned I'd be all over BigRed's bike before that one. I already have one nicer than that for dirt anyway.
  18. Clean bike, maybe since he's so impressed with how amazing it is he will take care of it, something tells me this won't be the case. He will probably "blow it up" then "bore it out to a 500" so he can break that 200 mph barrier.
  19. Unless his wang is named formula... Yes, I want to see it.
  20. Are you calculating this in your head using the correct Yaw? I'm going to need to see your formula.
  21. 1 in 5,000 north Atlantic lobsters are born bright blue.
  22. Big foot is real. There wouldn't be a TV show about it if he wasn't.
  23. Awesome bikes man, super light and handle awesome I bet. I'd love to do this, YFZ rollers can be had cheap these days.
