  9. The lack of window porting on your pistons will essentially retard reed signaling which in essence is retarding intake timing. Your engine will run, but not like it should....Jim
  10. Jim, like you I am a purist when it comes to music. I analyze absolutely every sound that comes out. I have had the honor of being around some of the finest sound reproduction equiptment known to mankind. My brother is the local Krell dealer among other high end lines and I have listened to sound systems priced over 200K on many occasions. I personally dont have that kind of cash, but feel lucky to have my trusty re-worked into then 21st century SAE2600 and Magnepan 1.6QR's and are quite happy of the quality of sound. I would say they are as clean and linear as anything Ive heard just not as loud as a set of $140,000 Krell towers. Sorry to beat around the bush, BUT....why is it that such super mega rock bands such as U2's recordings just sound like total SHIT. I can hear every little everything on my 1.6's and the recording quality is just total garbage..those guys can afford someone like yourself to do a better job....whats up with that?....Jim
  11. If your stroker was set-up properly the PJ34 Keihin's are just killer on that engine and very affordable. Be sure to get the proper manifold to adapt them or your giving up a tad of what you paid for aka VOLUME...Jim

  13. Take your boost bottle , any brand, and plug both ends of the entrance chambers with corks or plastic plugs. Now hold it under water in your bath tub as far as you can, and let go. If all goes well, it will shoot out of the tub and you can pretend that you are a Navy sub operator along with your Gi Joe with Kung-Fu grip. That is what it does best and keep it away from your bike....Jim
  14. As far as ex. port (timing) is concerned , it is linear movement in reference to movement per degree of rotation. In this area of the stroke, that rate is fairly constant. BUT, since you have increased the stroke, movement is more with the same given degrees of crank rotation. Thus, your exhaust ports open 5 degrees earlier. And since they open up 5 degrees earlier, they close 5 degrees later ,bringing up the (duration) to 10 degrees more than stock....Jim
  15. Stock ex. duration is 180 degrees and with plate and +4 is 190. That represents ex timing being 5 degrees advanced..Jim
  16. Yes I agree D34, the transfer duration is increased from 120 to around 132 degrees as well. Vito needs to ck his degree wheel again....Jim
  17. The locator pins can walk out even on properly set-up clearances. Wiseco had huge problems with this back in the late 70's and early 80's. Its a manufacturing problem mostly, although sloppy clearances cant help in the least....Jim

  20. I havn't stuffed cases on Banshee motors mainly because they are major "stuffed" to begin with compared to alot of 2 cycle engines. Ive never noticed anything on stuffing motors traditionally as in crank plugs etc. in performance as far as increased transfer pressures are concerned except where radical transfer durations are being used.. What you've done there will help in performance but not because of what you think. The angle that you've changed on updraft entrance will increase flow because of a less turbulant entrance, which is where your gains will come from, not increased crankcase pressure. Not saying increased transfer pressure wont give you gains, you just wont notice it as much unless your transfers are advanced alot earlier than normal. My main concern would be one of those baby's letting loose at about 10K...ouch!...Jim
  21. You can build a killer MX engine for half that price and actually be able to hook it up to the ground with proper suspension mods and still spend less money, not to mention probably turn faster lap times....Jim
  22. Well, best porter in UK is a breeze of a question. Jade Racing hands down.....question is will he even port your Banshee? But if not, give him a call and see what he say's. He holds the world record RD400 naturally aspirated with stock crank record....9.5 seconds in 1/4 mile on gas and 9.1 on nitrous....Jim

I started out trying to rig the governor on my moms lawnmower at 6 yrs old., ended up being a Factory Honda and Kawasaki mechanic for about 15 years, A&P mechanic, electronics technician, Foreign car mechanic, and are currently doing R&D for safety glasses, die grinders, and arthritus medication...Jim
