Just adding the latest info.... It's official, Sniper Assassin inframes are available for delivery. After exhaustive research and development and manufacturing hurdles, Sniper Racing Products in conjunction with Passion Racing Engines is finally able to offer the hardcore Banshee enthusiast the new standard in expansion chamber technology. Purely scientifically inspired, they are the standard all inframes will be measured by. DESIGN SUMMARY If you haven’t already been following some of the information I’ve already released, here’s a breakdown of what we’ve created. Starting with a mathematically correct mid-bore 421cc Cheetah Cub engine, weve designed a exhaust system specifically tuned for this format, although not just for the 421cc Cub. Engines 400cc-500cc with high BMEP porting designs will also benefit from our efforts. Typically any triple port or modified trapezoid exhaust port designs in this cc range will fall into the desired engine classification for these pipes. Keeping in mind that correctly designed blowdown pressures in reference to exhaust area at rated rpm for transfers and exhaust ports are going to work best, but this is usually the case with any 2 cycle engine with any pipe.( I can supply more specific data specifications on a personal level when ordering.) Instead of trying to design a system that works well on all engines, we decided to narrow the focus on engine design and provide a spectacular design for the above formats. End result is a pipe that hits earlier, harder, and continues until unmatched peak HP is obtained at rated rpm with excellent over-rev as well. On gas 421's we’ve achieved more than 10 peak HP increase over any other pipe in existence, while maintaining as much mid range torque, and developing this HP and torque earlier than any pipe in existence. No more trade-offs between mid range torque and peak HP, you can have your cake and eat it too! Bottom line...the ultimate drag pipe, but not just a drag pipe. You are also no longer required to run un-silenced out of frame drag pipes to produce the most power, we’ve got you covered. These results are made possible by constructing the pipe with maximum scavenging , trapping, and charging efficiency calculations via specialty engine software developed by Gary Bilby of Sniper Racing Products. The end result is unparalleled pressure wave amplitude manipulation. Each individual section of these expansion chambers are velocity and resonance matched from start to finish. This technology has only existed for factory road race teams in the past, but is now available in this design for your own enjoyment. MANUFACTURING SUMMARY With special attention given to sparkplug access, petcock access and clearance of larger than normal heads, filters etc., specially designed mandrel bent stinger tubes, along with the chambers themselves can be adjusted infinitely for clearance issues from front to rear. You can give or take clearances throughout the run of the pipe for an excellent fit. Chamber body seams are tig welded to ensure the cleanest welds. Each pipe is bore-scoped for inspection of unwanted welding rod protrusions and distortion. Exhaust flanges are double Viton o-ring equipped to minimize leakage at cylinders. Silencers are heavy gauge 6061T-6 tubing with over-size billet 6061T-6 end caps. Silencer tabs are heavy gauge 6061T-6 for durability. Inner perforated silencer cores are stainless alloy and dampening supported for long life and no corrosion possibilities. Silencer baffling material is resonance matched stainless steel wadding...no re-packing required. Just soak in solvent and blow out with air with no disassembly of silencer required. Stinger tube to silencer fittings are Viton o-ring fitted for a tight seal. Fuel line protective heat resistant sheathing and zip ties included for proper fuel line preparation if needed is included. Separate forming molds for left and right pipe provide the most symmetrical fit possible. Ultra precision production jigs ensure that every pipe is as originally designed. PLATING OPTIONS 1) Pipes are available in bare form with polished silencers. 2) Industrial electro- less Nickel plated inside and out for maximum corrosion resistance and carbon build-up resistance. Buffed to nice luster on exterior outward surfaces with polished silencers. NOTE: We are also going to offer several colors of Ceramic coated pipes good to 1700 deg F after we finish testing the coating which we are currently doing. Hopefully available mid to late January 2011. We are also currently trying to secure a quality show chrome plating facility in our area so we can eventually offer this option as well. Plating facilities are not abundant in our area so if you are interested in show plating, we suggest buying bare pipes and having them show chrome plated at your desired location. We also can adjust our design slightly for special applications, including big flange versions, hill shooters etc. where needed on a special order basis. This design alteration option was designed into our original stamping designs to give us this option for our customers. This allows us to use the same scientific design process instead of attempting an afterthought make shift approach. Compromise and mediocrity are never considered in any process Gary and I are involved in. We’re just ridiculously anal that way...to a fault, and to your gain. I’ll take this time to thank all of you for your support and business over the years with Passion Racing Engines. Without your support and loyalty, research and production of products of this caliber would not be possible. You can look forward to more cutting edge products from Sniper Racing Products in the future. Thanks again....Jim Smart Below are a few pictures of our finished product in Electro-less nickel mounted on my 2000 model j-arm conversion play-bike. http://i57.photobuck...NIPER6-Copy.jpg http://i57.photobuck...NIPER7-Copy.jpg http://i57.photobuck...nre/sniper2.jpg http://i57.photobuck...re/SNIPER13.jpg http://i57.photobuck...nre/SNIPER8.jpg http://i57.photobuck...re/SNIPER18.jpg http://i57.photobuck...re/SNIPER28.jpg http://i57.photobuck...y-Copy-Copy.jpg http://i57.photobuck...4-Copy-Copy.jpg SNIPER ASSASSIN INFRAMES BARE $695.00 INDUSTRIAL ELECTRO-LESS NICKEL $795.00 CERAMIC $795.00 ALL FINISHES COME WITH POLISHED SILENCERS AND HARDWARE PACK Contact PASSION RACING ENGINES 918-272-5665

HAHA.....not much gets past you Jared, had to mock up the bike for the photo shoot. was wondering when someone would notice. Kinda like fake tits on a supermodel huh... lol HP per dollar ratio Tyler ...excellent point. In many cases a set of stock 421's and a set of Snipers would outrun a "built" 421 from marginal builders. With everything else aside,in stock form, they are absolutely "THE CUB PIPE" INSPIRED, DESIGNED, AND RELENTLESLY TESTED ON CUBS!....Jim
-
Servel would need a little coaxing to be a great match for Snipers, but you could still bring it into a format less than full drag insanity and very dunable...Jim

CPI is a pretty versatile pipe and definatey forgiving on over transfered engines. Our 421 Cub test bike on however yielded 11.4 more HP and 4 lbs of torque over the CPI. It also came into the power 250 rpm earlier and maintained the same mid range through 8500 rpm but kept pulling when the CPI fell flat. Hybrid OOF's can be ordered currently. With or without tunable stinger selections. Custom order only at this time. Thats what were thinking. The price reflects what it takes to make them with less than average mark-up. Were not trying to take advantage of people just because they are better. Better built takes more time and production costs...Jim

PVL ignition timing on a 4mill cub
PassionRE replied to Craig Walker's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Heres a degrees BTDC vs equivelent measurement of piston BTDC in mm. The 16.7 degrees represents +5.7 degrees. Just decuct 11 from the numbers on the left and look over to the left for mm BTDC in mm for + whatever over stock timing with stock ign. box. This is based on stock ignition being 11 deg. BTDC@9500rpm with 58mm stroke...its very close and is suitable for PVL set-up...Jim http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g215/passionre/4millpvlc.png -
Tyler, thats a big DM, the physical size of the pipe would be pretty big, nearly as big as the DMX pictures I posted. The engine will mandate how big they need to be, its not a preference thing if your looking for a spot on match. Talk with Gary, it can be done, but I doubt we will offer a stamped version of that design. Increases in power over what you have is beyond a certainty. I think Andy and Gary are working out a session, Ill talk with Gary about it as well. we are going to cover the DM OOF line completely...Jim

We are going th offer the standard sniper inframe which will cover a variety of engine configurations. On engines requiring additional heat release for sustained HP such as hillshooters etc, they can be modified in pre-production on a custom order request. We have the ability to analize any build and adjust for maximum efficiency, not to mention pointing out any possible shortfall in a 2 cycle design for a given application. We also do custom design work and production for any 2 cycle application in case your into diabolical chainsaws or Aprilia road race engines. Your programable ignition wont be a problem as long as it corresponds correctly to your combustion chamber design paramaters such as rated max HP rpm vs flame speed, duration, and squish velocity. Sorry for the 20 answers Loco, here are a few pics of the hybrid OOF's with optional tuning stingers. they are removeable and adjustable for different scenerios serious drag racers run into, not to mention heat release requirements for certain builds. Also are a few pics of the DMX series OOF's while they were in the initial dry fit stages...now in testing....Jim

They will hit as soon or sooner than the CPI with that configuration but keep pulling long after the CPI shuts off, to the tune of 10-12 hp worth. You might want to consider changing fuels and bumping compression ratio. Your exhaust gas temps are so high with that set-up that it really narrows the powerband over what it could be....Jim

We should have the first few sets of inframes available in approx 2 weeks.....nearly all the little issues have been dealt with. We are also offering OOF hybrid stamped /hand built versions if interested. Performance between OOF and IF's pipes is nearly identicle...just a matter of preference. These pipes will be all that was promised. Gary and I dont waste our time trying to be second best. Unmatched performance and quality was the main goal in the beginning, and the reality is about to be available for everyone to enjoy....Jim

Try to keep rear boost .5mm lower than the rear transfers with th rest of your plans...Jim
-
Check your billet impeller...Ive seen them eat out the covers before and destroy flow capability...Jim
-
Piston prices have changed a litle since I updated the website, but the bore, hone and chamfer is still $55.00 per pair...our everyday price...Jim
-
Twister is nice stuff but for this particular application you better go ahead and get those oversize pistons with the kit. Unless the port work and combustion design is set up correctly you'll be using those oversize pistons by the six pack.....Jim
-
Cam, should have pics of silencers in around 2 weeks. Just got done with the tech drawings and will submit for the initial pair. Description would be.... shiney, no rivets, no welds(except for mounting tab), circlipped, o-ringed(viton), and from the rear, imagine the end of a really big, shiney, well crowned Remington 700 target barrel...will that work ,or would you like the 6 flute 14 twist rifling as well?....Jim

Thanks for the update Andy. Ive got a few things Im ready to run and test.

Hang in there Diskoe, as soon as our next round of stampings is in we'll be pumping them out. Hopefully by Fall we'll be in full production. Any well built 421 will have the advantage with this pipe...Jim

It only around 8 percent improvemnet in peak HP, pretty typical really. Could have been better with domes and timing but I was trying to compare fuel to fuel only, not build to build. I easily could have gained 2-5 lbs more tq. with domes and timing. The 24hp increase at 9000 is what it is...reality Andy it was wingin pretty hard, Ed let out pretty fast..but the chart shows pretty decent over-rev considering everything else the pipe was doing. No problem, we chose this dyno on purpouse mainly because of questioned validity of the other dyno we use from some of my more vocal critics in the past...enough said...Jim

Gary and I ran a quick methanol test this weekend for a baseline run in order to get a direction for the methanol version of the inframe. The two power curves are the same engine, only methanol and sparkplugs were different. no other changes. This pipe was developed on GAS but the methanol test was promising in the least. We were mainly verifying how it would react to methanol and it acted as expected. This is the standard inframe Assasin pipe on 421 CUB.. For you guys not familiar with methanol, this is a good representation of what you gain from it. How's an extra 24HP@9000rpm?...I like it..Jim http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g215/passionre/dyno19.jpg

Can you TIG weld?...may need welders once were up and running. Same for you Brad, start learning TIG..its gonna be BIG. Gary has the data files on the inframe ...trapping efficiency, scavenging, and charging eff. etc. were off the charts...maybe he'll chime in. Actually, I would be the guy to do that. I have a TON of 2-1 experience on 2 cycles. In my younger years ,I was a Kawasaki Jet Ski fanatic...they used those style exhausts because of cowling room restraints. Contrary to popular belief, they can be made to run HARD. Not as hard as a state of the art twin pipes, but probably harder than several twin pipe set-ups that are being marketed currently. I just wonder what the demand for that type of thing would be though. It costs a ton of money and time to R&D a good expansion chamber. If the payback was there, maybe Gary and I could work on that....but I know Gary would have to be pretty damn sure the demand would be there before he invested the time and effort...I feel the same way about that too. anybodys thoughts on this 2-1 subject? or any other concerns pertaining to Snipers?...please chime in.....Jim

Thabnks Dave, was wondering when somebody would notice that :0 ok Mark, been a little hard to get hold of the last few weeks...rent house hell!
